I asked him if he was ready to commit long term- he went silent for 2 days- that was it for me. The silent treatment is exactly how you described- its stating: "great. I have you- but I dont want to commit- I want to sleep around and keep my options open- but I'll swing back to you if I want because I know YOU want ME.

This is the second time he’s been silent in our relationship, we’ve been together for 18 months. This has always been a pattern in all my relationships and I would be clingy and chase. It’s been 3 days and for the first time I don’t actually feel the need to reach out and I am feeling strong enough to call him out on it if he comes back because I want a man not a child.
After 5 days I actually called him out on this behaviour and basically told him if he doesn’t want to be with me anymore then I’ll happily walk away because his behaviour is making lose trust and respect for him and to be honest I deserve better. He’s been in constant contact since and is putting in the effort. The reason was he has some health issues that has been worrying him so he’s opened up to me about everything and is allowing me to support him.

I decided to let him go. I told him "you keep ghosting me" and this "break my heart". I was in this loop for 3 months. I knew in my heart of hearts what it was (that he was cheating) but he kept selling me dreams and how much he loves me everytime I'd confront him of his silence. He had a million excuses for why he couldn't get online etc etc. I can't believe I put up with it for so long. Anyway, two weeks before I dumped him I warned him that he'd one day get online and not find me...... surely enough he slipped back into the nonsense so I finally gathered the courage to leave. It's because they have it so easy these days. Many women sleeping before marriage. So they can play ghost several girls after they got it until they eventually stick to one. It's better for thr Women not to invest her heart, time, and body too much unless he proves to you first with his consistentcy that he will stick around. If he doesn't wn you he will leave before you got emotionally, physically or financially invested.

I partially agree/disagree. People should never be forced to stay in anything. But when people invest time and energy and other things you can’t get back into others and relationships, then yes they should have some type of explanation. Trust me he will hurt u down the line I went through the same thing saw a behaviour problem he promised he would change and not make feel the way I do got married down the line had kids and he did it again. It's a horrible feeling it called emotional manipulation been with a man for 14 yrs is hard to get over the pain when you saw the behaviour the signs were there. I choose to give him a chance and he repeated the pattern. You be careful as mentally the impact is toxic they don't look on their behaviour and what it does to people mentally very emotional on you to make you feel that it's you that's the problem when it's actually them hurt people hurt people. If I could go back in time I should of walked when I saw the behaviour and when I had the chance to not build any memories which this fool of a ex Good luck

I confronted the guy before he even went silence 😅… He wanted to turn things around saying I should RESPECT MYSELF that I shouldn’t be so available that I was very intense and too much! Of course I wasn’t anything he said and he felt uncomfortable because I always told him what I expected and wanted. I wanted to share this because men tend to makes us feel that we’re the problem and it’s because of their lack of values, respect and it’s convenient to say dumb and immature excuses to get their way and what they want specially this guy that said he was very “religious” and stated some excuses that weren’t even valid or making sense. Be ware of those too that think it’s a sin that a woman can express herself and don’t take their BS!

Update: I sent that text today, and I feel so much better about the situation and myself. I took back the control. He can’t just come back; I closed the door, and he’s gonna have to fight like hell to get it open again. I’m stronger than him. I’m certain of it, and I’m so glad that I just didn’t let him get away with this breadcrumb/ghosting sh1t. Usually, I just let them go and don’t say a word. But it was awesome to tell him that we hadn’t spoken in X days, that I want a man that I can trust, that I’m closing the door, and that he can delete my number. I don’t even care if he comes back; I feel a big weight lifted off of my shoulders.
