I have a little pot like this that I got on Amazon. It has a high and low switch. It heats up pretty fast. Even though there’s a high and low there doesn’t seem to be much of a difference in the strength of the boil....it’s a really strong rolling boil. I think the price was around $22.00. I love mine. I take it with me when we travel.
I've seen the Amazon ones, they look like a better quality than the blue one I tried in this video. I hope to have better luck with the others.

Out of curiosity I've got a similar one from Ali Express and I'm now checking out how long it takes to boil with 230V....
A few minutes later:
After four minutes I checked how it was doing with the 400ml of water you normally add to noodles and it's bubbling like crazy. Certainly quicker than using a gas hob.

I love the little thing it came with the u.s. plug and it had an option to have different plugs
The one problem with ordering devices that are like 220 volts is if you don't have a Step Down Transformer you can damage them
A iPhone has any adapter a voltage regulator so you can go from say 100 volts all the way up to 240
The Nintendo 3DS does the same thing
The plug in the video you showed looks like a European plug
Thank you for the tip. I have recently looked into the step up converters, not sure if I want to spend the money on it right now. My husband does have a converter from when the military sent him to South Korea...it's in iPhone one. You think it would work? Bases overseas use US outlets, so he had to convert the phone he got there to US charging. Weird, huh?!

I have a mini cooking pot like yours (the blue one) but it has a different wire. It took me less than 10 mins to boil water. I might be able to cook rice with it. I can even cook hotpot.

Still taking a long time, but I think it has to do with the plug. Just make sure the plug is for your country's outlets, and you should have no problem!

Interesting purchase. I have an electric teakettle that looks like the blue one. I used it at work to boil water and it was super fast. Now it is my basement somewhere since retiring.

The newer version only takes 5 mins to boil water and it has Two power mode switch
Hers is slow because she doesn't have 220V
Thanks for sharing, but that adapter you have does not convert the power from 110 to 220 for the machine to work, a converter is about 4 times bigger. You should be very careful with using any appliance that needs the power converted, it can cause a fire. It is also why it took so long to work, because it is trying to pull 220v from your 110v socket and so it doesn’t have enough power.

Hi, I just test boiled my one. Brand is alpremio multi pot. It took me less than 5 mins to hit boil.
I'm only telling you this cos I think the voltage does make a difference you having that Chinese/ New Zealand/ Australian plug using it in the US. Maybe try to source some which are compatible for the US. I know I wouldn't want to use it if it took me 30mins to boil the water.

The last one actually took like 3 mins to start boiling the water a bit at my place, not 30+ like u said. U put too much water in yours probably

110V is a problem.
I bought topwit hot pot with 2 different temperature controls. On high it took 6 minutes to boil. I'm glad I watched your video because the hot pot you got is a waste of money

First of all, thanks for the video, and for testing this item in a real environment. The voltage is a concern. The power cord has a Type I (China, Australia) plug with an adapter (!!!), so it's not originally made for the US market. I saw the video and basically that pot took around 30 min to boil two cups of water (!!!!!!!!!!!). An eternity. Another concern is the cleanup and maintenance (this is a portable item ideal to be used in dorms and rooms without a sink or running water, for example). After making a meal, this item must be washed. Since the pot is not detachable, it NEVER CANNOT be submerged in water. So it must be cleaned with some creativity, like adding water and boil it, when it has burn or sticky residues. A crock pot concept works much better. It's Made in China. Disgraceful...
Right?! What's lame is on AliExpress it says "US plug" but it really isn't...it needs at least a converter...not an adapter.
If it was used with 220V iz would be 4 times faster.

Wash as normal, just don't get water in that terminal...kind of a pain.
