This video was taken freehand with the new Oppo Find X 5 PRO in automatic mode, wide-angle selected because too close!
FYI: Original file in 4K 60 frames per second. 3.89 gigabytes / 9 mins.

After his concert in Paris, musical encounter with Marcus Miller for the very first time at the mythical Blue Note in New York!
Arrived very early (4:45 PM for the opening of the doors scheduled for 6 PM with the start of the concert at 8 PM !) we were lucky enough to be second in the queue and thus choose one of the only two tables touching the stage.
Having Marcus Miller at one meter, I had to film at wide-angle to encompass the scene!
Result ? A practically private concert feeling even if the room was crowded!
It's the sixth time I've seen Miller and it's perhaps his finest concert, with a lot of collusion between the artists and probably because he was also performing in a small place...
In this excerpt, he accompanies soul singer Ledisi at her best with "Chain chain chain" a cover of Aretha Franklin !
Note the discovery of a talented pianist who we will surely hear about, the young Julian Pollack better known under the pseudonym of "J3PO"
I hope we will see him again because he deserves to be talked about!

Après son concert à Paris, rencontre musicale avec Marcus Miller pour la toute première fois au mythique Blue Note de New York !
Arrivés très tôt (16 h 45 pour l'ouverture des portes prévue à 18 heures avec début du concert à 20 heures ! ) nous avons eu la chance d'être second dans la file d'attente et ainsi choisir l'une des deux seules tables qui touchent la scène.
Ayant Marcus Miller à un mètre, j'ai du filmer au grand-angle pour englober la scène ! Résultat ? Une sensation de concert pratiquement privé même si la salle était bondée !
C'est la sixième fois que je voyais Miller et c'est peut-être son plus beau concert, avec beaucoup de connivence entre les artistes et vraisemblablement parce qu'il se produisait aussi dans une petite salle...
Dans cet extrait, il accompagne la chanteuse soul Ledisi au meilleur de sa forme avec une reprise d'Aretha Franklin "Chain chain chain"
A noter la découverte d'un pianiste de talent dont on entendra sûrement parler, le jeune Julian Pollack plus connu sous le pseudonyme de "J3PO"
J'espère qu'on le reverra car il mérite vraiment que l'on parle de lui !
MM the ultimate professional. When he accidentally steps on his lead (1:45) and it comes out of the bass, he waits until he is on the beat so that when he puts it back in the "pop" coincides with the kick-drum. So cool!
We sense the guy who plays live all the time and who is used to this kind of incident! !
It doesn’t get much better than Marcus Miller…..smooth sound and great leadership. Saw him in STL; one of the best shows ever!!
It has a desperate side for those who want to learn the bass !
How to reach such a level !
I love how Marcus handles stepping on the cord. He even waited to plug it in in time. 😎

I would also add that each live track is different! You will never have the same version of a title at each concert ! "TUTU" i recorded in Paris is totally revisited ;-)

L homme grâce à qui j' ai débute la basse.... Cette bass Line sur fat Time....Hier soir j' ai adoré le live sur France culturel,j ignorais qu il était en plus un clarinettiste hors pair....Merci Mr Miller....Il m a semblé que c était Laura de Charlie Parker ?J ai encore le frisson....quelle harmonie.....powlala.....
C'est vrai, Miller s'est essayé tout jeune à la clarinette basse avant de taquiner la guitare... Enfin, quand je dis "taquiner" !!!
J'ai vu TUTU REVISITED sur Culture Box hier soir :-)
Je posterai plus tard un morceau à la clarinette basse qui a été enregistré ce même jour, avec Julian Pollack au clavier, un gars qu'il faudra surveiller de près !
@@Olivier_Debats cool un grand merci....🙏le batteur aussi m a mis une bonne claque....C est pour moi actuellement le plus grand bassiste,toujours a explorer les différents styles,et c est le seul bassiste qui donne l'impression de sortir tout ce qu on peut d une basse quand il part en solo,j adore,,un très grand monsieur.....
Le 1er juin, sortira une nouvelle vidéo "Detroit".
Du grand Marcus ! La valeur ajoutée de ce musicien est qu'il ne produira jamais le même son d'un même morceau... Un même titre joué 10 fois donnera à chaque fois des variations bienvenues, des idées, des accords autres !
C'est un des rares artistes où je préfère ses "live" que ses CD en studio !

I was at this show. 1st time in NYC. Mrs isn't into jazz, and I didn't grow up listening. Figured you don't get many chances to see a legend, though. We both left very glad that i got the tickets. She was blown away by all of the musicians
Marcus Miller has always surrounded himself well and always keeps an attentive ear on young talented musicians ! He has just added one in his team who is a keyboard and is called Jullian Pollack, he was at this concert and will accompany him on his summer tour in Europe ;-)
And Ledisi (we don't Know very well in Europe) is Amazing !
marcus brand of jazz is different with a strong sense of funk at the foundation his style of groove in second to none....he never disappoints

Yes ! But I was afraid that my smartphone wouldn't be able to take the sound feedback which was right in front of me, less than 2 meters away ! The OPPO FND X 5 PRO did the job ;-)
