@@cordobes We had a crew cabin on our 56 and the skipper was more than happy. Some of the crew cabins on sports yachts are a bit tight but this Pearl is a 61 foot boat. Our AZ Mag 66 is only a few extra feet and has a twin crew cabin. So no excuse. I am fully aware of nautical terms. Where is the soundproofing in the engine room?

    • @cordobes
      @cordobes Před 2 lety +1

@@shaundunk386 If you were fully aware of "nautical terms", you'd use them.
And what the hell "where is the soundproofing" even means? What exactly do you think the "soundproofing" is?
Lmao. You absolute know-nothing fabulist - you were expecting to see some deadening mats lining the gelcoat ike this was some trawler or a sailboat engine compartment or something, weren't you? Like those silver fireproof panels. Hence your bizarre claim.
That's now how "soundproofing" functions on these boats. Sound isolation is a structural issue that is primarily addressed at the architecture and design level and secondarily at construction. Boats that are properly designed and built already take care of vibration control and sound control structurally. Noise is almost entirely vibration. Any noise absorbing materials used - I bet entirely paint and hitec multilayered acoustic panels like sorberdamp, etc. - are hidden in the superstructure - as they are in most yachts of this sort. There's no "soundproofing" to see.
It boggles the mind you think a boat that sells for €2,500,000 post VAT, designed by guys like Dixon and Marshall, with literally dozens of iconic superyachts under their belt, wouldn't have engine room soundproofing. Do you even have any idea about the kind of noise these types of engines produce? I mean you clearly don't.
You have another review on youtube that includes a sea trial where the reviewer literally opens the engine room hatch with the generator working - you can see how stellar the sound insulation is (or later when he's sea trialing).
Or you could read the Yacht Class February 2021 edition which states, and I quote from the review ipsis verbis, "the residual swell of 80 cm allowed the hull to show its good balance and flexibility of crossing, without observing any structural vibrations or interference noises. The sound levels observed at 2 000 rpm, i.e. 22.4 knots, confirmed this positive impression, with 68 dBA in the saloon and 70 dBA in the main cabin".
If 68dbA in the saloon isn't best in class, it's very close. These are some stellar numbers - as anyone with half a brain would expect from a Bill Dixon design.
The soundproofing is there; you just can't "see" it, as you shouldn't. The fact you thought you should be able to see it is hilarious; also a bit sad and pathetic. That you thought it didn't have it is just pathetic.
Considering your comments, I suspect you n never set food in any boat bigger than a kayak, except perhaps ferries.

I go the other way around. Anything under $5mil, I look at with much more interest, because those are close enough to my range that I can at least vaguely realistically imagine being able to afford those boats eventually. I wish the channels did more of those. Nautistyles has a series of "affordable liveaboards," which are basically the cost of a pretty ordinary house, so if you're planning to move aboard full time, many people could afford that kind of boat by selling your house and not buying a new one.
I wish more guidance was available for people who do intend to buy something house-priced and move in full time. A lot of people do it and talk about their experiences living on their boats, but not so many talk about what the process is like and how you do it.

    A Few Thoughts:
I've seen 215 of your these tours, super yachts not withstanding, and this beauty has managed to slither through my CZcams/Aquaholicholic fingers...? How fitting to be the 'last'. I had to watch this one THREE times...!
Me a few months ago: "Why the hell is CZcams recommending I watch a yacht vid........ Holy ship... These things are ridiculously pricey...!"
Me now: "What an absolute 'bang-for-your-buck' vessel...! The best thing Pearl did was to secure Kelly Hoppen... Only £1,370,000...? How damned reasonable...!"
Love the metal inserts in the Aft Cockpit table. The devil's truly in the details with this beauty...! What's in the black cabinets beneath the bar? The cutlery drawers in the Galley... "Useful art". Love the 2 simple, understated black chairs at the dinette area. Not a single sharp edge to be found... Tactfully brilliant, and soft on the eyes as well. Kelley's genius at work.
The Helm... Just WOW...! And the way the wind screens extend creating almost an atrium-fell kinda thing. Astounding...!
I've thought it many times, but this boat is the perfect example... "Ya'll take the Master - I prefer to have the VIP Suite." The layouts are always so much more nonsymmetrical and visually appealing to me. And the muted, so sexy, sophisticated and rich looking finishes are amongst the finest I've ever seen. It's "only £1,370,000"... No, really.
The dark wainscoting and even faucets and fixtures and such... so demure and classy. The indirect lighting just adds to the sex appeal.
The cleats, handrails and accessories are works of art unto themselves! Love the Flybridge, but can I get mine with a hot tub for 4...?
Pearl even creates an artistic Engine Room...!
Your tours inspire those of us who've never had an interest yachts whatsoever... Now I MUST have one. Another brilliant tour from the 'King of All Yacht Tours'...! Cheers mate.

Little bit of a leisure space ship element with the black framed elements in the cabins. It is fairly design feature rich as is common in Pearls. Not bad and in an 8 way split, that's modest money. New and fresh, you could definitely call that a yachting experience although I have become so accustomed that I'm starting to think even this is a bit small :) solid instagram flex certainly.

What a gorgeous boat. So glad to see a decent power station in the Galley area. All too many times I see the walkthrough videos, and I'm left thinking... "where would I plug in the kettle, to make some tea ?".

I love the wood grains and interior design on this yacht. It's got a very "Enterprise D" feel to it, as if you could talk directly to the ship's computer. The common areas are first class modern luxury with formality, and, I have to hand it to British builders: they understand the balance between the two. Better equipped galleys, but also a grill topside. So, everything from a nice Chicken Normandy to barbecued ribs is on the menu. But you've also got a separate access to the master, so Mum and Dad get to pull rank, and have better privacy.
But the very best part, and the most British thing about this boat, is overall seaworthiness. Everything is solid and watertight. The only compromisable area is properly astern, and those glass doors appear to have hinges and quality seals for a solid interference fit. Those little details can be the difference when aa pleasure cruise turns unexpectedly rough, something the English have a lot of experience with. This is a boat which is designed to impress, but also get you out of a jam if one should occur.
As always, Nick does a great job at showing both the "wows" and the important operational details.

Excellent yacht and huge accommodation for a 62 , pearls have always had a very good build quality and it shows in that engine room. You’ll see proper forced air ventilation whereas the majority of production boats just rely on basically just a hole in the side of the hull for the intakes . They can also be reversed to pull air out to cool down the engine room after passage . It’s details like that and many others which make a Pearl a Pearl . Now where’s that lottery ticket !

You know, it amazes me how these compact yachts pack so many desirable features a owner would want. I like that you have decent power for propulsion, ample space and excellent styling. I must say that I love the caulked wood planking for the decks; reminiscent of classic Chris Craft!
