This is a perfect time capsule. I wasn't aware Alton Towers was more of a Disney esque full theme park. Mostly saw it as just rollercoasters

Yes I agree, so much going on here and such a great ‘magic’ atmosphere. When John Broome was in charge of the park in the 80s/90s he intended to make the park like a more British Disneyland. I feel like that was lost a bit but with the events they are doing now, it is slowly bringing the park back to life. ☺️

I remember watching this with my mum a couple of years after it first aired. We had a family trip to Alton Towers in this year (2002) so have great memories of it. I love how there was so much going on here and not just all about the rides. I wonder what a lot of the people are doing now. I’m sure the man that did the drag act in the hotel now works at Butlins in the pantomimes.
