    Really well done. I like the subtle soft brushed on the face. They look killer on that toned paper. Lots of great texture and detailed work in the hair. Excellent piece 👌😊- best of luck on your art and your channel ,and much support from one artist to another. Massive 👍's Up.

    How can I blend charcoal like you ? Do you blend with dirty finger? Because when I blend it erases all.

    • @ZimouTan
      @ZimouTan  Před 4 lety +2

      It depends on the pressure on your fingertip, and the amount of charcoal on your finger.

    A smooth transition between the white chalk and toned paper where the mid tones are appear difficult to achieve. Would it be easier with a grey toned paper rather than brown?

    • @ZimouTan
      @ZimouTan  Před 4 lety

      Actually, the value of the paper is more important than the color, even the color is also important. When I look at the toned paper, the first thing come to mind is what value is it? Then, is this a good color to use?

    Can you please tell us which white pencil to use, because the ones i have (general's and cretacolor) they are very hard and don't get this white???

    • @ZimouTan
      @ZimouTan  Před 3 lety +1

      I use the General's white chalk pencil, one reason might be the tone of the paper, the darker of the paper the whiter the chalk will appears.

    Hello sir,
    I tried a darked toned paper but the white chalk pencil won't make a mark on it either. Sir i am using hot pressed water color paper that i toned with ink.
    Please sir can you tell me that is there a special kind of paper that will work for the white charcoal/chalk pencil.
    Please help me sir, i have turned the whole web upside down looking for some info on this there is nothing on this topic.
    I would be so thankful if you can help me with this. I make portraits with graphite and charcoal what kind of paper can i use to make portraits with graphite charcoal and white chalk pencil??? 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

    • @ZimouTan
      @ZimouTan  Před 3 lety +1

      First of all, hot-pressed watercolor paper is not for graphite, charcoal, and white chalk pencil, it is too smooth. You can try the charcoal toned paper or pastel paper, it needs texture on the paper surface to hold on to the mediums. Hope this would give you the help you need.

      @@ZimouTan I don't agree that Watercolor Hotlressed paper is too smooth and thus not good for graphite and charcoal. Arches HP is known to be the best paper for graphite and Fabriano Artistico HP,is known to be the best for Polychromos and Charcoal. Even Bristol works The reason his pencil didnt work,was probably the white pencil itself that he was using,or the kind of toning hitshe, or both.
