This is so fascinating to me! I'm an artist... or well... I draw sometimes (I'm more of a storyteller who likes to illustrate their stories...) But what I'm trying to say is that I kinda have my own MO, my own intuition on how things should work in a drawing. I'm not even gonna say I'm anywhere near this level, but still, I have an intuition on how I would approach things if I had the skill to do so. And then I see him do it differently, and at first I'm like "Wait, why'd you do that?" but as things fall into place I get what the point was. But then... I still think that I'd do it differently, and I wonder if or how that would change the outcome.
Great drawing, congrats!! As a perfectionist i would like to point out that her left cheekbone right under her eye is sticking out more than it should be, making her face look bulkier and the eye needs a tilt on the left. Keep it up, your work is inspiring me, thank you!
The work is beautiful but she's really different than the photo reference (at least this one). She's more beautiful in the drawing I guess it's a choice. Well done.
I guess you just refer to the level of detail? Because many of the values are not yet finalized that early in the drawing process... It just looks unfinished
awesome skills. curious why dont have issues with the white and black ? (that dead blueish thing) is it because you keep saturation down with all the hatching ?
You lose likeness because left chick proportion is off (left on the drawinf, right for the model) and the right eye is too big... You take a lot of measurements but the essential ones are off. Focus more on the soul of your subject and less on measurements and your drawinf will be way better : wrong proportions on a good drawing add personality, wrong proportions on a soulless drawing are juste a mistake
Nicolas many will consider your comments harsh, but I am new to portrait drawing and currently considering what style I want to adopt and I understand what you say - although I appreciate the work that has gone into this, I personally find it much too high contrast, too much definition, nothing left for me as a viewer to read into her. I am definitely leaning more towards a looser, more expressive style. I’m definitely looking for soul! That said, I am definitely learning a lot from watching even if I don’t plan to imitate his style.
I would easily hire someone, to sharpen my charcoal pencils! I would pay him well too!!! lol. Good job, thanks for sharing the knowledge!!!!!!!!!!!!
This drawing is so beautiful and the choice of music fit perfectly.
Thank you for this wonderful pair of videos. Sometimes just watching teaches so much.
So much patients and self discipline, I am amazed.

squarz thanks! I have problems not being faithful to the models.....
@@CuongNguyenArt it's better like this. Printers are cheaper and faster. You are not a printer.
This is just her through the eye and the hand of the artist, that's what you should appreciate. His work isn't supposed to be hyper realistic.
@@ughlwtmechangerhisthabks8349 I hope you have read the following comment. I didn't want to be dispreceful, the opposite.
@@CuongNguyenArt it is just perfect and you got the essential of the model
Amazing

Pls can you share the name of charcoal and white charcoal pencil s..?
Those are pencils from General's company. You can purchase them online.

Personally i would ve left it at minute 23 , it just looks good there.

Generals brand Charcoal pencils
А белый карандаш - это что? Сухая пастель?
