Ok, can I just say that filming yourself in your morning robe is very endearing and makes me feel like I’m hanging out with my bestie! :-)
Totally agree with this statement!! 😁
Absolutely
She's real n being herself.
haha it's the only way I can make videos lol
Lol I was just outside in my nightgown getting onions and celery to make spaghetti sauce! I love that you are so real, and let everybody see that!!
Becky???! Your hair is so pretty! I think it’s the first I’ve seen it down. Thank you for taking us along with your daily. Hope you have a beautiful rest of your week and even better weekend. 🌿💛
Thank you!
I agree! Her hair is beautiful!!!! 😍
I second that. Her and my daughter have that long beautiful full dark hair🥰
I agree also. Your hair is so pretty🥰
I agree, it should be “hair down day” once a week! Lol. Your so organized I figure planning a hair day would work. 🤩 it’s beautiful and you should wear it down!
Try cutting the ends off of your lemons before using your little juicer. It makes getting every bit of the juice out so easy it will amaze you. I recently learned that little trick on another homesteading vlog and I'll never go back.
Thank you so much for sharing this! It always frustrates me so much when I can't get all of the juice out of lemons with juicers
@@jmarie1647 you are most welcome. It's gratifying to know it was helpful for you too.
LOL I wrote the same trick in my comment and then removed it after seeing that you had already shared this trick with Becky! Way to go! 👍😊
@@claramorgan8670 ahhh yes! Great minds really do think alike. 😀
@@mustwereallydothis 👍😆😆😆
As a stay at home mum battling with postnatal depression, I have to say your videos are really helping me get motivated to get stuff done! So Thank you, keep up the good work! 😊 (from England 🏴) x
I'm a UK viewer too, I'm sorry to hear you're suffering from PND, I hope you're getting some help? Where abouts are you in the UK? I'm in Hertfordshire.
I hope you're doing well! 💞
First of all how satisfying is shred all those carrots and beets in no time with that food processor, I know I felt super satisfied shredding cheese that way recently! I also love that you include the little things like almost dropping that shredding blade and doing your hair, it definitely makes you feel very relatable. I love watching your videos!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you!!
Seeing you in your robe out in your garden makes me feel like I am not alone in doing that. Makes you seem real down to earth.
Your hair is beautiful! I love watching your videos and seeing a young woman teaching/using food preservation methods. Keep up the great work!
Thank you so much!
I honestly don't understand why 6 people who put a 👎on this video. I wouldn't mind some of your energy! You are inspiring me to do some advanced food prep!
I love that your harvesting in your robe. I sometimes think my neighbors think im crazy lol
Your channel makes me genuinely so happy! As a newly graduated person who works 40 hours a week and who feels like they have 0 time in their day, it’s very refreshing to see you have time to do things you love outside of work :’) also I see you like a friend or something haha, love this channel
I'm so glad!
I feel the exact same way
You are a lovely girl Becky, I'm from IRELAND, and I really enjoy watching you. You are such a natural person, always bring a smile to my irish eyes. Keep it up.x
I love that you’re out in your garden in your jams & bathrobe!!! I relate so hard!
Your hair is gorgeous!! I’ve been watching you for months and LOVE you and your channel! You’re a true inspiration!
Geosmin is a natural bicyclic terpene with an earthy odor. The dirt taste/smell in beets is geosmin.
Use grey water to help with the drought. I have an extension on my washing machines water outlet pipe that goes to my garden. If your garden is too far away you can place a food safe drum under the outlet and use the water from there using a watering can.
I also don't really like beets, but they are an important crop for gardeners. One way I like to use them up is to dehydrate them and grind them up into beet powder to put in smoothies! It's great color and you can barely tell they are there!
That's a great idea!
I need to try using beets in char siu- I don't put food coloring in, but it doesn't get that really red look it's known for! I bet beets would make a good colorant, especially because the flavors in char siu are so strong that it would mask that earthy flavor.
I absolutely hate the earthy taste of beets. Can you taste it in the smoothie?
@@rachellelemke4091 I use a tablespoon of beet powder and a tablespoon of homemade greens powder for about 64 oz of smoothie and cannot taste it. My husband and kids don't complain either.
Had to laugh when you said the beets when cooked taste like dirt. My oldest son doesn't like beets, he said if I want to eat dirt I'll just go to the garden and eat dirt.🤣
The salad looks delicious! And your hair is beautiful, I had no idea it was that long :-)
Lol thought that too with her hair, wow
Thank you
In Australia, we call what you call beets beetroot. We mostly pickle them - canned. But I was a night shift nurse for 10 years and my favourite breakfast was beetroot, onion, and or sweet potato. My hubby would wrap vege of choice in foil and pop it in the oven before he left for work and it would be beautifully roasted when I got home. Cooking them this way makes them sweeter and is a very helpful way to reduce sugar cravings. 🌹Rosie of Oz🇦🇺 & 🐶Omega the Cavalier🐶
I've never seen your hair down before. Beautiful!
Wow - your hair is beautiful! I’d like to know how you put it up like that. I let mine grow out long during lockdown and now looking for easy ways to put it up. How about a tutorial? 😀
Your hair is so long and pretty! Who knew? Not us. That carrot and beet salad looks so good. Great video as always! Thank you for sharing!
I just realized I need to harvest my carrots! This is my first year as a gardener. I checked on my carrots yesterday and they seemed too small, but now I realize that's just the size home grown carrots are! Thanks Becky
Becky you can easily peel beets. Just cut a small x in the beet bottom and then put them in boiling water for couple minutes then use a fork to take them out. Pull the skin off as you take them out of the hot water. Now toss them in ice water.
I can't wait to have my own garden and try to grow some vegetables, flowers, fruits ... I love your videos !
I've been watching your channel for ages and I've never seen your hair down, it's gorgeous!!
Becky, you have become my favourite CZcams channel, and just binge watching your earlier playlists over the past couple of days. Love your natural raw talent of sharing your life in such a warm friendly manner. Not only do you relay informative content, you also have an open mind to hear your viewers opinion as well, so I just want to mention that some people put shredded beetroot in chocolate cakes, it apparently enhances the flavour, haven't tasted it myself yet to give a rating. Best regards from the state of Victoria, in Australia.
Great Garden haul!
Yass girl love this type of vids!
That's a good haul! Very inspiring now that spring is coming!
Thank you Becky I love all your recipes
Loved the video, Becky, so nice to see you out and about too. xxx
This farm is right by my house!! Love following your homestead journey, it’s so inspiring!
That salad look so pretty. I’ve only ever tried beets from the store in a can. I’m growing a few this fall to try home grown fresh. I’ll have to remember this recipe to make this .
I love watching your homestead! I’m still getting mine off the ground and I do a little better each year but I’m still not where I want to be. I look at your beautiful harvest and just think about how hopefully I’ll be there soon!!
I never knew that Helvetia was doing pastured meat. We used to live near them and often bought their corn to put in the freezer. They grow some really great corn, you are in for a treat.
We live in southern Oregon high desert now and it was really nice to see the green grass of home in your view shot. Thanks so much for taking us along!
Really enjoying my day off catching up with your older videos. ❤
I feel the same way about beets as you. I actually only grow candy cane beets (might be another name - they are red and white striped and are great raw in a salad). Will definitely try your salad recipe. We also love wine tasting and have a ground of 5 couples where we rotate who hosts. They host picks the wine. Sometimes we taste a certain grape variety or a region.
Your salad looked so beautiful. I’m not a beet fan either so to hear you say it wasn’t your favorite but that you found a way to enjoy it makes me want to give it a try. I didn’t grow beats but my husband likes them so I’m planning to do that next year. Now I have an option for a way to use them!
I just discovered your channel... Im so happy with this update.
I grew up on beets (I’m polish lol) so I’ve had them just about every way, I find they also taste a little like dirt but they are absolutely delicious in barszcz which is a beet soup and I also love them pickled! Pickled beets are also delicious with some horseradish shredded in
Atta girl!!! New stuff, New ideas... and you start out in your bathrobe!! You. Are. Awesome!!
Keep up the hard work. We all appreciate it!! Keep smilin'!! ❤
I can't wait to see you new garden, ☺️
I do really like beets, but have discovered that hubby & I LOVE the beet greens even more. Favorite thing from our 1st year garden.
You are so real it’s so refreshing. Loved watching you day in the life 😁👍🌼🌸🌺
Awesome thank you Becky. Your videos are always interesting.💖
My daughter lives in Vancouver, WA and I live in Happy Valley, Oregon. Traffic in Portland and around is AWFUL and you can never judge when it will be light traffic. :O
I store my corn the same way when I get it home. Just shove it in any available space 🤣
BTW, your hair is "goals" 🙌🏼
Clicked on the wrong pic and have to start again. Fantastic
I’m not a beet fan either, but this salad looks soooo good! Thank you for taking us along. I so much enjoy your content. 🙂
Watching from Canada 🇨🇦, love your channel 🙏🏻
Great video! What a wonderful looking garden:) I love all of the lovely flowers and vegetables and you put a lot of hard work into all you do. Also eating healthy gives you the nutrients to have more energy and sleep well. I really enjoy watching your videos:) Your such a hard worker! :)
Love the hair!!! Nice DIL, as well! Your videos are so awesome!
So glad I found your channel. I’m in central Oregon and my diet has changed so much and you are providing me such great inspiration!
Love your chickens feels like home🤗
Oh my word your hair is everything girl 😍
Lovely video thank you. Also thanks anyone who mentioned a NW USA winery in the comments. I’m in Oz but our local wine store has a small US section which I’ll check out now.
I love beets boiled with just butter and pepper on them. so good.
Always a delight to watch your videos! Your content is of course interesting, but I also love your positive attitude and enthusiasm :)
Hi Becky! I've just watched this vid and I have to say it really made me smile to hear you saying how cool.it was that the animals on the farm you visited we both grass fed and finished/grown.....lol. In New Zealand where I'm from this is all we do. Throughout the year, the animals just deal with sun, rain, wind and snow and just get on with it. It's a very rare sight to see any animals here raised inside apart from pig farms (though not all are) and chicken farms (again not all are). The carrot/beets salad looks divine and I'm going to give it a go soon. Thanks for all you do and teach us. I'm 60, love to cook and bake and garden, but we're never too old to learn new things. I really like the way that you explain things like the Mayard reaction and other little tidbits. Thanks again. Take care, Dee from NZ.
Hello Becky, you're such a special person. Thank you for sharing and informing us with your channel! You inspire those who's lives you touch! Your hair looks lovely down too.
Thank you so much!
I love that you can go outside in your robe! I used to do that before my neighbors thought drop ins were okay:/
Maybe they would think drop-ins were less welcome if you greeted them in your night attire more often! 🥴🤪😏😏
I love roasted beets! I never cared for them but after I learned how beneficial they are I started roasting them with a bit of olive oil, pepper, and rosemary. So good. Thanks for sharing your day with us. I'm new to your channel and find you inspiring.
Such fun to watch!❤️
Thank you!
I just love your videos Becky. You do a great job abs I’ve learned lots of helpful tips.
Not sure but I think if you put your corn in the fridge, it messes with the flavor just like tomatoes
Make that salad for the next family dinner party! I’ve done one with carrots and apples. Beets sounds GREAT!
Going out to see friends I live in Melbourne Australia 🇦🇺 and we are in lockdown number 6 only slightly jealous
😢😢😢 love your videos gives me ideas and things to plant for spring and summer. Ps left over salad like the one you made and coleslaw can be tossed in your wok when making a stir fry’s get tip plus any dressing just adds flavour.
You did a fantastic interview....
i peel +grate raw beets mix with raspberries and make a cake i also make a chocalate corgette cake as well .yum yum
Another awesome video!! Thank you!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I have no idea where you get all of your energy!!!! You are amazing! I love your videos....thank you so very much. Blessings to you and your family! :)
I love raw beats and goat cheese salad with a drizzle of honey and cracked pepper…soooo good.
Love your beat salad, tastes beter from the garden!!!
LMAO the beet and dirt flavor, I totally knew what you meant, I think anyone who has had beets would but you went on to explain it. I love you, you crack me up! You also inspire me to be better. I do a lot of home cooking and canning and freezing but I need more freezer meals like you. 😘
Hey lovely..Love yr posts & am learning various bits..Strange how people in 🇬🇧 don’t tend to store or dehydrate food (I now do 😁)..& love doing it so no waste..as said before I’m a specialised chef & am learning various bits from u..Thanks for your posts huni I’m now besotted lol xxx 😘😁
I think you might be surprised how many people do in the UK. I’m one of many people I know that preserve, store and dry.
@@hcb1982 that’s great news..I didn’t realise tht there are people tht do much of this in 🇬🇧 xx
Your hair is absolutely gorgeous!!!! Wow!!!!

Thank you!
I feel ya on the corn. We were doing good, but squirrels ate all of it last week. I was heartbroken. I’ll try again next year.
That was very fun to watch x 🇬🇧
Great video.
Pickled beets are nice and tangy. I'd highly recommend them plus they have great health benefits for shark week
Already saw the interview. Loved it! 😍
This was like watching the prequel 😆
I cut beets in half, quarter if large, par boil in salt water, remove skin, slides right off when warn. Then slice, finish cooking in frying pan with butter. Of course wash before boiling.
Stopped by to see if a new home video is out lol working my way back through old videos.
Beet greens and stems are awesome sauteed in stir fry!
Thank you! I need to try that
I loved the farm tour! You did a great job doing the interview! Thank you for your videos and for encouraging us to buy from our local farmers. God Bless!
