Thank you for being such an inspiration raya I cried when you cried ❤ Self love is some thing I really struggle with as well for many years. I dont feel like myself in my body so I've always held myself back from so many things I know I would do if I were much thinner. It sounds very dumb but its only gotten harder for me as my time with nursing school is coming to an end and I've eaten out for convenience, not worked out, and I think simply the stress of it on me has lead to me gaining even more weight. I have kept saying "whenever this semester is over I'll start" or "whenever I graduate will be my time" even though I know in my heart my health should always be a priority and I should be making time for it.

I definitely understand how you feel about not wanting anyone to see you because you don't feel like yourself or you don't recognize yourself. This is exactly how I felt when I had cystic acne on my forehead, cheeks and chin for almost 2 years, about 5 years ago. I had such a hard time and cried every day looking at myself. Even smiling was physically painful because the stretching skin with huge cystic pimples on it is... not a good feeling. I am now fully healed thanks to Acupuncture and Chinese medicine (changes in my diet and lifestyle habits...) but I am still dealing with acne scars... Oh well! I really want you to know, this WILL pass and you WILL heal. Do not worry about it, and let yourself feel all the feelings you need! Love!

  • @iKeto_gal
    @iKeto_gal Před 2 lety +3

It's an inflammation response. You need to do the elimination diet. Low Carbs to Keto to Carnivore. You're eating certain foods that's triggering acne. If you're snacking in between meals, you're keeping your insulin levels up which is why it's going to be harder for your lose weight.

love this video and your attitude and reactions are real and human. This year for months I had some strange inflammations and some kind of rash near my mouth, nose and eyes. I had them for a few days, up to a week and then they disappeared. For weeks or months nothing. When begun lockdown, the most stressful period of this 2020, they have disappeared. life is strange. During these times, my skin turned red and swollen and I no longer recognized it. I tried not to cover it up with too much makeup but sometimes I felt so overwhelmed that I overdo it and then I felt worse. Many times I have refused to go out because of this.
Send you a lot of love

I love you raya! I wish I could give you a hug. Since we started having to wear mask I started to have bad breakouts around my cheeks. For someone who never struggled with acne, I feel your pain. It’s finally getting better but before I cried and sadly was even angry at times. I actually bought makeup(not big on wearing make up either) to help me feel better because I was so tired of seeing someone else in the mirror and it honestly did but for a little..

you're a brave woman & good on you with the skin thing! you're a real inspiration
. I understand this skin thing 100% as I have problem skin on & off. & I suffered facial dermatitis for a couple years once. it completely floored any confidence (which has never been my strength, anyways) I ever possessed. it makes us humble af to feel so exposed. I have problem skin now, but nothing like before. your skin looks angry. was it slightly burned with products? not an expert in any shape or form but man, I'd be looking up natural native plant healing ointments. they work for me down here in NZ. I'm about to start experimenting in making some balms myself. best thing to do is look into your own local healing remedies... also a rich local honey (we have Manuka in NZ) from well-treated bees, that feed on such medicinal botanicals etc, would really feed any raging abrasions/rashy angry skin. best best medicine in the world for our skin, inside & out imho. you're amazing, truly, & I'm so glad you still went on your date. Louie only sees Goddess, believe me. deep deep love there. I gratefully see the same loving looks in my own soulmates eyes xxx

It even keeps me up all night and I have thoughts such as am I eating well enough, drinkimg enough water, sleeping enough... I've totally been there before a few years ago, I would sit in my room and cry & try to use multiple products in the moment to try to get rid of them knowing using that many products at once was only making it worse. It's a spiral for sure. We shouldn't allow stupid blemishes control our lives! But for some reason it does. How are we supposed to go on about our days when we don't feel like ourselves? Such a catch-22. I hope you're feeling more like yourself again, Raya 🤍 You're frickin GORGEOUS regardless.

I've gained some weight and it's hard to not feel bad about it. I also struggle hard with not being green enough. I'm not zero waste. I'm not even fully vegan. I moved vegetarian and I've tried to make friends with other like minded people and I've gotten multiple people who won't even talk to me because I'm not vegan and it was heartbreaking. I thought this community would be more accepting but no I'm still not enough. It's hard for sure.

Hey Raya, thanks for being open about your experience. It's all a part of the human experience. I hate to hear you seemingly invalidate your own feelings but I suppose that might be because someone might say "you're crying for no reason". Your feelings in the moment ARE valid. No human is 100% grateful all the time. It's okay to find yourself feeling down sometimes. We humans experience a wide array of emotions and they oddly balance each other out. I hope you aren't too hard on yourself in these moments 😊🙏🏿

I went through something similar last year. I had some sort of allergic reaction and for months my skin had red splotches and was a bit swollen, and I couldn't for the life of me figure out what was causing it. I didn't want to cover it with makeup, because I was having enough issues and didn't want to make it worse, but I also didn't want anyone seeing it. It does seem silly, but when it's happening to you, it's not such a small thing. Sending you hugs!

When you started doing your workout and you wrote that you make up your own work out it put a big smile on my face, looks like so much fun!
Wait what do you eat figgs with the skin? I thought you were not supposed to eat the skin.
About the struggles with your skin, at this part I wish I could just come and give you a hug. You are still absolutly beautiful and apart from that, having a bad outbreak does not define who you are, your roommates or louis or anyone else will not like you any less of it. Thank you for sharing the struggles though, it's good that everyone who watches your video's knows that you struggle too with certain things. And don't feel guilty, you're allowed to feel bad too. Try to remeber there's a difference between complaining about it all day (which you haven't in the video) and sharing the struggle every know and than. I also feel like you have definitly made a difference in the journey of self love, and you are a role model for that, especally because you show that you still struggle sometimes as well. In my eyes a role model doesn't necceraly mean someone who doesn't struggle, it means they are dealing with it and trying to overcome the struggles. That last one is exactly what you are doing, and you have already come so far, and even though I don't know you personally, I am so proud that you have come this far.

Hi Raya! I've been watching you for a long time now from Maryland! I wonder if you have considered that chin area breakouts are sometimes hormonal? Yes, its true that it can be an indication of something happening around your reproductive area. I had a similar issue when I was your age. I also had endometriosis. Im sure you don't have that awful problem but you may have a rise or fall with your hormones levels, maybe just because of the different foods you were eating while you were abroad.

I have had something that looks identical to this and it was not acne, but dermatitis which is a skin infection, and requires very different treatment to acne. I was prescribed Elidel cream (primecrolimus). You might be able to get it without a prescription outside of US/CAN. Sending love

I had that rash from wearing a stretchy material mask (never again). I think its because it was hot too and I was breathing into it on the bus. Its not fun, but you're not alone with it. lots of love

I was just gonna say, it could be from mask use! Satin and silk ones are meant to help, because they're gentler on the skin - it might help!

Raya you’re gorgeous, but your feelings and the way you’re feeling is more than just about acne. It’s about the years of programming we’ve all had; telling us that beauty can only look one way. I’m so happy that you pushed yourself to go out and enjoy time with your friends and Louis. Enjoy your beautiful life!

Dear dear dear Raya, it's OK that you are feeling that way sometimes! Don't you ever apologize for having emotion! Don't fight your feelings honey. Remember that nothing is permanent. Everything is energy in motion, just like your emotions (the word says it right...) Everything that manifests in our bodies is just a reflection of our energy. Maybe you were struggling with some things before this happened. It also means that you have a lot of high flying energy going on. And when you feel otherwise, you feel that strongly because the energy gap is bigger now. See it as guidance. Guidance to love yourself even more. You can do this, you're so powerful

Hi Raya! Thanks for posting this video! I am a licensed esthetician of many years, and I wanted to give you some insight! First of all you are beautiful. Know that. Inside and out. Your messages are clear and strong. A few things I am feeling about your skin specifically. First off, you mentioned a facial you had in Dubai. Sure, it could be a reaction to products, purging of the skin, or even an allergic reaction. But, my intuition, with all the mask wearing we are doing, I have one question, not just for you but for everyone. Evaluate HOW OFTEN you wear each mask. They should be rotated, warn only a couple of times, and depending on the fabric, disposed of, after just one or two uses, as some are disposable. Be careful how often you are wearing each mask. If you can, wash by hand with boiling water and simple non-allergenic soap. Have multiple masks. Find what works for you, but have multiples. Wash them, and keep new ones in a sanitary place. This has been hard for so many of my clients and friends. I wish you well with your journey to clearer skin! You've got this. Try not to be so hard on yourself. If it could make you feel better, let yourself, (allow for a short period) to wear some vegan makeup. I suggest Jane Iredale. Her line is beautiful. She is all Vegan, paraben, sulfate, etc free, like you appreciate. Just some tips and words of encouragement for you and your viewers. We will get through this! Be kind to your body, and it will be kind back. Love your videos, and sorry this is such a long message!

I have to say you nailed it on the head with 3 major things for skin - food, exercise and the mask you were wearing after the facial would create a lot of carbon dioxide on fresh skin and even makes me break out when I don't have a facial.
The one thing you haven't mentioned though yet is your GUT health! I know you are vegan, but you really need to get into potassium broth!!!!!
People who eat bone broth have the ability to get great skin through that as well, but vegans and vegetarians have to go towards potassium broth!!! I hope this helps you and everyone here.
But remember- you are beautiful regardless!!!! 😘😘😘

Its especially hard for me to show my boyfriend even tho I know he wont say or make me feel any less. but I just don't want him to see me this way. and we should except ourself it just sucks! because even with you try your best to wash your face and eat clean it down work ! :/

OMG I understand you so well... When I have those reactions I don't want that anybody see me. My advice: visit a dermatologist and think that you care about it much more than everyone. That acne doesn't define you and you still being so beautiful. Your hair is amazing btw

  • @CarolineSophie93

Have you seen a dermatologist about your skin? I had the exact same thing around my mouth and it was something called perioral dermatitis. It can happen when you over-moisturise your face (like with a facial). The solution is to not put ANYTHING on your face and lots of patience!

It's OK not to feel grateful 100% of all time! It's important to let our emotions release and then we can have enough distance to see things and be grateful or whatever. I'm not 100% confident when I have spots and with the mask, they come more often than usual. Put some tea tree essential oil to help them dry. Also, are you sure it's not an inflammatory reaction or some infection? If you can, get that checked

Don’t beat yourself up, it’s ok to feel bad about parts of your appearance from time to time. It happens to everyone.
I’m also sure though that you‘re gonna look back at these photos and be so glad you took them! They‘ll hold such great memories and you‘re probably gonna laugh about how „silly“ it was to feel so insecure at the time. I‘m sure this will feel so insignificant compared to the fact you‘re actually in the pictures with your friends :)

Can one own it (acne or whatever we are discontent about our bodies) and still be bitter about AND still be ok with both? Dont know if that makes sense, but I feel I can envision it better than I can explain it. Enjoying life and at the same time be ok to have this little bitter corner in my heart for that one thing I dislike about me.

I really understand you get sad. I have a friend who had a lot of stress a few years ago. He often break out in his whole face. And he its really healthy most of the times. He tried all kind of stuff. I think it will help if you go in the ocean every day and start on your stationary bike. Because stress is released through our big muscles. The ocean and the salt water is heling in so many says. By the way you have such a beautiful face, eyes, eyebrows etc. No I am not lesbian. Just really honestly think you are picture perfect.
