The food goes in the crisper pan. It isn’t a grease trap.
Lol did you see how he has a few pieces of chicken on the rack itself?? 😂😂😂
@@jay1572 I am trying to downsize my kitchen space so I THOUGHT this was a great idea. I have a small counter top oven that I cook everything in it. If you try to cook a small 3 LB roast you can't, a small chicken or game hen you can't. The problem is that the food hits the top of the oven you have to cut the chicken into pieces Plus there is no way to stop the drippings from going all over the place since the tray is to small for the low rack to fit in to catch the drippings. If you only want an air fryer and microwave its fine. PLUS intrusions are so basic
Put the food IN the crisping pan and put the pan on the riser.
Video says put crisper pan under, downloaded manual says put pan on top of tall rack with food inside...which is right ??
@@haroldburr5057 This video is not correct, food goes in the pan. video from GE shows the correct way. czcams.com/video/poQg23OXtVI/video.htmlsi=s5XqTLTSUaeCGt1J
Duh 😂
Their video shows putting the food in the pan
How many pages on the manual doesn't come with one.i bought this so far not impressed
The manufacturer video shows putting the food in the CRISPER tray and placing it on top the wire rack.
Dude, delete this video and redo it. You didn’t read the manual for the air fry demo.
😂😂😂
This is the stupidest thing I've ever seen. You call it conventional oven when it's convection. Then you put the damn crisper pan underneath the rack and put your nuggets on top of the wire rack. This video needs to be deleted😅
No one shows how to work the oven part. Bought mom one but she needs the oven part and no one has reviewed the oven function or how to use oven function
Thanks for this review. Our old microwave crapped out and this looks awesome! Gonna buy it tomorrow
The CONV is a convection option. And just repeating a few comments as previously mentioned. The crisping pan is always used on top of the tall rack for air frying. I have a different brand but I read the short rack can be used with the convection option.
great review I'm also looking at buying this... but I want to make sure it can toast bread as well
Thanks for the great and informative video! Finding your video is perfect timing as mine just died!
When you use the convection oven, does the outside on top get hot enough to melt plastic? I keep a radio, toaster and fan(all plastic) on top of my microwave and would like to know if the convection side of the oven would melt those items. Does it warn you about how hot it gets on the outside? I see you have it right next to your ice maker. Thank you.
Hi Scott. Do you think I can put it the hanging cabinet and integrate it there. Is it too heavy to be placed in the top shelf
do you think you could do something like pizza rolls on the bottom in the pan and a small Totino's pizza on top of the rack at the same time?
Disregard this. I have one - works great. For air fry, food in pan on tall rack. For convection oven, food in pan on short rack. For microwave, no rack use microwaveable containers. The "smoked glass" effect over the buttons really is the dumbest thing in appliance design. The LED display is TOO DAMN BRIGHT. I have to cover it with a towel at night so it doesn't keep me awake in the next room.
I've been surprised that the LED display DOESN'T light up. I'm elderly and not very mobile and it's annoying I have to walk across the room to turn on the room light before I can make choices. I never expected this problem though I love everything else about the unit???
Did u ever use the broiler mode?
Question…does this unit have part of the unit sticking out the back? I am considering purchasing this oven and needed to know if this one needed the extra space. Thank you in advance
Mine came with a round deeper basket in addition to the racks and pan but i never see anyone else mention this with theirs
The manual does not show how to use the broiler.
For Best Results… The rack and crispy pan are required for good air circulation and even browning. Always use the provided crispy pan with the tall rack when air fry cooking by placing the crispy pan on top of the tall rack.
I have this & that's how I use it, but it's nearly impossible to be turning food in the pan without removing it & it is HOT! An accident waiting to happen?
Don't know if you would know this, but I have a pizza that is the width of the pan, and can't fit inside, would it be fine to air fry it without the pan? I've seen photos of other pizzas in air fryers, and they always fit snuggly in the pan. But what if the pizza was just wide enough not to fit?
@@edelbrock443 Pretty big pizza? I'm trying to find out the proper way myself, a standard bake to rise (Digornio or clone) fits with a few inches to spare with my pan. I would think the convection mode with the lower rack ... maybe.
@@CSmith-gb1sl I heard air frying pizza is good, so that's why I'm wondering. I'm talking thin-crust Newman's from grocery store. The width is the same as the pan so they can't fit inside.
@@edelbrock443 I have a Pizza pans with Airholes in the bottom (an Airbake & a knockoff), slightly > 12" dia, which will fit providing they don't move (slide) while the carousel is rotating.
There is a Pizza Key, but likely for reheating a slice of pizza (I have yet to try this yet)
Also tell about the little rack.
I just bought the same one that I found at Lowe's, i didn't check carefully before purchasing it that it was a bit crushed on the outside! but that's not the problem, the problem is that it gets too hot on the outside! is this normal?
In the air fry mode, I noted the top can get very warm/hot.
A good question as I haven't tried that yet.
Glad to know this as I might have added a shelf above it for more storage space. * have quite a bit of head room so can make an adjustment or move the needed shelving over. @@CSmith-gb1sl
@@Barbsfrmokc I've only done Fish & Chips on a 15 minute AF cycle so far, haven't taken this any further than that. I used to lay items on top of my old microwave with no issue. This one I keep the top clear.
I'm so disappointed that my new GE air fryer touch pad does not light up for use. I'm elderly and immobile and have to walk across the room and turn on an overhead light before I can read the pad. Hard to believe this is not routine on this unit.
So what is the shorter rack for?
I have the same question!
Per the manual,, Convection & Combi Modes. (I'm leery of using metal in the Combi Mode since it uses Microwave energy, this isn't explained in the manual)
Anyone that has this microwave noticed an excess of steam inside the chamber while cooking? I seen a couple comments on this elsewhere, but never got an answer on why this occurs.
It's normal. It's in the manual
I've noticed in the microwave mode, the unit generates a lot of condensation (steam), & occasionally the fan will stay on in the microwave mode for a minute or so, & display "Hot" after complete.
Has anyone cooked a bake to rise frozen Pizza in this oven? (& how?)
For those who read the manual, it says to use the short metal rack & pan with the Combi Mode which uses microwave energy ... Metal while using a microwave?
You can microwave certain metals. It's fine. Use the hardware they provided.

rack spacing is to put the pan on I THINK THAT LOOKS OBVIOUS......am I wrong???
I just got this microwave today. One of us used the crisping pan the wrong way. 😂
This kinda helpful.. but the pan is not in the right place. But you still were helpful and thanks
Why am I seeing electrical wires thru the right metal wall of the microwave?
Because there are vent holes for the lamp inside at the front upper right that expose this wiring.
Can it make toast
The food goes in the crisping pan.
what is 4 in one i understand only airfry and microwase wat else 2 other
Broil, and combo
I dont get whats the difference between air fryer mode and convection. Its the same frikin thing
Should of made drip pan same size as metal piece . Be easier to slide whole thing out too . Maybe could snap into it . The brains don't think when they make things
The rack should be shorter and not a turn table, so you can bake with rectangle baking dish also, besides that it nice❤
Take the turn table glass out & you can fit your rectangular pan in without it spinning
Dude, the black tray goes on top of the rack.
As I’m watching this video I just bought mine this year and it went out. Will definitely not recommend that piece of junk. I checked my fuse, my electricity is just fine. Never cooked anything in it but just warm food. 😢
Finally a video that tells how to work the air fryer, you should be the new CEO for GE appliances.
This microwave is ridiculous, you can't even read the menu on it. You have to have glasses on, with stadium lighting. You don't even get any directions on it whatsoever. I never would have bought this thing, knowing what I know now.
Um, it did come with directions you just didn't read them. I can send a pic to your email if you'd like if you still have the unit
@@jacobshelton3743 Honestly, no directions. I’ve heard others say the same thing.
Mine came with directions
@@tibbstitan2631 Mine did not. Plus, do you find the menu buttons easy to read?
@@Theyralltakenfu you need to remove the plastic film protecting the area from scratches. It’s very hard to peel off but it makes a difference.
YOU PUT THE CRISPER PAN IN THE WRONG PLACE, 🙄🤣👎🏼👎🏼
Also complains bout slots to wide . Turn chicken wings vertical then they won't fall thru 😮😅😂
Read the online manual. The pan is for the food not under it! Read directions before making a video…..
Do you have a full manual not the 3 or 4 pages...
You're literally doing it wrong, chief.
Too bad This or any GE microwave doesn't have inverter technology - Basically a NON STARTER!
inverters are functionally worthless in a modern microwave
@@zetec You obviously have not used a microwave with an inverter! So you have zero clue how much better it is to cook at partial power, than full power off and on repeatedly. Please refrain from commenting on things you know nothing about!
@scotty362100 it's good for defrosting that's about it
I thought that first button stood for convection oven.
Update: It does stand for convection oven in the manual.
