The mosque you saw it wasn't called Sultan Abdul Samad, instead it called Masjid Jamek, the oldest mosque in Kuala Lumpur. Sultan Abdul Samad building is the main building with clock tower at Independence Square (Dataran Merdeka) which you missed it. The sellers in China Town mostly Bangladeshis and Nepaleses, not Pakistanis. They are hired by the Malaysian owners mostly Malaysian Chinese as locals reluctant to do the jobs and its cheaper to hire Bangladeshis or Indians. In Malaysia, the highest number unskilled foreign workers are from Indonesia more than 1 million, followed by Bangladeshis reaching 600,000.
