Aside from that Jack raised Matt in an unorthodox environment where he was surrounded by dealers and etc... Jack knew if Matt stayed in that environment he'd adapt to the worse so there the Catholic was the better option.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the other nuns used her fragile state to manipulate her into rejoin the order. It wouldn’t be the first time churches manipulated fragile people

The age gap is intentional. The nun Maggie, a pious naïve young Woman, became seduced by a bringer of violence. A boxer, Jack a matured and well weathered Man whose life subsist of brutish bloodsport. He asked for help and she, in her good nature, helped him. Its a relationship you're not supposed to feel comfortable with. Maggie wasn't, she felt like she abandoned god and committed horrible sin. An angel, seduced by the Devil and raising his son. This family would have never worked and that's part of what makes up the tragedy of the life of Matt Murdock.
Love it. That’s why I love this show. Matt Murdock is literally the child of an Angel and The Devil. And it was the Angel who left while the Devil stayed to raise him. And he raised him in the (mostly) right path.
This symbolises how Matt and Fisk are different. Fisk's mom supported him because they both knew what they did, they knew that they killed a person and had no pain in it. While Matt's mother left him which troubled her for her whole life, she could never bring herself to see or talk to her son again because she felt pain.
I wouldn't say the men characters, per say, are different because of the women characters, but the moms are different and the trauma/importance of both influential people in their lives helped them grow to be the same, better men.

That last part with lantom and jack staring at each other, to me that was symbolic of 2 sides of the same coin for matt. The supposed angels (lantom and maggie) left matt with a demon (or THE devil which is his father) and all this time matt struggled growing up as what hell was supposed to be. His own devil grew but his part of being an angel also grew (when he was in the school with lantom). He saw his dad doing the devil's work and so he did daily grinds at school and fighting other kids but deep down he has this conscience of which angels give him at the end of the day. Father figures too play parts in his life. His dad taught him to have heart and keep on going, Lantom taught him to have a conscience and fight his inner self and Stick taught him to fight and toughen up and beat enemies up. Its sad to think that one would really turn up as the devil when you come from a tragedy just as the biblical devil did too. Its good matt took up the mantle and be our favorite guardian devil

He rebelled against his Creator and got kicked out of heaven with the other fallen angels who followed him. He knows he loses in the end. Like how in ep 9 nice she admitted to abandoning Matt at least she didn't try to kill Matt like in the OG story just gave her the depression and anxiety of being a mother and not waiting until marriage to have sex and a baby. Glad Matt forgave her and they are trying to patched things up she took him being a vigilante Blind Superhero rather well too I may add I mean she didn't freak out at all just gave him a lectures.

While yes she had post partum depression she rationalized it as gods punishment for quiting her vows, but jack genuinely loved her that's why he called father lathom to take her to the order because Maggie wasn't even able to take care of matt(whom she perceive at the time the embodiment of her sin) which ultimately ended with Maggie leaving and jack to raise there son the best he could. Which lead to Matt's eventual future both literally and metaphorically

All that vainglorious prayer amounts to absolutely nothing. She prays to God but she is an utter stranger to him and his love. Otherwise Maggie would have known that’s not what God wanted. That entire Catholic community is also very much guilty for aiding her in abandoning her responsibility.

Never read the comics but when I watched the Daredevil movie, I always wondered what happened to Matt's mother. I'm glad they explained it in the show
