    Works a whole lot better when its warm. Bring her in, mix a drink and let it warm up.

    I have been riding snowmobiles since the 70s and I never do this just take the rear suspension out it's easy compared to this and then you can replace other parts if needed

    I’ve changed these quite a few times. I now drill a hole in the old one once it is through the track hole. I put a bolt in the hole and use a sliding hammer to pull it off.

    Do you break in new slides? Run for about 1-1.5 miles then let them cool to temper them?

      I go out and I’m bolt my carriage and bring it in my kitchen and replace everything in the carriage also use more bogey wheels in my carriage adds six more pounds but makes my high fax lasted way longer even riding in low snow or no snow conditions I get two or three years out of my slides when I add more bogey wheels

    Where you buy that sled lift.?

    I just removed my skid getting ready to replace these. But the old ones are 2.5" short of the end. Yours look closer to the end should I cut the new ones maybe 2" longer? Leave about half inch bare?

    • @3sixtynorth
      @3sixtynorth  Před 3 lety +1

      The rails taper off at the end, so if you leave half an inch or inch and a half you'll be ok.

    What's the brand of the dual sled stand in the background?

    • @redfieldsapprentice4489
      @redfieldsapprentice4489 Před 4 lety +1

      The stand is a Pogo Lift. Made in Canada. Can be configured to hold a sled and a quad, two sleds. Two quads. Latest version I believe has a higher capacity and can hold a SxS. I’ve also modified mine to hold a streetbike.

    Can you safely add pieces to the ends if you cut it too short

    • @3sixtynorth
      @3sixtynorth  Před 2 lety +2

      We don't recomend doing that, as the pieces might come off as you are riding.

      @@3sixtynorth thats what I was thinking as well I was told that it would be ok to run them short and it wouldnt hurt anything theyre 6 inches too short I just dont feel comfortable running them that short an inch or 2 I can see not 6

    You failed to mention that the track Windows need to be cut for this method to work..... as for me.... It's only four bolts to remove and I am all done

    • @3sixtynorth
      @3sixtynorth  Před rokem +1

      I'm not sure what track you are running but theres no cutting of windows involved

  • @ericneering6357

    That is a ton more bogey wheels to my sled where the high fax go and I can make mine even in no snow conditions last a year or two years without replacing a ride proximately 1000 miles a season but at least 300 of that is a no snow got an air cooled machine friend of mine put a radiator in his machine and he rides with me and no snow condition the stuff they’re making us believe is all about making them a profit

  • @ericneering6357
    @ericneering6357 Před 2 lety

    Slides let’s get rid of them they put micro plastics everywhere you can’t get 500 miles on them in the wrong conditions they’re hard on the environment and when would you drag something across the floor bring back bogey wheels better for the environment and should make a sled really faster
