Always measure to the OUTSIDES of each carbide bolt, this way you can hook your tape measure on it. Plus 1/8” still applies the same way. Way more consistent than your buddy who’s 4 beers in looking to see if your tape is in the exact center of the carbide bolt. Ask me how I know 😂

Nice was thinking if bolts are set down too low into ski maybe trying a 3/8 all threaded rod coupling with a short piece of 3/8 threaded rod to extend up higher and have something hook onto. And measure from left side to left side on the rod same thing as center to center

I've got a lot to look at on my ZR7000. It had single runners when I got it and it was a dangerous level of darting. I put on 6" woody's slim jims and it doesnt dart at all but you can't make a turn under power to save your life, it will push right through the corner and off the trail. I'm going to start with center shock preload and possibly switch to Curve XS or C&A's with a single runner and some sort of navigator. Good video.

Nice video guys. My first ride many, many, many moons ago, lol, was a 69 Scorpion. The engine sat on top of the tunnel up high. The front end was light. I remember having to hang off and lean on the side you wanted it to go. I didn`t ride for alot of years, then got a Yamaha Exciter 1. It handled pretty good. The next machine was a Yamaha Exciter 2 that also handled real well. I should`ve kept it. The next one was a Yamaha V Max 600. The engine was way up front and very low and it had a short track, a one-up sled. That thing was ALL over the trail because the front was soooo heavy compared to the other sleds I owned. I bought as wide as possible metal ski that was flat. They were from a different manufacturer, but I made them work. It took most of the darting out. And if I had a smaller person riding with me, no darting. I know a longer track would have helped. I think everyone just made the fronts too heavy. Take care

@@JESSEJAMES322 Thanks for responding. I struggle to remember if I set it up for toe out or toe in like a car. I think the Yamaha dealer probably told me to do toe out. However, I can`t pull up that part of our conversation, yet. My earliest memory is at about 6 months old in the city park with all the sounds and smells. I was on sensory overload! The birds, wind, butterflies, dogs barking, kids laughing, the smell of the grass, cars honking their horns, THEN I remember, with a flash-back of being in the womb, hearing only liquidly swooshing sounds, seeing the sun come through my moms belly, bumping elbows with my 2 brothers, and for the life of me, I can`t remember if the Yama-dealer told me toe in or toe out!!! lol Take care snomo-brothers!

Screw an all thread coupling onto the carbide studs, gets you above the sides of ski and a surface to hook your tape measure on. Takes the eye balling out of it.

I know you boys are sponsored / backed up what ever…. I have not tried the c&a ski setup yet. But the stockers with bergstrom triple points work pretty amazing too. Shims carbides and ski savers run $400 Canadian with our ridiculous tax. Worth every penny imo. I’d love to compare the c&a and triple points / stock set up w/ you guys see what ya think. But after buying my new to me 23 xcr can’t afford over a grand for new c&a with carbides. Yes I priced them. Yes I’m Canadian. And yes that’s the price to put on my machine with again the triple
    Points.

weve touched on it many times regarding stock skis. Bruce likes the pro steers witha good carbide. i even like them but 9 times out of 10 the C&A will out perform the stock ski. does not mean the stock ski is junk but we like to promote how to get the best handling sled and that is with upgraded skis

My solution to darting or tracking , 1/8 inch of toe in , 3 to 5 degrees of positive chamber , and the most important thing of all ? SLYDOG SKIS , 8 inch Powder Hounds , 10 inch carbines , and I’m a trail rider , learn and see how the bottoms work & look , best. Skis I ever had ! And I ride on Wild side ! Welcome to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan ! 144 inch switchback , SLP Performance Edition Motor , MEEP MEEP ! You see snow dust ! Let go of the handle bars at 100 mph , tracks dead straight , p.s.
