    This is my dream come true! I would buy one but there is no electrical at my ski spot. You guys should design one that runs on gas.

      @towproliftsllc  Před 2 lety +4

      There’s a reason the gas version doesn’t exist, it would be way less dependable not to mention the problems associated with variable speed and torque.
      However you can run this one on a generator and we have done it already in some very remote regions

      And maybe buy a generator?

    Have been searching for something like this for my kids but 8k man . Not possible for us I’ll build my own for 500 or less

    • @towproliftsllc
      @towproliftsllc  Před rokem +1

      we offer support through parts and ideas on how to make it work if you are interested. Fair warning: $500 MIGHT be enough to get you just the rope depending on your length, but we are pretty sure its impossible to build an entire tow on that budget, and thats considering used components too. We make things that are brand new, high quality and when you consider the complexity of what a rope tow is, well, our price is very affordable, in fact its the best deal on earth for the kind of equipment we make. look at a brand new snowmobile (14-20k$) and that only can take maybe 3 people up an average hill every 5 -6 minutes and thats with someone driving it in circles, our smallest tow can do 3-4 people every minute on the same hill. We do wish you the best of luck and are eager to see your results!

      Building our own too. Stumbled on this looking for ideas. Would have been a cool product. But 10x too expensive. Could buy a nice boat for that price.

    For almost $10k I want this thing to be ready to go in about 5 minutes. To be viable, you need price point to drop by at least 50% imo

    • @towproliftsllc
      @towproliftsllc  Před 2 lety +6

      if you have a few friends 5 minutes is actually almost attainable for shorter runs haha, we understand that this price is not what most would expect but we have to ask that you take a look at the costs of materials and labor in our equipment and then understand that we are a new business. also: what are you comparing us to? a snowmobile costs $20,000 and is arguably worse at performing the specific task of moving people up a short hill. There just isn't anything else out there on the market like this. You may be able to make something with used equipment that could be comparable but not better and it would certainly cost around 5000$ or more if you include your time designing and building it. We encourage and support the DIY rope tow community with parts and intel, this product is not for those people. its for those who don't want to spend their time tinkering and who can afford the most cost effective surface lift solution available We are hopeful the backyard 2.0 launching next year WILL impress you with a reduced price and increased functions. looking forward to see you on the slopes \m/

      @@towproliftsllc yea 10k is steep i dont care what explanation you have.

    • @towproliftsllc
      @towproliftsllc  Před rokem +1

      @@grubbyy I'm not sure what you're comparing us to? steep is a relative term right so you must have a solution in mind? I mean the alternative of hiking is definitely both ubiquitous and much more affordable. but I think we all understand why our product already has hundreds of adopters. as for other alternatives: if you're going to say a snowmobile then you're going to have to take a second look at their prices... and building your own rope tow could be more affordable if you have the knowhow and the tools already, and if not we can help supply those custom parts for your build too... To me, when you say you don't care about the explanation, its saying two things to me: the price is something you cannot afford, (that is ok we understand not everyone can afford to have the luxury of having their own lift in their yard, or their own brand new car, or a boat etc.) But it also says to me that you don't care about the product, its history, what it takes to make it and what our mission is... maybe if you looked a little deeper you might see a cause you could get behind. Think about the kids around the world who will be benefitting from municipal rope tows someday. Lift tickets and food prices are pricing people out of our sport, we think rope tows are the answer through local hills and municipalities, thats what we are working towards! Peace and love to you dude!

      Outrageously priced. You can ski at home for just the price of ten years worth of season passes. 😢

      how long of a run? the rope alone will cost you 3 times that for a standard length.... what are you gonna use for a motor, if you think we are price gouging you are mistaken, find me an example of this mythical 200$ rope tow and I will buy it for you 100%
