Actually, it was Volk who was supposed to Ko Islam in the first round. It was his only chance. Islam beat him in his own game.

I'll be real I think we saw Kamaru get his mojo back yesterday. Round one was hard, but he survived and came back to land the better shots the rest of the fight and deny more than 50% of Chimaev's takedowns. As he did that he became more confident and by the end I think he knew he was back and in a big way.
This was 2 fights and one year ago. He lost a decision to the same dude and a decision to one of the former top contenders in his weight class. You're talking like he's been finished three times in a row or something 🤣

Islam Makachev is a fantastic fighter! All the clowns that said he didn't win the first fight can shut up. Nothing against Volk, he's great. Makachev is in a league of his own right now. I wish he could promote himself better, but he doesn't have the aggressive attitude that sells.

I would say most UFC fans are idiots. They don't understand the sport or the business, but identify with a fighters persona the way kids identify with a pro-wrestler.

this fight shouldn't have happened... no excuses but I feel like Volk was robbed of a fair fight, give both men proper time to prepare and go through training camps this fight would've been much closer. Volk made a mistake accepting this figh in very short notice.

I think it has less to do with his ego and more so the fact that we as a community celebrate having the guts to take a late notice to fight a little too much. That sort of thing is practically drilled into fighters when they start their career and no one bothers to tell them to *_STOP_* once they’ve made it cuz when you don’t take it people start throwing accusations around
