I hope that Drew in his heart knows he started it all. He is the one that gave football life in NE when he was drafted. He made it exciting to watch Pats games again. He and Brett Favre have 2 of the strongest arms I ever saw. HE brought the team back to winning and a SB in 96. I will always be grateful for Drew for reigniting the tradition of winning that led us down that historic path. Thank you Drew

I heard a joke a long time ago and I wish I could remember the comedian. The first word that comes to mind when I see Bledsoe is "Gravitas". You can analyze the story of him in New England all you want, but anyone who sees an interview with him knows he is a leader and that when he talks, people listen. Nothing but respect for the man

I was 20 an felt the same way, loved that guy with my all football heart, still do, before bledsoe was a nightmare the first season I watch we were 1-15, he was definitely a savior.
I was 22 and was tired of 5-11 seasons and was super happy when we started actually winning with Brady. We 100% don't win the 2001 Superbowl if Brady isn't the QB. In fact we don't even make the playoffs. Its another 5-11 season, Bill gets fired. Drew stays the QB because of his contract and we don't get to see Brady start until like 2003. So many things would have been messed up if Brady doesn't start when he did.
@@shawnsanders9450yeah I loved BLEDSOE but I had been watching him for 7 years and I felt he was just not a winner like Brady was. Brady had that Derek Jeter IT factor that I couldn't put my finger on. I still loved Drew, he turned around the franchise and was tough as nails!

You would throw the most unopened time of interceptions which turned out to be really bad I was at a game maybe 97 maybe 98 against Pittsburgh our number one enemy back then and we were winning he went to do a screen or dump pass to Dave meggett out of the backfield and he threw it right into the Defenders hands! a defensive end to boot and we lost the game, it was so crushing and the worst interception I think I've ever seen someone throw but it will never take away big picture of what Drew Bledsoe meant to the Patriots

Met Drew and Zolak in ‘96 at Little Stevie’s Pizza in Boston at 2:30 in the morning after a playoff win. They were clearly celebrating hard, and Drew bought slices for the line. Got to chat for a few with both of them- solid guys, appreciated the fans- and the haters- and they were a memory that will never be forgotten! Even though we were ALL celebrating…

I became a Pats fan in 2003 at 6 years old, but I wish I could've seen Drew play at his best. 10 year 100 million deal in 2000 was unheard of, and after watching some of the old highlights I see why. Amazing QB, and it's good to see him successful after football

As a kid Drew was my favorite player when he was on the Bills, It was awesome to see him at the roast and I never knew he was funny as hell. Always thought he was a robot but he has a great sense of humor

I was at the roast Sunday and it was epic.To hear you both talk about the behind the scenes and the making of adds to the entire experience. Drew is a legend and absolutly killed it. Hime starting it off was pefect. As someone born in Boston and liveing in CA, I'll always be a Blesoe fan. He's a legend and is a mainstay in the fabrib of the Patriots Dynasty. Edleman in ,y opinion is a future hall of famer. Nobody balled out more then he did in the playoffs or in this roast. Keep it up and please bring Drew back.

I was 14 when Drew was drafted...He made it fun to watch games again...We had Vincent Brisby and Micheal Timpson and an emerging Ben Coates. As we hit the mid-90s they added Curtis Martin Terry Glenn and Shawn Jefferson. Those were fun offenses to watch because Drew could throw the ball as far as he wanted. Loved it

I met Drew during his 3rd or 4th year at training camp. First time that I’ve ever been star struck… and we are the same age. He commands a room like nobody that I’ve ever met. He had to have been hand carved by Zeus. He has impressive height, mannerisms, intelligence and gravitas like I’ve never seen before.
I really enjoy the input from the boys behind the scenes. Makes the show for me. Julian is made for this. In the fifties he'd have a smokers jacket on with a scotch in his hand. Keep it up boys
The most cringe worthy part I thought was when Brady looked directly in Jules face and said he’ll never be me, that was so not needed and was very awkward

Overall very entertaining roast - Affleck was the low point. Oh man, Bill Burr in Affleck’s spot would have made the evening perfect.

Just finished watching the roast and started watching this episode and just wanted to write that Jules killed at the roast. I laughed my ass off. Bravo, Jules! A man of many great talents!
Honestly, these two had the best sets of the night, outside of the comedians. Their material was good and their delivery was great. It’s also refreshing to hear they had more input on the material than I expected. I would’ve thought it was 90% written by comedians, both the ones on stage and outside of the roast. And some of it was, since Julian mentioned Sam Morrill helping and on the Rich Eisen show, Brockman said his wife wrote some material for it. But still, it sounds like quite a bit more of the jokes were written by each person than I expected.
And like Drew, I enjoyed Nikki’s set most. I was cracking up the whole time.
Glad you did this! Tony was a beast. Nikki did well. I enjoyed it. I love Drew. He was my first favorite QB. Being a young kid watching him with my Dad, a lot of good memories
