Hope you liked this video, please leave a like and subscribe, I mean why not, it’s free and really helps the channel.
One of the best videos you've done Paul. Music, angles, speed on time playback, and build generally. Really good. Hotshot is one of the best buggies. Vintage-Boss. oh-yer.
Yerhh its awesome. Thank very much for the feedback. Appropriated.
I had received a bonus from work in 1985 and went to a hobby store where I laid eyes on the Hot Shot and was hooked. I loved building and running it. (It was $300 then and about $700 in today's dollars.) Eventually, I stopped running it, and it sat for years before selling it.
Now, I wish I had kept it.
My worst regrets in life are always about RC's I have sold on. I swear I'll never do it again.
I love the way you say “yuuup” after you finish talking lol😅
Yuup....lol
I'm having flashbacks to building my Boomerang back in 1988. 🙂🇦🇺
I had one back in the day but have never built one. Having the re-release would be good.
@@FullOnRC
Well you've probably built 80% of one considering they use the Hotshot gearboxes. 🙂
Mine didn't really come to life until I swapped in a Tamiya gold motor. Then it compete with those Wild Ones and Hornets on the tracks. Before it was just too slow.
Yerhh the stock small motor is pants. Needs a little extra push for it to be fun. Enjoy yours.
Hi Paul, hope you’re keeping well. I think it sounds like my build of the Subaru Brat, I had to open all the bags to select the correct screws etc…when I was building the CC02 chassis, everything was in the bag on a per step range. I enjoy both methods, but I think the favourite would be getting stuck into all the bags, just makes you feel more absorbed into the build. The Hotshot, is a classic and what with the brushless motor setup, I’m sure it’s going to be a flying machine ! Great build video. Take care, keep well and all the best to you and the family 😉😊😁
Cheers @John Foster RC yerhh I agree it's better to just dig through a box of screws rather than stopping starting each step. It's good to just get knee deep into RC sometimes. We are all good my friend and good wises to you and your family too. Thanks for tuning in.
What a beautiful looking buggy the Hotshot is!
You did a nice job mate👌, and that brushless system in the Hotshot is such a compliment to the buggy👍.
Thanks for sharing your video👍🦘🇦🇺
Thanks to you for the great compliment. Cheers @Outback RC Australia 🇦🇺
Great video Paul love the look the hotshot very low slung buggy and looks a quality kit build nice job 👍👍
Cheers @Craig roberts. Yerhh I was suprised at the way it just sits so well. Think it would make a good Tamiya Basher. Thanks for stopping by my friend.👍
Totally agree, it is a beautiful buggy. Nice build.
Yerhhh It sure is. I really didn'nt know what to expect TBH, but I am happy with the end result. Thanks for stopping by @Mattias RC.
Hi Paul awesome build really enjoyed it but I thank you fitted the roof on backwards mate.
Wow nice one @Gary Morris, well spotted. Rectified it now cheers. I would never have known. I need to pay more attention LOL
@@FullOnRC Your welcome mate, glad to help.
Been looking forward to this one especially because I wanted to see those mono-shocks get put together.
Really interesting design overall for this buggy and great build it seems :)
Yerhhh looking forward to opening this up once we get a break in the weather. Thanks for tuning in @Aaron Foster and welcome to the channel.
@@FullOnRC Looking forward to the run especially with your new GoPro's, should look really sweet. Hopefully the weather doesn't take long to clear up 😉
And no problem, thanks for continuing to do the builds :)
@@kspectre21 Done a build video tonight, but the Go-pro crashed and lost all the footage on the Sd card...........Thought about stripping the back end back down and starting again, but could'nt face it.
Awesome build Paul can't wait to see some of your recent builds out and running with the new gopro
You and me both Mate. Just need to pull my finger out and get it done. Thanks for tuning in @William Thompson.
@@FullOnRC lol
Good job man I’m building my hotshot rn love it set is dope my first one too
That's a pretty cool kit to be your first, there is no way back now my friend. You are a Starving Landlord now. Wait till your 12 months in. LOL. Welcome to the channel Pal.
@@FullOnRC yeah I know I’m hooked already looking on my next set haven’t even finished this one yet. Love this stuff 💯💯
I ordered me a hotshot...wish they would use sstl hex head screws in stead of Phillips screws.....
Yerhhh I agree. Getting the Tamiya screwdriver set helps.
👍🏼 👍🏼
Cheers Pal.

A little known fact. Most people think that Tamiya gives a ton of grease in the kit. When in actual fact you're supposed to use all the grease on the build. If you have some left over you skimped. Cleverly this makes the build a bit of a strategy as you need to look through the manual first and see where and when you need grease before using too much in step 1 and have nothing left at step 378.
Cook. I use my own grease so I can lube it up as and when. Always felt like you don't get enough with the kits.
@@FullOnRC Yeah. Too right mate. Having left overs to "Save for later" is waaay not enough in the build. Love your work mate.
@Iron Maiden thanks pal. I use marine grease. Buy the bug pots. It's easy to clean out the gearbox when you run in sand and the packed in grease keeps it away from the gears. Thanks for tuning in.
@@FullOnRC I use waterproof grease that I discovered when I started riding dirt bikes.
Bet that's awesome. What type of bike do you ride? I have had a few sports bikes myself. Had a few Honda VFR's. Best years of my life when me and Steph used to ride about.
Did you replace the plastic bearings with ball bearings?
Always. Find bearing sizes and buy them cheap on Ebay.
Nice 👍
what grease/lubricant do you use in the gear boxes?
www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B009M4K3Y8/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_PAZERE70AK0TTRQXTCVT?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Did it come with ball bearings?
It did not.
@@FullOnRC thank you 😊
