It's the completeness of the 'tips' and the fact they're not just given in isolation that helps. Too many other channels don't teach in the round, but just churn out quick fixes with no reference to other potential issues.
Adam's repetition of key points like set up and takeaway might bore some people, but I've come to realise that they can't be over stated enough.
Often repeated on here I know, but easily the best instruction on CZcams.

Eye opening for me was comment most amateurs have slow hands - thought it was the opposite. My takeaway is good but I struggle with over the top hunched over at impact, hips not open. Made me realize I need to speed hands early down and under. Trail elbow racing back pocket to ball is also a great swing thought.

Adam and Todd this is simply the best series of golf institutions I have ever seen, you both give concise but simple instructions on the golf swing that I think any golfer can benefit from. As for me I now know where a lot of my inconsistencies come from as I was playing more around my body than underneath finding a lot more power and consistency now once again thank you both a big fan from Australia.

I always had a question on how I know my back swing is fully loaded and ready to downswing. This lesson gave me an answer. Feeling loaded on the right gluteus. Oh...man it fixed all my problems like over the top swing, early extension and inconsistent rotation, etc. I'm one of those who keeps improving my swing after watching this channel. THANK YOU!

So many good points. My best days are always when my I am loading properly and making a complete backswing. When those things happen, the rest of the swing just comes really naturally. My biggest issue is all in the consistency, I will know if a shot will be bad before I even start the downswing if I am not feeling the proper load.

This was incredible. I've been fighting a reverse K (back leg straight) for years. It really showed with wedges because I couldn't turn fast enough. The 1" hip bump was a game changer, but with the driver being longer, I still randomly fight that back straight leg with reverse tilt to the target. This video was incredible. The explanation of the relationship between the belt buckle and arms was perfect and the Mahommes story about his back leg makes complete sense and gave me an "ah ha" moment. Really appreciate your videos. Handicap down from 16 to 11 so thank you, thank you, and thank you!

Three tips helped a lot. First, the perpendicular movement back of the trail hip. Now I understand the pressure transfer to the trail heal near the top of the backswing. Second, the uppercut analogy and how the trail shoulder moves. And a because of that, a third thing became clear with the start of the downswing correcting over the top.

    Great video, as usual PG!
Trail hip perpendicular is the move that most people miss, but it’s HUGE! That gets the pelvis actually turning correctly around the spine, because in order to turn AROUND the spine, the hips must move back and away to the top, down and forward back to square at impact, and then back and away again after impact. Sounds simple, but people forget the most important part…
THE SPINE IS ON THE BACK OF YOUR BODY, NOT YOUR CHEST…
Read that again. When it clicks, your swing will start to improve immediately. Good luck, y’all 🍀

Shoulder turn Vs Turning Torso, this shows how the terminology of golf training causes many issues for us Hackers. Like shallowing the club, roll the right forearm clockwise or tuck the right elbow or let the clubhead fall back or whatever feel works for you, but if the teacher only tells you one feel 75% or more don't get it.
A little while back I stopped trying to turn my shoulders and started ensuring my torso turns (my feel is chest) and I now have a swing not a slap.
Obviously that's not the only thing, but it fixed so much.

  • @alanunikel1414

Best tip: Complete/Start backswing by moving shoulder blade to center of spine...then hands/arms have to swing FAST. However, those tips were preceded by proper setup n pressure shift!! Since I started swinging hands/arms FAST at the ball, the ball goes much straighter and further. Straighter probably because my hands n hips were finally in 'sequence' to arrive at impact square. It works for driver as well.

      @guitar1950 Před 11 měsíci

Maybe Adam & Todd can explain this more in detail. Yes, Pete Cowan says the trail hip moves up but he also says it moves back. Watch Todd and Adam as they demonstrate the move. Their belt line doesn't stay parallel to the ground (horizontal), it is slightly tilted. The right hip is higher than the left. If they kept their knees and hips level to the ground, then they would only be turning the hips and the trail hip would move back and not up. A small amount of knee flex in the trail leg is lost in the backswing even though we don't straighten the leg. The lead leg gains flex. Therefore, the trail hip does go up as the lead hip goes down.
This is why golf instruction is confusing. In an effort to emphasize a point, instructors don't fill in all the gaps. Most of us amateur golfers take tips and specific movements to heart and get out of sequence in our swings. Frustration sets in and we jump from one instructor to another looking for the magic secret.

You are making it seem as if the hands move separately from the chest and the upper body; but that is not right. In fact it is the muscles in the upper body (obliques last , etc.) that rotate to Drive the Hands! THINK OF IRON BYRON, WHERE THE CENTRAL MOTOR ROTATES TONDRIVE THE ATTACHED SHAFT AND CLUB. THE CENTRAL ROTOR SEMMS TO BE ROTATING SLOWLY, BUT THE CLUB HEAD IS MOVIG MUCH MORE RAPIDLY. So, this idea of throwing the hands down is not a good idea. In fact, gravity and upper body rotation work together to get the hands and arms down fast, and the continued upper body rotation flings the arms and hands(like a Frisbee) into and thru impact.

"weight wants to go where it hasn't been?" Well we know he wasn't a physics major. It sounds cute but it's corny and not necessarily true. Weight is simply the force of gravity. This force isn't free to send objects willy nilly. Only toward the earth. Sorry...didn't mean to go all nit-picky but this statement made me go "huh?"
