Jiminy Friggin' Christmas, guys. This is why writers write. If I could FedEx everyone a beer I would. Thanks a billion for the awesome work.
Joshua Hood Can we use that quote as an advertisement? LOL "Chilling Tales for Dark Nights: This is Why Writers Write." Sounds good to us!
Ha! Knock yourself out.Though given enough time I'm sure I could come up with something a little more eloquent. :p
Joshua Hood Hey Joshua- I'll be sending you your own personal copy of the theme song;)
Woohoo!
Joshua Hood Hi! Just giving you a thumbs up on the very suspenseful story. When they went out to get the body, I was at the edge of my seat. I could not tell what was going to happen! Your story delivered on everything!
Hurrah, another long tale to listen to before sleep… perhaps not a sane idea, but rather soothing. An excellent collaboration of some of my personal favourite narrators.
Nell Ross if you want soothing but horror, go to the channel Horrorbabble. Ian Gordon does the majority of the narration and he is amazing. I personally enjoyed this although I too listened to go to sleep lol. Woke up from a 3 hour nightmare and restarted it.
I still love watching haunting videos with real footage just before bed. Should be asleep but nooooooo, I got 3 more short ghost videos at 2 am to watch!
I really enjoyed this, really well-written and the twist at the end is just great, unlike most stories where it was forced. The performers really did well for this story and honestly, it almost has that 80's horror movie vibe to it especially with the rock music at the end, haha. I'd like to see this adapted into a short film, it would fit with one of those anthology horror films in my opinion :)
TheNotoriousKAZ86 for sure I totally agree this should be made into a short film
I agree 100%
Yeah man yanno it would make a mint creepshow, tales from the Crypt, Darkside... type show it would be dark as, and creepy as fuck.
Absolutely! CTFDN, if you’re looking for your next film project, this would be a great place to start!
Poor misunderstood Bigfoots.
SFF180 Bigfeets... It's bigfeets... or would it be Bigfeetses... or would it be- ah hell, we'll just call 'em Orang Pendek.
Sasquatches
Bryce Scott Almas
+Jesse Cornett orang pendek are small like hobbits
it has to be those got damn mr bigfeets
+SFF180 I think Bigfeet sounds better than Bigfoots.
I know this was 5 years ago, but everyone was marvelous narrating the story! I love listening to your channel because you guys always adds small sfx and best voice actors. Cheers!
It was a pleasure to work on this project. The story was a joy to read and Jesse's production and sound design just nailed it. Thanks for the feedback... it makes it all worthwhile. The previous statement to be read in a "thick British accent" :)
Well, good evening kiddies... Looks like you have chosen another morsel of malevolence to chomp away on- remember, it is always polite to share, so hand a heaping helping of horror to some one you love or want to torture! XD
Thank you everyone for your masterful performances; Peter, Brendan, Sarianna, Rebecca, Jon, Otis, Steve, Andrea & Joseph! A big round of applause goes to Josh Hood for penning a great story to bring us all together on!
...and a hand to all those behind the scenes that help bring these stories to you and me; Craig, Jeff, Jason, Luke, Brandon and all the Chilling Tales Team of narrators, voice actors, writers, editors and musicians for their hard work! You all brought this to life for everyone, including the biggest fan, me:)
Awww. They were trying to help.... I have to admit I didn't see that coming.

yes!!!! please that's my dream!
Chilling Tales - True Scary Stories & Creepypastas k
So many badass narrators!! Otis and jessie alone would've gotten my like!
Wow, I didn't see that ending coming.
Isabelle Podrasky I don’t understand it
@@diehardoutdoors the werewolves/bigfeet saved a guy from a car wreck, dropped him off at a gas station. The main guy Paul went to bring him inside, and thought the monsters had been setting a trap instead, so shot at them. Basically, our "hero" shot at the real ones.
@@juliannah5721 that made no sense though: why did the creatures stick around? Why not just leave? How else was anyone supposed to interpret that other than a trap?
I did not get this at all.
Friendly Bigfoot
This is the best story. Its a thriller and it also promotes kindness
Another great story, well written and beautifully presented I really enjoyed it. I have changed the ending to suit myself and choose to believe the Sasquatch carried away and saved their compassionate big brother. ;-)
92 Cents a gallon?! Dude, that 8 dollars will go further than you think. Even if the coffee was a dollar, you'd still have enough to get 7 full gallons of gas. Which, even for my Explorer, is damn near a full tank. I can only _imagine_ how it'd be for a LeBaron. Sure, you'd have to forego the pie, but hey...such is life.
Shawnee Longbow Perhaps this story took place in the late '70s or early '80s. One of the characters talk about being in Vietnam, and no one seems to have cell phones. That would explain why the gas was so cheap.
Even so. Eight dollars goes further than _He_ was thinkin' it would. As a person born in '78, I can actually remember when gas was that cheap. And at that rate, a good five or six dollars would be enough to damn near fill up your car.
Shawnee Longbow no it doesn't. Not in that time anyways. To us now that's $6 a gallon compartment to $2.75-$3.43 a gallon. and since they didn't get paid like it's either that would be half his paycheck right there. Also call then $25 got you food for a month.
Aiden MercyKill What the hell are you even talkin' about?! You're overthinking it. And worse yet, you're overthinking it incorrectly. 100 pennies has *always* equalled a dollar. Always. If you've got a full 8 dollars in your pocket, and 1 gallon of gas doesn't even cost a full dollar, you tell me how many gallons of gas you can get with that 8 dollars, dumbass. Then subtract 1 for the coffee, and tell me whether it's enough to damn near fill up a teeny-ass LeBaron or not. Come on, people. Smh..
What? You want me to teach you how to tell time next?
Such a *fantastic production!* _Nobody_ does it better than *CTFDN!* ❤🖤 I never get tired of this story.. have listened to it several times.. how time flies!
"Greasy apron" sounds a lot like Lee (almost exactly the same) from the walking dead games.
trey william Bren sounds "kinda" close to lee,but take a look at his channel and youll see the difference.
I thought "greasy apron" sounded a bit like Markiplier.
trey william It's Dukelovesyou, The most beautiful narrator on all youtube.
Huh, I guess you're right... but their voices both sound so similar, and they both have the same first name...
A good reminder that we are our worst enemies at times, worse than the worst thing our imaginative brains could ever come up with. A good reminder that the human rational brain, once gripped with the fear of the unknown and possessed with the instinct to survive, is more dangerous than the mythos all around us. Awesome story :) thanks. Keep it up. I'm a fan now
Oh man! I love y'all's fake metal glam rock! It's so Alan Wake I love it!
i kept thinking "that kind of sounds like, Dio? Maiden?"
MarutoFighter oh man Alan Wake was the best!
People still remember that game? I thought I was the only one.
@@greywalker505 yup! It’s even more relevant now days cuz of the sequel coming out soon.
@@MooseKINGstudios
Sequel? A real sequel this time, not like that spin-off?
FAVORITE CAMPFIRE STORY OF ALL TIME. When I get older I'm telling my kids of this one.
+Brandon Moore That's a pretty long campfire story! ;)
This is why I subscribed to you guys. Absolutely amazing writing and voice acting.
The song at the end is just oh so amazing. It just oozes 80's nostalgia.
May I ask, what is the song called?
I am so loving this channel !!!!
Me too i just found it awhile ago . 👍👍✌️☠️♥️🗣️😁😈👹👺Love it !!!!!!!!
This is my favorite scary story now
This story easily ranks among my top 10 favorite CTFDN stories. Well done!
I've viewed this numerous times , yep story and music still rocking👍👌
Wow its 2020 now this was done 5 years ago . Still awesome 🔴⚪🔵✌️👍👍🐲🐲☠️👺
Lol, friggin Brendan... Never knew he was in this. Good stuff...
Thank you for your efforts in getting this story out on the channel!🙂✌
This is one of my new favourites! You guys are AMAZING together! Peter Bishop, you're an excellent narrator. Joshua, your writing was beautiful from moment one.
Just adding that this was everything I had hoped for in a new update... whether by coincidence or not, I am frickin' delighted!
OLDIE but GOODIE ♥️🙌🏽💯🙌🏽♥️
The music at the end is the cherry on the cake!! Amazing work.. 👍🎶🎵🖤❤
LIKE LIKE LIKE. Don't usually tune into multi-actor creepy tales bc it's hard to get the volume consistent. This one exceeded expectations. Great story
We do work awfully hard to ensure everything is properly mixed. :)
Brilliant.
This is my favorite from Chilling Tales for Dark Nights.....just perfect, I love it! I listen to it twice a week. It would make a great film, but I am very content with using my imagination to picture the scenes.
Jesse Cornett, Otis Jiry, Brendan Hurlbert, Peter Bishop, and the rest of you crazy cool cats at Chilling Tales For Dark Nights, Thank You So Much!!! You're all awesome, super awesome!

This is a very good story, sorry I can't find better words, lol. I just wanted to thank everyone involved with this production, you all did an excellent job. This story would be a perfect short film if you were to produce it. It doesn't even require any special effects, maybe some good costume designs, but it's stories like this one that stand out.
When sleep can't find me, I find chilling tales... BEST AUDIO HORROR ON CZcams!!!
OMG I NEED A CIGARETTE. Man that was a story . 😱😱😱😱😱😱
narrator sounds like the stanley parable narrator, LOVE IT
Holy fuck. The writing was incredible and the narration likewise. Also was a song made or remade just for this story?
The song was made specifically for the story, yes. Credit to Jesse Cornett!
This is the first audio story I listened to so many years ago. Thought I would come back
The way these stories are narrated are amazing. So much thought and care provides great ambiance! I will be supporting this channel.
Excellent story!!!!
Another great story from the past! Just shows how you guys have had supreme content for years! I appreciate being able to hear these awesome stories 😎
Mr. Jiry!!! You helped make an already great tale, SO much better. You're still the tops in my book, reminding me of my Grandpa (he had a deep voice & was a hell of a storyteller). Nothing like a deeply textured voice. Okay, I'm off to finish listening to the last half of this well narrated story! I've been looking for one with a special voice for each character. Thanks for sharing - Amanda M. Heath
Debbie Heath this isn't Otis jiry.
the vet was otis
That's why I said he HELPED make it BETTER, they were all great, I think his voice sent an already awesome story over the top. No offense meant, I loved it all!
debbie my comment was for alhassred01 :). he/she said on Oct 3, 2016 1Reply
"Debbie Heath this isn't Otis jiry."
oh and i wuv OJ too :P
You’ve done it again!!! Amazing 💗💗
I’m always coming back to this story, i just love it!
Good one, thank you ❤️🇬🇧
Brilliant, really good production guys. Love the mystery and the setting, don't know why but reminded me of that film identity for some reason. Good twist and begs the question, does horror always have to be evil or gruesome?
Great ending..... Wow!!! Definitely didn't think that the story was going that way....😱👍
What a great story,
and the way it wad told was like the old radio stories. EXCELLENT Work.
Just listened to this story a second time, I absolutely love the ambience of the story. The part with the security cameras really creeped me out! It kinda reminded me of a certain Stephen King story 😉
Love it !!!
Perfect, Just absolutely perfect. Good story, great narration.
Loved this one!
I really like these kinds of scary stories with multiple characters/voices ^~^ good job!
Great story and great work by the whole cast! 👍🏼
Good story! God Bless!
Brilliant story awesome narration! Thanks as always.
Awesome, loved this story.
Love to listen to more like it, great cast as well .
I love audiobooks like this
I love it! Great narration on everyone's part! Keep 'em coming.
Love the twist!!!!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤
Most captivating audiobook I've heard in a while. Great stories! Keep up the great work. I love these audiobooks/radio show type things and this is a good one :-)
Great story! Things aren't always what they seem! Next time I go to a truck stop I will be thinking of this story! Thanks!
loved it!
Very well written! Damn good story!
I love these stories. lol You can follow along like a movie. I love Creepypasta, but the Chilling Tales for Dark Nights, are always great
Also had some of my favorite authors :) I enjoyed this story very much
Good stuff! I really like how professionally these stories have been realized. Thank you!
Great episode! Love these full casted performance. Plus I always enjoy a good creature/monster feature, wished there was a playlist for that subgenre.
Sounds exactly like something I'd pull up on in the middle of nowhere. One can only hope.
Man, ensemble cast!
Y'all should CreepsMCPasta on here sometime I like what he does on his channel and to do something someone wrote as a scary story rather than a creepypasta I think he would do amazingly.
John Koons We appreciate the suggestion, and thanks for listening. At this time, we are looking to feature personalities and celebrities folks may not be expecting. We think you and others will be pleasantly surprised by our choices in 2015.
nice one, peter bishop narrating was a pick that paid off!
This is awesome!
great job.....loved it
that song at the end capped this off perfectly!
this was good. 30 minutes long but went so fast I haven't even noticed. Some longer story writers should learn how to write longer stories. Looking forward to more of these multiple narration stories.
Top notch radio drama. No juvenile ":creepy pasta" bullshit.
awesome story. great details
Can someone PLEASE explain the ending for me? I'm thoroughly confused :\
*spoilers* The beasts weren't trying to kill anyone. They saved the dying man's life. And the main character felt guilty for shooting one.
Oooohhhhh! Ok I had a feeling the creature pulled the man from the wreckage or something, but everything else was fuzzy to me. Thanks guys
A pathetic attempt at Stephen Kings, Maximum Overdrive 2.0 complete with, (an even worse) version of AC/DC soundtrack.
crystalmatu Well, that's your opinion. Overall I enjoyed the story and I was only confused about the ending
SunScales That doesn't explain why one of the creatures crouched down on all fours in an attack position and made growling and snarling noises *before* Paul started firing the gun. It's pretty common knowledge that certain animals go into a preditory-type position when they're being territorial, defending themselves, or about to pounce on a potential meal. The ending feels more like a tacked on attempt twist for a sympathetic angle, when it could've made for a good, disturbing "creature is still out there lurking" ending.
The writer's execution is a bit off, but I really like the ideas here. Reminds me of a classic Twilight Zone episode.
Great job as always, guys.
wow that wasn't expected. great story.
Good one!
Great story! Y'all assembled quite a team for this one. Best story I've heard in a while!
Alex Gagne Thank you Alex- It was quite a feat bringing everyone together for this one (especially since we are in all corners of the world really)- Thanks to (deep breath) Peter, Brendan, Sarianna, Otis, Rebecca, Jon, Andrea, Steve & Joseph- (Whew!) for the help in putting this one together:) ...and especially "Thank You" to Josh Hood for writing this story!
Hi, I'm new....every since i listen to "Fantasy Short Stories - Tamed By A Broken Beast" series audio books here on CZcams. I been hooked on the these great stories. I am a horror junky, so I came across this wonderful series. Cant wait to get into this ! ♥️🧡❤🖤💜💜💚
Has a Supernatural feel to it. A job for Sam and Dean Winchester! Awesome narration and story.
Began listening to this last night while walking home alone .. crazy enough there were no people outside. Had to s stop listening and wait to daylight to finish *-*
sakura Ahh, daylight- the disinfectant of the universe!
Awesome story telling.
Terrific performance by everyone. Peter Bishop /clap /clap /clap
Like many others, I listen to these as a fall asleep. Reeeeally appreciated the blaring rock music on the end there. Jesus.
Great story and definitely enjoyed the end music
It was custom made for this, too! It even incorporates the dialogue from the story into the lyrics!
I LOVE SCARY STORYS AND MOVIES!!!
I liked it. Very good story and it had a nice twist. Great voices, acting and production.
I could fall asleep to this guy, his voice is so soothing.
This is absolutely one of my favorite story from you guys! Please do more second person story with a full cast ! =D
Great story! The ending was completely unexpected and originaI. It was not your typical, predictable monster or horror story. I mean, it completely blindsided me! 😁
Good job mate!
