I pity the girl. Her whole life gone to waste. Is this lslamic?. Where is the compassion and what has the police done in her rape. It's things like these that makes me wonder whether we are truely Malaysians because l feel ashamed.

The judge needs to have empathy for her and not sentence her or deny her bail. What about her letting her mother be with her all through out?

The problem nowadays is that judges don't deserve to be called judges as they are just automatons making decisions according to law and precedence .
The very term to judge means to do it with justice in mind using compassion and based on individual cases .
A man stealing Milo for his children gets two years but a corrupt politician who has cheated citizens of billions of dollars gets a pardon .

This poor underaged girl suffered the torment and the loss of her fragile life and future because of the many inadequacies of our society. First, inadequacy of parental guidance, then the failure of the education system to inculcate and educate the child on sex education and uphold moral responsibilities. Thirdly the failure of good judges to temper the law that was written. Even the prison rules fail to consider the human needs of this victim.

First we must ask why such extreme cases happen only to the majority race.Muslims not only have to face civil but also syariah laws. That complicates the whole judicial system.Non muslims dont have their religious laws interfering in the courts unless muslims are involved in their case.Although our education system and society are inadequate but other races are not affected that bad. Some judges may allow their personal moral and religious feelings to interfere their judgements.

Bottom line in my opinion - THE MSIAN GOVERNMENT'S IDIOCRACY will see no end IF IT ISN'T REPLACED WITH LEARNED, EDUCATED, THINKING INDIVIDUALS MATURED ENOUGH TO REALLY 'DO THE WORK'! Many of us are, the rakyat are now beyond just angry with the nonsense we're experiencing on a daily basis in Malaysia ...... immature topics being discussed instead of looking into the REAL ISSUES FACED BY RAKYAT!

The parents are not doing their jobs .
I have seen girls between the ages of 12 to 16 yrs sitting in parks with older boys , though in a group it still allows for hanky panky , and this past 8pm.
The problem is that the morals of society has deteriorated and parents don't really talk to their children about religion and morality .

      @drewh3224 Před 6 měsíci +1

@KarunanithiNRamachandran Absolutely. The life long education of the child starts from their parents. There is also the judicial laws that protect them as minors from predators and even within domestic violence.

    • @hannah5245

It is the duty of the schools to inform the children of their rights as far as their bodies are concerned, including for boys as well. Sex education is not about teaching them how to have sex!! It is to teach them about their bodies, the differences between male and female bodies, and yes, how babies are made. Because the kids get their info from internet, it is usually misinformed information. They need to be taught the meaning of duty and responsibility even if they dont understand the full ramifications of sex. They need to be aware to correct their definitions of what is "love" (is love = sex? or love = respect for themselves/others, doing healthy social things together in order to get to know one another, not sex) , what is the meaning of the word "consensual" (only after they reach 16).

My heart goes out to this youngster who at 14 years would have had so many dreams but only to have them all crushed out by a monster and our legal system.
Time and again we realise that in rape, it is the victim who needs to prove her innocence. The victim is blamed for her dressing sense or her behaviour for the rape. Pls take note that no woman wants to be raped. No one has the right to say that the victim asked for it.
In the case of this young girl, imagine how frightened she must have been when she found out that she was pregnant. It is truly sad to know that in addition to that trauma she now has to go through the additional burden as the person responsible for her child's death. Especially when she herself is hardly more than a child herself.

There is a section in the Kesihatan text book regarding sex . From what I see in schools teachers either skip the section or make indecent jokes about it. I'm sure there are exceptions but it would be a good opportunity to expand on the subject with correct information. Still lacking in our society
Parents too should do their part
They have no idea where their teens are or what they are doing as long as they're not fighting with their siblings at home. There are children as young as 10 accessing porn sites at home. Again no supervision.

The Law and the Welfare system for rape victims and the Welfare of babies from Rape should be held responsible - NOT the girl. Why was her own family EXCLUDED? EDUCATION AND TRAINING SHOULD BE EXTENDED TO THE AUTHORITIES INVOLVED IN THIS CASE.

The private school my children go to teaches puberty (physical & hormonal changes in body, related emotions) and reproduction in science class from Forms 1 and thereafter.
Correct respectful & accepted behaviour towards everyone, especially opposite gender is further discussed in their Social-Emotonal Learning (SEL) classes.
The teachers update all parents’ groups on whatsApp - subjects taught in school regularly every week.
It has been much easier talking to my teenage kids about their feelings, the priority of personal safety & studies first for THEiR brighter future.
We also talk about discipline to counter addiction to pornography & that life is not all about TV or what we see on Internet, social media.
Good habits, respect, politeness, ability to say No firmly = Healthy young adults.
