Notre association s'appelle Samba Résille, nous donnons des cours de batucada ( avec des rythmes brésiliens et d'ailleurs ) à tous - enfants, ados, adultes, personnes en situation de handicap, et tous ensemble.
Nous voulions faire un événement avec tout le monde pour annoncer nos 25 ans.
Sur cette vidéo nous jouons un rythme qu'on appelle Antillais, qui n'est pas brésilien, qui vient des carnavals antillais.

1 This rhythm played in the video is typical of the style known in Brazil as Samba Reggae or Axé. The Samba Reggae was created and animates the carnivals of Salvador in the state of Bahia (northeastern region of the country). Capoeira, a fight that mixes Afro dance with very violent martial strokes, was also born in Bahia.
2 The rhythm played in the parades of Carnival of the state of Rio de Janeiro is known Samba Enredo. He was born in the poor communities of this state, uses more instruments, has a faster tempo, and is also very good.

This reminds me of the drum circles that would gather in Golden Gate Park and go for hours. At times there must have been 200+ people playing all types of drums and assorted instruments! They were an awesome site to see and hear and dance to on one of the gorgeous fogless days that can happen in that beautiful city... well at least at that time. It was in the later 1990s and I had a grand time!!
