Miss Marple's niece, Mabel, married a violent man who later died suddenly, and the village gossips think that Mabel murdered him. From The Thirteen Problems.
Mabel, a niece of Miss Marple, is accused of the murder of her violent husband, whose family has a history of insanity. When arsenic is found in the house Mabel claims to have been intended to commit suicide, but who is telling the truth? The Tuesday Night Club attempt to resolve the mystery, the only story Marple tells them.
In this story Miss Marple describes what may have been the very first murder she solved. The story was published in the Royal Magazine in the UK in 1928. It was included in the 1932 collection, The Thirteen Problems, Miss Marple's first short story collection.
Elements of the story were woven into the plot of the episode Greenshaw's Folly as part of series six of Agatha Christie's Marple, which aired in the UK in 2013. Julia McKenzie was Miss Marple. - Zábava
Absolutely love short stories. This narrator is very good 😊. I don't mind the music so much but it's the DING! DING! at the end of every story. I was woken with a start! Do not use this series to go to sleep with. Unnecessary indeed ‼️😮
Reading left me thinking it is Ms. Marple telling the tale.

Get rid of the music, it's very irritating
This excellent storyteller really doesn't need background muzak. Why spoil an audio book with it? I had to stop listening as the music was just irritating!

It has to do with You Tube algorithms. Something about it not regognising this as an audiobook if the music is there.

Pity to ruin the beautiful voice of Royal Shakespearean actress Juliet Stevenson by any music, let alone the plinkety plonk piano here!
I’m fairly certain that the person who downloaded these added the music + “light show “ background” to avoid copyright strikes. I have seen this done with several other YT’ers, when downloading others’ work
and, yes, the music is most annoying!!! i have absolutely no freaking idea why, in heaven’s name, do so many people think music helps a narrative.
