    This is the best video I've seen on the circle of fifths! And I've watched MANY a video on them, but this is definitely the clearest and practical, and answers all my questions in regards to tritones and tonality!

    Amazing. Merci beaucoup.
    I'm still a Newbie, so still learning. But I started practicing my modes in that order since it made more sense, Lydian first and going gradually darker. But I never had thought about the circle relationship

    That was the most amazing modal breakdown and explanation i have ever seen.
    The visual connection was what we guitarist and writers needed. Thank you.....this may be one of the most valuable theory videos i have ever observed.

    One of the best courses I’ve purchased in recent years…maybe even ever. So musically valuable, useful and very clearly presented. Not only modes, also interval knowledge,chords and progressions are covered. If you ought to buy just one course, this should be it. For not even the price of a guitar cable!

    I have purchased Ry Naylor’s Circle of Fifths for which this video represents a fraction of the e book course material.I am taking intermediate guitar lessons on a weekly basis, and this specific material is now cropping up with my guitar teacher.My recent study of Major and minor pentatonic scales has been revisited because of Ry’s new material on the Circle of Fifths, I now consider it complete…thanks to Ry’s concise explanation. I strongly recommend this material as best on the web.

    Ryan your online courses have been a wealth of clear & meaningful help in learning to play the guitar. This new/latest ebook, expanding the power of the Circle of 5ths to explain the Modes looks as promising as your guitar blue print course! 👍🏾👍🏼✔

    Quick question - for example, using the circle of fifths to find the chords of C mixolydian (Bb, F & C) could I create a simple chord progression over the 3 chords, loop it and then create a lead using notes from the C mixolydian scale?
    Would this also work with the minor chords and even the diminished? Ry mentions triads but will any chord shape do?

    • @Rynaylorguitar
      @Rynaylorguitar  Před 2 lety +2

      Hey Tim. Thanks for the question. Yes, that would work, something like C - Bb - F - C would be a good loop to work C mixolydian. Even better would be to keep the C bass note in each chord, so C - Bb/C - F/C - F would give a stronger sense of C as the tonal centre. You can add the minor chords from the key too (less so the diminished triad). You have to be careful with other types of chords (like, for example, seventh chords) as there are a few more 'rules' that have to be learned to ensure you're getting the desired backing track. Hope that helps 🙏🏻
