- Jebel Shams - the SUN MOUNTAIN - in Oman is the tallest peak in the Gulf. I recently decided to hike it alone, to enjoy its beauty in silence. After camping overnight on a ridge nearby, I set off to make it to the peak and back within one day. Here's the story of that adventure. Thanks Oman for having me đ

Remember: when hiking, always take precautions! I have extensive experience in the outdoors and whenever I trek alone, I take very specific safety measures. I would ALWAYS recommend hiking with other people, however. Take care and enjoy!

Solo hiking is a remedy and therapy to rescue ourselves form the chaos of everyday busy life. Oman offers a lot to travellers. Oman is our neighbour country. Its just there is an Arabian sea between us. Another favourite place of mine in Oman is Salalah region.

Oman is the best places on earth. The good days there are an everlasting good memories. Good Omanis, Riyam park, stunning ocean, dolphins, science museum. This is magic on earth. I was at Jebel Shams just a few days after you were there. Watching this sent chills down my back and tears into my eyes. Traveling to and through Oman has been such a wonderfull experience. The hospitality of the people living there, the landscape, the food, just everything, was so incredible. Some moments in our travles there were challenging as well. But after overcoming those challenges I felt so powerfull.
Wish I could go again. Maybe someday, when this world comes back to a new normal.

OMG, when you said its all about the journey not the destination. I can totally relate to that as I use the saying myself.
