True Alex, when I work with clients who want an auto cover, if safety is the reason for the investment I always explain the pros and con's then encourage them to make the investment if its to insure protection for their family.
One reason for covers not opening, is owners fail to grease the gears on regular basis. As for the covers themselves. 25 years ago, we had no less then 7 installers in our area. Their cover would last 5 yr max. Today, only one is left -the one with 8 yr guaranty. I also heard from an out-of-job installer, that, these installers refused to buy longer lasting covers from mfg'rs, to keep their gravy going. A very stupid & shortsighted Biz model
