    This is a process that requires a lot of flexibility, compassion, guidance, and mentorship, every candidate dreads making a choice and then later finding out that the choice they made is not working well for them. The beauty of it is that the process has been improving and should continue to be reviewed and improved.

    KUCCPS University - TVET course selection needs to be made FREE of charge as long as a student has sat for KCSE there is no need of placing additional fees for University TVET course selection many qualifying students from financially challenged homes cannot raise the 1000/- or 500/- additional fees for KUCCPS in order to access the portal for course selection they end up missing out. The low intake of only 1/3 of the qualifying students should be a big worry to this government, how can 2/3 of the qualifying students be left out? to access higher education. What are the reasons? 500,000 qualifying students is not a small number.

    The students who were given ridiculous placements should go private or seek foreign admissions and do whatever they like to avoid wasting their good scores.

      The government is not creating jobs they are giving low income jobs to diploma students and in a way to justify that they give grants to privileged people with a promise to be a benefactor if the system survives yet every year graduates lack jobs same scenario with world coin no jobs yet we in colleges are loosing to gain

    Really Dr? How did you end up with a doctorate? Would you have agreed to take a tvet course? Wasting your children…

  • @EmmanuelMuange
    @EmmanuelMuange Před 10 měsíci +3

    Im not satisfied with this explanation. Reducing a child's ambitions by lowering the threshold isnt a good way to build a system. Make some horizontal comparisons. I cant imagine an A- student who made 3 degree choices being denied because there are too many As. Give them an ALTERNATIVE degree course, not a diploma.
    That fourth choice is a desperate one. Im sure it hurts. It's difficult to make the cut, but to find yourself designated to an lower institution is tougher. Imagine the hassle of starting your course and transfering your credits into a degree course. Ngumu.
    Maybe students should sit for University entrance exams instead of a standardized test. There's less chance to have a false sense of accomplishment only for "The System" to fail you.

    After the results of form 4, let principles of secondary schools announce to students they come back for applications while finishing exams. So that they are guided on how to choose causes. Other students have no even phones, or tv in homes, so when portal has been opened they are not AWARE!!!!! that's why the 500, 000 have not been replaced. 😭😭😭😭

    The answer does not make sense.If the student had a cluster point of 40 how then did the system allow her to choose dentistry at the UON which has a cluster of 43.The system should not have allowed her to select the courses if her cluster was less than required.

    • @esthermaina4869
      @esthermaina4869 Před 10 měsíci

      The selection is made before they sit the exam.

    • @seliphawaigwa1981
      @seliphawaigwa1981 Před 10 měsíci

      This is it! It clearly shows that the system is not intelligent and it is so sad they don't see how flawed that is. Makes me wonder why they couldn't have hired an experienced IT technician to develop that platform.
      I also believe students are normally allowed to revise their choices once results are out.
      Excellence in delivery of services in government bodies is wanting, to be honest.

      Stop applying double standards our courts are being misused to handle finance bills yet in a little trajectory to offer a lawyer with a degree a job is being justified by offering them a job as an administrative assistant in a room of pple making no educated guesses 😂

    • @robertadwar333
      @robertadwar333 Před 10 měsíci +2

      I think an A- student should only go for a diploma by choice but not a system based, there has to be a conversation if otherwise, it's also clear there was no clear indication on the selection process.

    • @mganji444
      @mganji444 Před 10 měsíci

      Yaaani tunaambiwa degree students are entitled ndio tupoteze job creation alafu the same system that is penalizing you inaunderpriviledge a diploma student by giving them a low income job so in any case whichever grade you get the choice you make is going to be marked by a concensus.

    I don't think they create enough awareness and guidance. Many students are usually not even aware whether the application portal has been opened or not, leave alone the transfer window and the huduma centres. They should reach out to the students via direct messages to their cellphones whenever a key event is about to take place.

    A student with an A in their final examination chooses to do a class C certificate Yet a student with a B+ fails to do their degree and options for a diploma and in future further their studies in an honorary degree program justified by their unique Tvet skills which can be given by a simple degree with IT. Then how do you explain the insitution waiver of that student who scored an A and is doing a certificate which is nothing related to any programme offered in the kuccps...so many phds and academic compelling but no accounts of fair discpline courses.

    Reason is poor communication to students after form 4. Other Kenyans are poor, but their children performs excellently. Now you're assuming they have a radio, smartphone, TV, to reach them information,,,,, reach at the cyber for application, 1000 is needed plus cyber charges 400, you think they have,,,,, ANSWER to this problem is principles to give directions to all students after form 4 exam. Let students go .back to school for University applications after exams are out. We'll not be having this large number of 500, 000 with no replacement!!!!!!!!!!!
