    My mum is French and my dad is Italian, so I am 50/50, I have double nationality and lived for years in both countries. I loved them both. The 2 best countries in the world💕
    The only difference is that when I'm in Italy it is not rare that people ''make fun'' of me for being French, while when I'm in France people actually don't care or are even happy to know that I'm Italian.

    • @bert422
      @bert422 Před 3 lety +61

      @@mae5657 Maybe I did not express myself at best sorry (English is my 3rd language). What I wanted to say is that Italians often tend to 'look down on' French. It is not rare at all that Italians say 'French are snobby and dirty' for example. Italians say that French think to be better than everyone else (which of course it is a stereotype and not true. Like everywhere else you can find some good people and some bad people).
      They also ask me if I clean myself properly because I'm French and in France is not common to find bidet in toilets. And this is funny since I know that bidet are rather uncommon in many countries (Germany, UK, Denmark,..) but Italians mainly laugh about French being dirty and not using bidet.
      Italians also tell me many other negative comments (e.g. French food is disgusting, French is worse at football,..)
      I bet that the most hated country for Italians is France ahaha.
      On the other hand, French people actually don't care if I'm Italian or not and many of them are even happy/curious to know it and ask me about Italian food recipes, Italian songs, best place to visit in Italy in my opinion,....

    The weather... You compared Paris to Rome not France to Italy...
    Style and fashion: again you compared Paris to Rome, you completely forgot Milan.
    I agree about infrastructures, especially trains(even if there are big differences between northern Italy and southern Italy) . Trains in France are excellent and even cheaper than other excellent train services( England). Weird thing: Italy built its motorways BEFORE France and they were excellent at first: than a luck of maintenance and bad administration has brought to the present shitty situation.

      You missed some points. Especially the fact that Italian trains are among the fastest in the world 350km\h. And the fashion point. Milan is recognized as the capital of the fashion in all the world. Major brands such as: Gucci, Dolce e Gabbana, Bottega veneta, Armani, Off white, Napijiri, Ray Ban, Fendi, Ferragamo, Bulgari and many more are Italian. And again, the price thing. You can’t compare prices in that way (for hotels). Hotels in Rome are cheaper than hotels in more beautiful places such as Capri or Ischia, for example. But overall I agree upon the fact that Italian and French people are all alike. And, with the rest of your comparison. Love France from Italy 🇮🇹

    I'm one of those lucky people who has recently spent 1 year in Italy (Verona) and 1 year in France (Grenoble), as part of my University studies. Your list is very accurate. Italian people can become like a family to you, I have had a lot of support from my professors and friends. In France it's not that easy, people are more distanced, although not exactly rude, so the French stereotype is not always true. France is investing a lot more in science and infrastructure, but Italy is trying as well. I prefer Italian food and I think Italy is more beautiful. French people have a more opened mentality and seem to be less religious. In both countries their English sucks, I'm not sure where it sucks the most. However, with Italians I usually communicate in Italian, and I'm studying French recently to avoid speaking English in France. Italy always feels like home, I don't know why, maybe because I come from nearby Albania. In France I feel good and it's true that they value personal space and privacy, but you can make good friends there. One thing that they have in common is that in both countries you can talk about politics, you can openly be left-wing, right-wing, center, religious, atheist. In other European countries (e.g. Belgium and northern countries) people avoid these topics, which is kind of annoying.
    I must say I was really blessed for spending two good years in these countries. Hopefully, I might move to Paris this year (if NYC doesn't steal me first) and if I do, it's certain that I will visit Italy a lot of times. These countries are the heart of Europe and their languages are the most beautiful in the world.

    Italy is a country I like a lot !
    As a French who lives in the South of France, it’s just like I was at home.
    I visited, Florence, Pisa, Venise, Rome...
    And I loved it !
    I will always remember, I was in Rome near the plaza with an obelisk and I was going to buy a baguette at a little Carrefour in Rome.
    When I get out and walked in the principal street of Rome, I was walking with my baguette in my hand and I was speaking French with my friend.
    An Italian guy approached me and said.
    “Ahaha the Baguette !”
    We laughed and then we left, but it will always stays at a memory for me !

    I think France is sister with all its neighbors, if you are in the North is a bit Flemish, in Lille, if you are in Strasbourg is a bit German, if you are in Nice is a bit Italian, if you are in Montpellier or Toulouse it is a bit catalan Spanish, if you are in Brittany is a bit Celtic, Biarritz a bit Basque.
    Briefly, France has been influenced by all its neighbors. And conversely, France has influenced its neighbors.

    • @keyos1955

      Nice was actually Italian indeed. It's a stolen city

    • @keyos1955
      @keyos1955 Před 3 lety +1

      @m n Ok, but Nice was actually Italian until 1862 and was forced to become French. Most of the inhabitants emigrated to Italy, in order to avoid this

    • @keyos1955
      @keyos1955 Před 3 lety

      @m n No it was actually stolen. Genova sold it, but Nice didn't agree. Also, France forced Nice to vote for the remaining, with a fake referendum, and subdued the population culturally in many ways. All the people had to choose between the option of changing their surnames or abandoning the city for example. Most of the population was replaced by French people

    • @keyos1955
      @keyos1955 Před 3 lety

    • @keyos1955

      @m n So to justify your ignorance about this argument we are taking this on personal? Now you are assuming that I'm a little nationalistic Italian with ancestors from Nice? Don't you find all of this kind of pathetic dude? I'm not saying that you are an idiot French that didn't finish primary school, just because you can't discern between a form of oppression over a population and a legitimate trade between two entities. Do you know the trade of slaves, which is the most similar trade, in this case, was not kind of legitimate and accepted in Europe during the 19th century? I should consider the fact that "stolen" it's not the most appropriate word, indeed it was taken by force. And, before you repeat that Genova gave it, it's not Genova the matter, but the inhabitants of Nice and their rights to preserve their culture at least... not even their nationality, but their culture, can you understand this? The concept of culture?

    Trains in Italy are no longer out of schedule. This is an old stereotype which was valid 20 years ago or so. The majority of Italian trains (both high speed trains or regional) is punctual. The railway system works almost perfectly and it's also inexpensive compared to other European railways. I travelled by train across all of the 20 regions of Italy. In the south the railway system is outdated but this is another story. The timetable is reliable.
