    I'm someone who has ADHD and ASD and thanks to early intervention I was able to manage and cope with it for the most part, and medication management (methylphenidate for my adhd) just made it easier to live with over time

    I object to the term "careless mistakes". That literally implies that you make mistakes because you don't care. That is not the case. A mistake is a mistake. It doesn't have to be careless. I have ALWAYS hated that term.

    Thank you Rhesus Medicine.
    I've been told I had, (at the time of diagnosis,) ADD my entire life, and it has almost ruined my life.
    I am just finally starting to take it seriously, do my homework, and truly understand what has been undermining my entire existence.

      I'm trying to get a diagnosis because I think I've had this all my life. It ruined some of my school life and now I can't properly hold down a job or do anything I enjoy. 31 years old now.

    • @user-en7vx8dz5o
      @user-en7vx8dz5o Před 10 měsíci +3

      I had no idea I likely have this until recently. And it really HAS ruined my life. Causing me to drop out of Uni and have difficulty finding and keeping jobs. I have mixed feelings on getting a diagnosis because it doesn't feel good to have a "defective" label. Saying that though, getting a label means I know what's going on and I can be treated for it. So those are the advantages and I kind of REALLY need to have it treated.

    As a child I was hyper, school was so boring and I used to doodle all day, but I was shy and not at all disruptive. Now at 45, I’m not at all hyper, but do have trouble relaxing, I feel it’s a waste of my time reading a book or watching a boring film, although I could watch game of thrones and the walking dead because they were interesting. I’m not a big talker, but I do occasionally interrupt people, mainly because I’m not sure about the timing of how to join in the conversation. I listen to the same songs on a loop and can be forgetful at times. When my husband talks about his day, I often zone out and start daydreaming. I like to spend time alone and don’t really look forward to anything which others probably do, ie holidays, birthdays, nights out etc. But do look forward to the time they’ll be over so I can try and relax again. I pretend to look forward to them, but that’s just masking. I’ve basically lived a lie and I don’t really know who I am underneath the mask! Is it too late to change, or would changing be damaging at this stage?

    I dont understand I have the attention one, where its hard for me to not get super tired after say, ready a super boring text book for even 10 min. But the emotional regulation is the complete opposite when things are going down around me and chaos pops up and needs to be handled. Its like time slows down, or maybe even finally is moving at the perfect pace. While people are freaking out over something - right fully - I to should be freaking out over, like say doing CPR on a patient. Its like my mind is finally Clear and I can focus. My treatments are on point and I'm soo calm. Something like Vyvanse allows me to Focus on extremely boring topics and really push my scope of practice to the next level as I digest and log information without being super tired about it. Its almost like unless the world is falling apart around me, its just to boring to focus lols.

    Thank you for posting this video. I have a good friend at work with ADHD. I've studied about it in the DSM5, but hearing it explained helped much. I am constantly and patiently reminding her to stay on task or even get started on work. Please post more about this topic.
    I've even heard some ADHD suffers say that caffeine calms them down down. I know that caffeine is a stimulant and a Xanthene. Does it work on the same neurotransmitters neurotransmitters as three aforementioned drugs?

    im trying to understand my boyfriend better yet i caught myself zoning out and going on my phone more than a few times just on this video. however i do not have ADHD although i feel if you put in enough effort, you can slowly change that, or maybe its just growing up. you have to be careful not to self-diagnose. my boyfriend can make an effort to put his attention on something even if its hard, you cant use it as an excuse. im still trying to understand him better every day and be caring

    I was almost really thinking I have ADHD(since 2017) until I went to psychiatrist for proper diagnosis... its depression she said. uhhhhh Like after given antidepressants... I could feel like something was lifted off my shoulders. Sooooo goood. I finally got motivated.... seriously i had stopped over thinking and I felt like I was getting more aware in my surroundings than usual. which I fely due to anxiety I feel a bit off. i do have these adhd symptoms but I couldnt agree with the forgetting things after taking the meds. in fact after having meds I could remember so much from the past which was cool. I also had been soo calm , I havent even thought of anything bad in weeks... I wish these meds were given to me a long time ago😂😂😂

    People will self-diagnose themselves, I am not saying that making medical videos is bad but some perfectly normal people will think that they have ADHD from this, let the doctors do the work, do not self-diagnose yourself, your attention and focus problems are maybe the result of 4 hours of Tik Tok every day, change what you can and do not say that your problems are the result of disease you are born with altho that is maybe true, it will not help you.

    While women are more likely to experience certain things we must be very careful not to make those things stereotypes of women. If that happened some people would not get the help they really need or they might feel stigmatized. Also by not looking for help they might also eventually suffer from depression. I don't want people to get confused and say that someone is full of $hit and they don't suffer from that because of wrongly considering it a female problem. They do have various problems that really just affect them. It is just that various mental problems are experienced by men also

    • @trillykayembe4077
      @trillykayembe4077 Před 7 měsíci +1

      You really don’t need a special school for this unless it’s incredibly severe and really that justified…I have inattentive adhd and it has impacted my life significantly. I didn’t get diagnosed until 8 months ago at age 25. But I still passed my GCSEs, got the highest marks for my course at college and I was getting 1st class marks for some of my assignments at university in my nursing degree and I had no reasonable adjustments, medication or extra support for that. “They” are not patients, they’re not unwell or indifferent to you. People with ADHD are human beings with high capabilities and their own gifts. It’s uncomfortable the way you’re saying “Give them” as if people with adhd are a group of aliens or something😂 we’re all individual with our own individual needs for support, reasonable adjustments and for some people medication…
