The video is just western centric, Quad wasn't mentioned, there are alliance of India with Russia, mutual defense agreement between India and Bhutan, nothing mentioned about South Asian or Southeast Asian alliances, basically no mention of China's newly formed alliances, such as with Pakistan, they literally thought it was too long so they didn't read
For now at least quad is still mostly an idea and is only really a few economic deals and vaccine promises, not quite an alliance just yet.

@@shtrakt QUAD is a potential upcoming strategic alliance.
It's not completely official yet but due to It's strategic nature and inclusion of major nations with the common ground of having terrible relations with China,

'Nations have no permanent friends or allies, they only have permanent interests.'
- Lord Palmerston
Except Portugal and the UK, apparently. 600+ years means they've gone through several rounds of "permanent" interests with one another and are still standing strong.
Even when Portugal was Fascist during WW2 under Salazar they continued to remain friendly to the British. Even allowing the British to use their ports and air bases during the war when the Alliance was invoked. They even said if Britain asked they would get involved officially in the war against the Axis. The British never called them in because they knew that would mean Spain would have joined the Axis. So the Portuguese-British Alliance is definitely a permanent friendship that not even ideology can separate.
@ Calculator every country does that.
Hopefully in modern times peace is most common shared interest.

I would be curious to learn more about India's military alliances as they have historically faced a number of regional challenges and may aspire to the role of a regional power broker in the coming decades.
For India there is quad but it is not formally working... And it is not an proper military alliance and no major economic policy have been signed in the quad. India has some agreement with Bhutan to protect it from Chinese. India has joint venture programmes going on with Russians. India is buying the best from USA and Israel. France is selling weapons to India and some joint venture program is possible with France...
India is never going to have a formal military alliance ever. Its against the very character of this country to go to war with others because of the interests of some foreign ally (unless the foreign ally is Bhutan, they are special). We prefer an independent foreign policy and are one of only three/four countries in the world who have the power to actually pursue this route and become a global pole in a multi-polar world order.

This is amazing
Im from Namibia, which i think has quite an interesting system of friendships.
South Africa: we got independence from them just a generation ago, theyre our besties and we cooperate on vaious factors such as citizenship rights, language, tertiary education, etc, as well as in alliances such as
SADC: the international community we most see ourselves as part of, bunch of Southern African countries
SACU: the countries most culturally and historically aligned with Namibia, hence more close cooperation in what is the worlds oldest running customs union
Germany: we share a close historical and cultural tie with Germany. Interesting love-hate relationship, but its mostly positive with intense development aid and cultural/education exchange between the two
Finland: similar to germany, the Finns had a well founded presence in Namibia during the colonial period, with a largely positive impact as finnish missionaries spread education onto the local people
China: this is a very controversial one. Statistics apparently say the chinese community in Namibia may now be larger than the German one. Most Namibians are largely anti-China, and this controversy is reflected in politics, as more anti-China parties see massive gains in elections
an interesting one ive discovered:
St Helena: Namibia is basically one of the "supply points" for St Helena next to South Africa, with large investments into the air travel infrastructure from St Helena to Namibia and the rest of the world!
From Malaysia and didn't know we have the "Five Powers" Alliance until now.. I know about ASEAN. And maybe one or two incomplete trade pact.

Though it is a different story altogether that they've enough bunkers to keep all of their population safe from nukes and that they have a navy too despite being a landlocked country. So I can't guarantee a win, but I guess it shouldn't start WW3, or would it?

"Show pride in your Country" ... shows germanys pin ... my only thought as a germn ... "You clearly have now idea how "pride" works around here :D"
Just imagine what it's like for England, automatically labeled as bad things just for being proud of a flag lol
As an American, the idea of thinking negatively about someone just because they’re are proud of their country is really confusing. It’s normal for people in my country to be patriotic. Nearly everyone on my street has an American flag hanging off their front porch.
@@sparrowpelt20xx61 for me the "american-way" is kind of creepy ... being proud of your own country feels "strange" to me ... what should i be proud of exactly ?
I am part of a community that does things, im proud of beeing part of some of the things this community does ...
but the "Country" is just a meaningless construct to "group" people together ...
I am from India we have signed non alliance treaty but we have some good friends Israel russia USA France and ect basicly we like them because the sell us awesome weapon from s 400 to French Rafael ,Ak to M4 mi 17 to Apache from mi26 to Chinook ,c17 Globemaster to illusion
Im Texan, and I hope we continue to cooperate militarily. Lol, we only give Apache helicopters to close friends
@@johnlocke9383 well Apache and Chinook c17 Globemaster are helping us counter china
@@SN-oo2fq Good, atleast someone is resisting those genocidal maniacs.
@@johnlocke9383 your country making another big mistake leaving Afghanistan, all their mines will be under talibans (Pakistan) control, from that money they will create terrorist pad along kashmir border, and chunk of money of weapons deal will go to china.
Thanks :) NEVER GIVE UP
Hello,
As a Kenyan, I would love it if you would take a look at the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) which has 🐝 functioning as the go to Alliance for peace and security issues in The Eastern Africa region
Thanks
0:32 The audio went weird for a bit.
9:33 The thing about the CSTO. From my understanding, it is broadly like NATO, but lacks the collective security clause.
It has a mutual defense clause
I would like to hear a lot more detail about the Quad (US, India, Australia, Japan).
@kiran m You are daft if you think SCO is a military alliance.
Quad is an informal grouping of India, the Japan-US alliance and the Australia-US alliance in order to coordinate against China. That is how it will stay. Give up if you think India will ever form an alliance with any of these countries.
I would love to see you try and fit them all in one map lol
I would like to see a video about every ally of the USA, and then allies-allies and so on. A colored map would do though.
