I was getting chills while seeing Pena punching Nunes back & getting the best of her . The underdog winning always gives you a different kind of excitement. UNBELIEVABLE WIN by Pena

“Underdog” on paper. Not in reality. I cannot understand how people overlooked her. It’s all about the match-up and she was always going to be a problem for Amanda. Just like Holly was for Rhonda back when she was “invincible”.
The amazing thing was, Pena simply wasn’t intimidated by Nunes. Every opponent Nunes has faced has fought her with very nervous energy and reluctance but Pena didn’t fear her at all 👊🏻
That second round was incredible. I haven't screamed that much during a fight in a long time.
How good was it. Why this sport is so good. Millions of us around the world shouting and jumping around wanting the underdog to get the W. So good

I went nuts! She threw caution to the wind and it was an all out now or never mentality! She was either gonna shock the works or get clipped! The most amazing part was even when she got rocked she was the one coming forward and had Amanda hurt n in retreat mode! I just got a little nervous at the end that she was gonna get caught w a lucky shot but she didn’t! The even more amazing part was how easily she got her to tap when she didn’t even have the choke locked in all the way 😂👍
Amazinggggggg to watch and react to live. Dominick got the juices flowing. O'Malley gave me a head rush. Pena gave me an aneurysm especially when nunes quit like a chump. Dusted by Du Bronx porier completed the elation with a full on half seizure half dance binge.
One of the most satisfying upsets I've ever witnessed. Juliana fought tough and didn't back down. Much respect!

Go watch Juliana’s season of the Ultimate Fighter. That was the 1st time I saw her, and everyone on the show hated her and singled her out. Everyone said she didn’t belong in the tournament. and not only did she win the entire show she dominated and stopped every opponent she faced. I’ve been her biggest fan since and I cried watching her pull off the upset on Saturday. It’s like being a diehard football fan and your long time team finally wins the Super Bowl.
Amanda tore her ass up in the 1st round ..but it was a fair fight Juliana won fair and square ..I just don't she can beat Amanda everytime .

This was one of the greatest fights I have seen in the UFC. She was so humble and at the start of the fight I didn’t give her a chance. She blew me away with her heart and determination. She was razor sharp focused. One to watch. Real champ. Fair play to Nunes too for a great fight.

Champ put on a performance of note man. My first time seeing her fight and I am in awe of her style, work and her personality man. A deserved win and I look forward to the rematch. Both fighter's kids should be very proud of their mom's.

1. The definition of humbled is to be brought down or reduced in status. Upsetting the consensus WMMA GOAT is the definition of humbled.
2. In the fight Amanda was cocky, smiling and 'toying' with her opponent in the first round. Come the second when both ladies exchanged shots, Amanda's ego was on display when she winged haymakers because Julianna was tagging her constantly. She never backed off to reset, she didn't move her head, she didn't level change, she kept trading shots even when she was losing the exchanges as she couldn't accept she was being out-struck.
Amanda was humble and gracious in defeat. But make no mistake, Julianna Pena did that to her.

I've been watching UFC for over 20 years. From someone who's been dedicated to the sports. Do you think that fight was rigged? Dont you think they are setting Nunes for Shevchenko on a catch weight fight

Man, I still can't believe how she was piecing up Amanda on the feet. I imagine it had a lot to do with how good Pena's gas tank is, but also because her fundamentals. Her jab and 1-2 ,1-2-3 combos were so crisp and successful, It really threw off Amanda that she was even attempting to strike with her, let alone how often she was landing. Not to make an excuse for Amanda, but after hearing that she hadn't fought at 135 in 2 years, it seemed kind of weird to me. I feel like it might have affected her performance and cardio. The second fight should be different due to the fact Amanda will be more acclimated at the weight class again, and will probably have a huge focus on cardio and grappling, as well as the overall fundamentals. Either way, tonight was Juliana's night, and I'm super happy to see her Cinderella story come true.

I disagree. Amanda was never the most technical striker on the feet and she did get pieced up from time to time (aka GDR and Valentina). Today was just a case of Amanda getting pieced up on the feet AGAIN and perhaps this time she underestimated Pena’s striking and the accumulated damage of those jabs as opposed to respecting the striking of Valentina and GDR.
Her one twos are very wide, no footwork that correlated with her punches, chin up and guard hand drops when she strikes. I’m sure there’s more but that’s just what I remember off the cuff.

thats not true at all. GDR and Bullet almost beat amanda. bullet almost did twice. the key here was a multiple situation. ego, bad game plan. Amanda fought this woman like she fought Ronda and Cyborg, reckless. im not trying to take away from Julianna im exremely happy for her but this isnt about fighting back lol. style make fights and styles also are an indicator of how things can play out on many levels
@@lowlowseesee yeah, amanda was to sure that she would knock her out and gassed pretty early. Also she seems to have a hard weight cut, she looks almost weak. The same happend her in the first Shevchenko match, she really got saved by the bell.

After watching the pre-fight press conference,I had a feeling Juliana could win because of her confidence but I still felt Amanda would still win.Before the fight I was hoping Juliana could take Amanda through the rounds and not get smoked early on but the win was a shocker to me
Exactly, I had similar thoughts.
Same here. I thought to myself, she has the confidence and the style to possibly do it (a gritty, wrestling based style with tons of heart, cardio and durability) but Amanda was just so proven and dominant that I thought she would still find a way to win anyway. I was saying if anybody COULD do it it would be Julianna. But man it still doesn’t feel real that she ACTUALLY did it lol. So happy for her.

I’m gonna say it straight up I truly though Juliana peña was going to get slaughtered, I have seen her in tuf and have seen her recent fights, but I just couldn’t see her beating Amanda Nunes, and especially in the submission game. But holy hell did she preform like a champion, she rocked her over and over again and then applied that beautiful choke, I lost my shit, and her list fight interview was so heartwarming. She’s definitely got my number now
