  • Create Chalk Paint Stenciling on floor tiles to give a new refreshed look! Stenciled Floors ideas are a fun easy DIY update without the heavy renovation costs. In this tutorial you will learn how to stencil tile, both using artist brushes and rollers.
Note: We recommend sealing or lacquer your chalk paint floor stencil design. Check with your local home improvement store for the best products used to seal in your area.
Note: For smooth surface tiles (i.e. glazed porcelin/ceramic style), I recommend to lightly sand the tiles so that the surface is scuffed to allow for the chalk paint to bind (adhere to) for better adhesion.
This is a great way to do a furniture makeover using chalk paint and it is a great DIY weekend project to restore furniture that still looks great, but just needs some chalk paint love! This tutorial will show you how to do chalk paint so you can upcyle old furniture you may have!

This is GORGEOUS 😍 I'm renovating my 1858 home and the floorboards in my kitchen are worn, with different layers of stain, paint and whatever else was used. I love how it looks but have been debating to stencil over the top. Well now I've decided I'm going to do it😁Thank you xx

A good tip for painting tiles: If you have smooth fire glazed tile flooring is to sand your floor to scuff it first ( my tiles in this tutorial were not smooth or heavy fire glaze) so it will help adhere you paint and better adhesive surface to sleek smooth surface tile! I recommend a medium grid sandpaper, clean surface well and then paint!!

Nikki Lloyd .. I always appreciate your kind words and feedback Nikki thank you so much 🤗💙
I have so many other ideas 💡it’s difficult to organize which one comes first lol 😂
Since I bought a house the ideas fly ! There are so many items with in this house that are in mint condition but colour and design are all I want to change, example - bathroom tiles or shower tiles , and it not the tile that actually needs to be replaced it’s the colour and design.
There is crafty ways to do it with good results and less expensive, less landfill waste.
I am also thinking 🤔 ceilings need more attention 😉🎨 I have seen some gorgeous stencilling on ceilings that can completely change the vibe of a room! Hope you are well and I can never thank you enough 🙏🤗 for all your support 💙

@@TheReclaimedHeirloom oh ceiling! That would be an amazing accent to any room! May I suggest. . If you do paint the ceiling (7ft-10ft. Floor to ceiling), you might want to focus on mostly light/bright colors to keep the room from feeling smaller/boxed in.
      Interior design 101. . Lol
Any way, I am sure that all your Ideas will be amazing, and I look forward to watching every video🥰
Oh yeah, the most amazing thing happened to me today. I got to swap pleasantries with Annie Sloane on Instagram! It was hours ago but I'm still a bit star struck🤩

    • @TheReclaimedHeirloom

Nikki Lloyd ... that is a very good suggestion Nikki! Bright colour would definitely be more light and bright for a ceiling, I truly appreciate your expertise! And I think you are absolutely right! 😉🤗
That is super exciting you had a chat with Annie! She is an incredible person and just the loveliest person!
I have a question? I was thinking 🤔 of trying the stencil in the bathroom I just completed the floor with stencil, to much?? The room needs a bold bright colour tone to mesh in somehow and I am on the fence with what? It seems a little to grey? Or even a boarder around the top of the wall? Maybe green and soft green ? Or yellow? Anyhow any thoughts would be very helpful! I will still do the bedroom and maybe I should send you a couple of photos to get your ideas on a colour for the stencil ceiling project?
I will definitely be doing that project in sections so I don’t kill my neck lol 😂

@@TheReclaimedHeirloom I think painting the wall in the bathroom maybe a bit lighter (french linen maybe) and doing a the same stencil (and colors) as border around the top of the walls would be just beautiful!

These are amazing projects and the results are stunning. I love the fades of color. It looks more natural than crisp lines. I have been looking at the links below your tutorials and I don't see any links for the stencils you use. They are really wonderful designs. Do you happen to remember where you purchased them? Are they mostly tile stencils? Any info will be appreciated. I'd love to see more of your home. It looks gorgeous from the few areas you have shown. Give us a tour! Thanks again for sharing your talents!! 💛💚😊

I have so many ideas 💡 I wanted to do with the house so with all this time at home , I wanted to accomplish all the projects so definitely wanted to show a tour. I bought this house 5 years ago and fell in love with all the home’s character but it also had a lot of style paint and wood so taking this time to but fun touches around the place with simple chalk paint ideas, it would be super fun to share on the channel! Here is the link to where I purchase the stencils
      www.royaldesignstudio.com
The website also has many photos of people’s stencilling ideas around the house , it’s so beautiful what you can do with stencils ❤️

Looks great! I have a stone fireplace. It has a 70's brown color, and I would like to give it an up-to-date grey color. I have watched some videos out there. If you have any experience with fireplaces, could you give me any advice you have before I do it.

I would even ask your local stockiest about cleaning tips
I have only used soap and water to clean the floors in the past and never any problems 😉💙

Salut!!! Merci d'avoir contacté !!!! Oui! J'ai peint mes portes avec de la peinture à la craie, cela fonctionne bien, je recommanderais de mettre un scellant de finition pour plus de protection contre les intempéries. Merci beaucoup d'avoir regardé ma chaîne et votre soutien !!! ❤️🎨🙏

Jill B ... thank you so much for your kind comment Jill 💙🎨
No priming needed! I do recommend if you have high glazed super smooth tiles to give a sand first to rough up the tiles a bit!
Some tiles can be very slick and fireglazed so just a quick sand will help the paint stick better.
My tiles were not high glazed and had a texture already so just a tip if your thinking 🤔 maybe this would be a great update to your own flooring 😉🎨

I used one ☝️ roller for the staircase risers and I used 2 rollers for the bathroom.
I wanted demo a couple of ways to stencil, using art brushes and rollers but every project and colour design will vary per person , so definitely the design of colours can be anything you wish 🤗❤️
I am so delighted with the results of all these projects! Thanks again for your kind words 🎨💙

Susan Wilkie ... it has been 5 months now since I did the bathroom floor and it’s still perfect 👌
Not one issue! We use that bathroom the most and so it gets the most traffic on that floor.
Cleaning is easy and so happy with the results still! 😉🎨💙

For the floor tile in the bathroom, I believe that one was found on amazon. The stair riser was a Royal Design stencil, it was a big sheet stencil that I had to cut for the stairs. ❤️🙏🎨
