I just realized the technique of Replication, Expansion, and Application can be abbreviated as R.E.A. and am LOSING MY MIND!! If this was intentional, then you're a genius (and if not then it's just a funny coincidence).
Anyways, I am totally gonna try this with some of my art at some point. I feel like I'm semi decent at replicating other artstyles, but that my own artstyle is practically nonexistent right now.

First of all, *Amazing art!* Second of all, another really useful thing when you replicate an art-style is to also question "Why the artist is doing this?" when you see the shapes, poses and key details when certain character traits are accentuated. Because artists emphasize on different things for different emotions and context (that's where the art style comes from), maybe is in how they draw the eyes, the hair, their clothes, the line thickness, the mouth, the hands, etc... Everything is there for a reason, that's why artists draw and don't draw certain stuff on their art style (unless it's necessary for the art piece).
I would LOVE a new video of you just going through your process now that your style has changed so much. What brushes and settings you use, blending mods etc
Just finished watching across the spider verse and I already love it. The spider verse series so far has been absolutely amazing! Really inspired me to try to think up more creative designs with my own work

Also as a side note a good few years ago when I first found your channel (around the time when you first introduced your PRISM characters) I can remember thinking “damn I wanna draw that detailed one day” and while admittedly I do miss the older more detailed and more rendered style the way you draw now reminded me that art is supposed to be fun and sometimes having a looser style is fine too and is something I’ve been keeping in mind lately, so thank you (I will one day figure out how you draw hands those tho those bitches hard to draw)

I'm in a bit of an art rut personally. And holy shit I love this method, I need to try it myself. Esp since I'm working on a comic, so I need to stretch so many art muscles now
As someone who adores The Walking Dead and these characters, I was so happy to see you drawing them. I think my favorites are the Michonnes, Abrahams, and the Negans (but I loved the Glenns and Carols too!). Maybe it’s just because I haven’t seen the characters in a while (minus Negan, I saw him a few months ago in Dead City)
I recently went back to look at old sketchbooks because I was in a bad spiral in thinking I havent improved at all in all the years I've drawn and I was VERY wrong. I've improved a ton and doing stuff like this really helped me figure out a way for me to feel comfortable and have fun drawing again.

This video was perfectly timed oh my goodness. I've been stuck in a weird place with my art where I'm technically happy with my skills at the moment but my style has been moving into a direction that is pretty different from what I *want* it to be. I've always struggled with studies and applying them so having a video like this that is relatively short but in depth about some ways you could approach studies is SUPER helpful. Seeing you improve so much in a relatively short amount of time is so inspiring and makes me want to experiment around and do more studies myself!

its really interesting watching this and seeing that the steps i take in doing an art study is very similar to how you do it! a few years ago i decided to practice the splatoon art style, so i copied some stuff from the splatoon 2 artbook, and then branched out into new drawings while keeping in mind what i already learned! i dont think ive ever gotten to the application stage but i think thats because for that specific instance my expansion stage also just. was the application as well. but either way its interesting to notice and also super interesting to watch how you learn to do things and improve!!
