Hello! I recently just submitted my housing application fee ($20) for UCI but it never asked me anything about preferences or roomates. Does that form come out later?
Hi! Overall, thought the video was really helpful--I got admitted into UCI as an incoming freshman, and since the SIR date is pulling up and I'm really considering UCI, this really cleared things up. But, I was wondering how you got into the ACC apartments? I was looking into the contract and I wasn't sure it was open for freshman. I'd really appreciate your help!
Hi! I’m glad the video was helpful and as far as I know ACC is not available for freshman. If you want the apartment experience you can probably find a spot with an outside apartment company such as UTC but if you have financial aid that covers housing it probably won’t be the best choice. I suggest dorming your first year if it’s financially feasible for you so that you’ll be able to meet a lot more people and live right on campus!

However I was wondering about the process of roommates. Do we get randomly assigned roommates or is there some kind of survey. What was this process like for you? Thank you!! :)
Andrea Sustaita Hi and congrats! So I joined my class Facebook group, posted a profile and found my roomates there and ended up working really well! But I believe if decide to choose a random roommate you fill out a preference form and they try to match you with someone, good luck!
Reilly Leibow Hi! Yes I’m a freshman and I think we chose our preferences in April. Basically how it works if you list the I think 3 or 4 types of dorms you prefer so mine were 1. ME towers triple 2. MC towers quad 3. ME classic triple
Angelique Espino so since you put a quad as one of your dorm preferences did you list a 4th person as a potential roommate just in case you ended up in a quad? Or did you just stick to the two roommates you have now?
Hi and yes! As more housing announcements and forms get sent you will allow to choose your roommates, there is not a 100% guarantee but UCI does try to keep requests together!
