Aljo went up in weight and controlled a veteran 45er for 15 minutes straight. An exciting fight no, but it still showcased his wrestling and grappling skill. The man deserves his flowers.

Yes he dominated, but who wants to buy a PPV to watch that? Not me. I agree, do some ground and pound and finish the fight. I know that means giving up your position and there's a risk there, but like I said... if you don't, it's boring to watch.

It wasn't exciting but it tells you fighters are real, it wasn't easy. Regardless he should have got the interview on octagon, Dana did him dirty. Not all fights will be crazy!

I thought it was a timing issue as far as post fight interview but considering all the boos, they would've just booed his speech anyway. Feel bad for him but it was boring tho. He did well it just wasn't exciting.

@@azqq1526 Brian Ortega completely neutralizes Aljo’s grappling, and Ortega has way more power and durability. Worst possible matchup in the division, he actually has a better chance against Ilia’s style.
@@Kmtwolfdepends. Aljo is very good from the back and can hold mount off top well even in tougher positions. However fair point that Ortega is a master at submissions and he’s actually a solid boxer on feet. Aljo probably should clinch or go for sneaky takedowns that can neutralise him well without risking a gullotine submission
@@ssj4goku18825theepic I practice and watch grappling quite a bit, and from what I’ve seen from both of them, Ortega easily sweeps Aljo and probably won’t try to stop the takedown. Ortega might not get the submission but I can see him getting a ton of control time and possibly GNP tko

Because in MMA you can use all the tools at your disposal and apply them how you see fit, its the beauty of the sport. Seeing different styles is interesting to me.
