What is happening in the US, so that some people even justify allowing math text books to create divide. That first response was shameful
I love when he says “kids are a CAPTIVE audience, they can’t just walk away” brilliant! “Victimhood should not be taught in a classroom setting” there is simply no transformation value in it -EMPOWER OUR CHILDREN-show them what is right about themselves, others and their country.
Just doing math, being in math class, was "uncomfortable" enough for me! I’d have sweated bullets if I felt my answers had to be both mathematically and politically correct.
As a highschool math teacher it’s sickening
The more I see of Byron, the more I respect him. I think he will go far in the political world. Maybe to the top.

I've seen Byron Donalds before. He is a true American patriot. GOD BLESS him.
He didnt grill anyone, he respectfully put his point forward after letting others do the same. He simply had a very coherent and smart way of saying when the others didnt.
Mr. Donalds attempts to get a proper discussion on why these "lessons" do not need to be pushed in a math class, is spot on. It's proper venue would be in a social studies curriculum, openly discussed with all views voiced and accepted, instead of trying to "impress" a one sided view by just dropping charts into a context that doesn't allow for proper discussion.
Math is agnostic and there is no need to politicize problems. Without knowing how the values for the chart were derived, such values are nonsense.

Absolutely love how he conducted that line of questioning. Why can't we have politicians with this kind of professionalism in Canada?
When I was in school, in English class we were taught English. History class, history, Math class, math. Most of the world was taught that way. That's why we have all of the things we enjoy as part of lives today. Restaurant, universities, cars, grocery stores and a myriad of technology. People would never have gotten that far if they were taught the things the now teach in schools
Maybe if America focuses on math during math our students wouldn't be doing so poorly. School vouchers would be a blessing.
