  • This is an old documentary that was filmed about me and a couple other memory athletes (Ron White, Brad Zupp) during the early days of my memory athlete career. I've always wanted to share and get a lot of requests on where people can watch it. Jonathan Napolitano (www.jonathan-n...) is the film-maker, so check out his website and give him some love.
This takes place in 2010-2011, when I won my first USA Memory Championship. Enjoy!
    Synopsis:
A Navy veteran can meet a conference room full of strangers and minutes later recall every person’s name. A software developer can remember the order of a shuffled deck of playing cards in just a minute. A clown can juggle and memorize computer-generated numbers at the same time. This film documents their strange and fascinating journeys as they train for and compete in the 2011 USA Memory Championship.

I just watched your interview with Barbara Oakley in "learning how to learn" course, and with a quick Google search I found this inspiring documentary, thanks for uploading it.

Today I'm gonna start practicing these techniques. I'll update my progress. By God's grace I'll master these techniques.
Update: I wasn't able to practice today, I procrastinate. But tomorrow I will.

Alzheimer's is truly a daunting thing. Who are we, if not for our memories?
    Thank you for posting!

This made me think about a Podcast I listened to a while ago. Haha, I wish I could remember who it was... but they said that the more times you recall an event/object the less accurate the memory becomes. Ever heard about that?

Yeah I've heard about that but that's more for like, episodic memory I think. If I memorize a 1000 digits for example, the more times I recall it, the stronger it becomes and the less likely I'll forget it.

Thanks for uploading. I will definitely watch that over the next few days along with that somewhat similar "Ace of Diamonds V.2 2.17" documentary I just found on vimeo.
