I think the 1962 cuban missile crisis is a decent way to summarize the current war in Ukraine especially with the recent news that Russia has been in Caribbean waters/Cuba for the past two days as an answer to nato countries allowing Ukrainians to shoot the long range missiles they've provided into Russia. Talent shows are great but you'd probably get more satisfying results with things that doesn't require you be at the mercy of low attention span audience voters. You should go for Guinness's world records.

Well, I'm not going to describe what Russians are doing here partly because CZcams will immediately delete my comment and also because there's enough pictures and footage of what's going on in Ukraine (I think an image of an eleven-year-old boy burying his sister would suffice). I was at the funeral lately and while we were waiting for priest to arrive I saw a woman who was walking desultorily among graves and asking for her son, I saw two grown-ass men weeping at the grave of their friend, and a woman sitting at the grave of what I assumed was either her husband or brother. As for them just trying to live their lives... Well, I would like that too. But I have to live through constant air-raid warnings (we had five just today and there were drones to boot)... You know a woman in my church keeps showing me pictures of her dead son. There's too much pain already as it is. So imagine my reaction seeing Russian flag and hearing a story about a game. I'm in no position to judge you, but yes, it was very upsetting and depressing to watch (I couldn't even make it to the end). I believe only people who have lived through the same experience would understand me. Some people might say I'm exaggerating, but the opposite is true. I'm sorry if I'm rambling but that's because of lack of sleep and two-year-and-a-half of stress.

The jury before voiting said that it is a pity that they don't have the right to vote, after the voting Evgeny asked the host if he would allow the Chinese couple to take part in the final, he asked the other jury members if they agree and everyone agreed. That was the reason they presented on TV, maybe there was another one off camera. Apart from that, congratulations Nelson, I was also second in this program in my episode :)

seems like it was fun, a lot of the hardships you had sounded normal for being on a tv program, doesn't seem like you were pressed into anything that would've been legitimately weird for you--i am very surprised that, as boring as you thought it was, you were basically the second place finish that means that it did at least seem very impressive. I find it pretty impressive your mnemonics worked well through a language barrier, that's a really nice thing for you to experience. I wonder how much it falls apart or stays together in languages with a less romanized alphabet like Chinese, Arabaic, etc. I think a big part of the wow factor was the fact you were foreign and the fact you memorized SO MUCH in such a small span, it was a lot from their perspective including mine.

That was a super cool challenge. You did great. I've always wanted to visit Moscow.
