Recently during one of our live streams, someone asked about a good big bore hunting airgun for under $1000. As we discussed the topic, it became clear that the Umarex Hammer .50 cal was the way to go. Not only does it deliver up to 700+ foot-pounds at the muzzle, but it does so via a regulated power plant. I got one about 1 month ago. These are made in the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA! YES HERE !!! I want to say they fixed several of the problems they had. The new mag has no air leaking from it like the old one did. The biggest downer is you get 2 very powerful shots. Shot #3 power is about 400 FPE shot 4 there is nothing left. It is very accurate and kicks like a 12 gauge shotgun low brass . I am proud to say they got it right!
Sounds like the original Umarex Hammer only difference is the redesigned magazine that prevents blow by due to seals in the magazine.
Just some info, I just got the Hammer Carbine, and there are some important differences besides the length. The thread pitch on the barrel for the Carbine will not accept moderators, although the regular Hammer will. For some reason, they put a firearm thread on it from the factory, no one will do a moderator to fit it because of the legal issues and the NFA. The regular Hammer adapter for the DonnyFL Great Kami will not work, for sure.
Best to us .510slugs. .495 falls through mag. Texoma precision pellets has great slugs. (.511), Pro Slugs also has excellent slugs. Their 290 Gr leave the barrel at 980-990 FPS. Texoma maxi ball 375gr leaving barrel at 880-890 FPS. I’ve put more that 300 rounds through my Hammer and think it’s awesome. ✌🏼

There is no way you can use an air gun in Pennsylvania to go hunting. Big game like a deer, a bear and any kind of animal that is a large animal. You only can use an air rifle for rabbit's Turkey's bird small game.
