I feel that Blood Stone Emperor, became the first Dragon on Planetos. He probably had warging powers, he worships the blood stone and it granted him the power of warging. It could explain why he began eating Humans and his Tiger Bride was a Warging Witch that warg into Tigers. In Asian culture a Tiger is considered as powerful and dangerous as a Dragon. But like Stone the Emperor’s heart became Cold as Stone so in order to regain his Fire he began to forge for lightbringer. He call his wife and slain her which cause the moon to crack and unleash the Long Night. The emperor had a daughter whose was as cold as his heart and she went forth to create the White Shadows. In an effort to recreate the fire lost from her Father. Warging powers are the Key to recreating the Gods.

    • @keelobrown4991

Warging powers come from the children of the forest and men who have blood ties with them, like the starks. The children also predate the dawn empire by thousands of years so its not possible for the bloodstone to grant warging abilities. The dawn empire likely used blood magic to tame dragons as valyrians did that and they learnt of dragon taming by the dawn empire remnants. Its also implied that the dawn empire and valyrians used magic to mix human and dragon blood, no clue how they did that but theres tons of evidence in the books and in fire and blood.

What I still wonder is where Shireen's going to play into all this in the books. They did say her being burned was one of the 3 big moments that came from George. Book Stannis doesn't seem like the kind of guy who would just do that to this daughter for the same reason, but maybe Melisandre will get his mind warped into doing it. I can totally see it being in some form of sacrifice, regardless.

So, I'd long thought that the Last Hero was the first human to control the Others, and that there were several to succeed him. Recall that Maester Aemon gives the clue that "the cold preserves." My guess is that Jon is merely the next to sacrifice his mortal life to have some extended, ice-magic life and keep the Others (originally created and controlled by the Children) in the land of always winter, far from the realms of men.
In that regard, the "long night" followed by a new "night's king/last hero/whatever" is a cycle that will keep repeating.
I think Bran has to fit into this somehow. We know he has the power to warg humans. I bet that comes into play.

I had asked this on the last stream but I had arrived too late so I'll leave this here as it's somewhat related. I know that it's no news that George pulls in a lot of inspiration from Nordic myth but I find that not many people actually dive deep into it, and seeing as how you have a knack for mythology, I'd say this is right in your wheelhouse.
So, what do you think of the parallels between Jon or Stannis and the fire giant Surtr from the Norse mythology? He is the "Black one", guards the realm Muspell (land of fire, the opposite of lands of always winter), carries a burning sword, during Ragnarök fights against and kills the god Freyr (anglicized as Frey, heh), sort of breaks the Bifröst Bridge (a direct parallel to the Wall), and then lights the whole fucking planet on fire.
That's not all, after he opens the way the frost giants Jötunn and "all the warriors from Hel" (basically Nordic Hades, ruled by the goddess Hel) will invade, being led by none other than Loki the Deceiver himself. There are multiple parallels between Hel and Melisandre, and between Loki and Bloodraven, though I'm sure you can find much more than that.
Freyr is an interesting figure as well, outside of the similarities to House Frey with his name, he is a figure of bountiful harvest, virility, has a lot of phallic symbolism. Not that far off from old Walder with his extremely virile offspring making processes. But Freyr is also very similar to Garth Greenhand, especially with Stannis (Surtr/Grey King) killing Renly (Freyr/Garth). There is also that one event which I will directly quote from Wikipedia: "The most extensive surviving Freyr myth relates Freyr's falling in love with the female jötunn Gerðr. Eventually, she becomes his wife but first Freyr has to give away his sword which fights on its own "if wise be he who wields it." Although deprived of this weapon, Freyr defeats the jötunn Beli with an antler. However, lacking his sword, Freyr will be killed by the fire jötunn Surtr during the events of Ragnarök." I mean, you could make an entire hour's worth of video with that quote alone, it even has antler symbolism!
I'm not even getting into the other parallels between Nordic and ASoIaF figures like Tyr and Jaime or Fenrir and Bran (tying Jaime's hand getting cut off directly to him pushing Bran out of the tower with that same hand is actually so fucking cool in that context), buuuuut if you were to talk about those as well, I wouldn't be the one to say no.

So forgive me if I'm wrong, but the way I interpreted this video was that Stannis is almost trying to force his way into the Azor Ahai role (Positioning himself at Dragonstone, lighting the sword, producing shadow babies with Melisandre, etc) whereas Jon is naturally becoming more like Azor Ahai through his actions (unbeknown to him) and the general different characters he meets and scenarios he faces. Ghost being a shadow, Mel showing up and potentially being his queen, Jon being ressurected, etc.
Really interesting video and one of the coolest takes on Azor Ahai / Night King stuff that I've seen.

As for Stannis using Mel's magic to (symbolically or literally) hypnotizing people, I think it's far more accurate to say he's one of the hypnotized. For example, it's kinda baffling how his attitude to religion changes whenever Mel isn't around. He prohibits his men from making sacrifices to R'hllor during his campaign against the Boltons, he suddenly turns (or maybe reverts?) into a cynic who almost sounds like an atheist when speaking about religion, etc.... - but as soon as he's around Mel, he turns into this religious hyper-fanatic LARPing as Azor Ahai, burning statues and even people, etc.

Big fan of the theory that the sacrifice jon makes is leaving his friends and family behind to curb the others violence towards people and mediate peace.
You could have it to where dany rules the seven kingdoms as fire and Jon rules the others as ice but a different sort of “ice”. If they have a child that child would be the future and the symbolic merging of the two.

@@Luke-nn4pm As GRRM said the ending will be bittersweet. Imagine Jon's hatred of being a bastard and how bittersweet it would be to know he has created a child w Danny (out of wedlock) and that going North and becoming the new Nightsking will keep his son safe, but, will make him a bastard. Then imagine that his son will grow up to murder his father to end the threat of the Others forever, not knowing it was his father as Danny would never tell him the truth (who would say "your dad is the Nightsking?" This This would paralell Ned lying to Jon, btw) It's getting v Oedipus. All we need is for their child to sleep w Danny which would never happen, right? Oh, Targaryians are all about incest...

You have reveled many secrets and an overall understanding of ASOIAF, but I think more than that, you have discovered a way (Georges way rather) that each characters arc is laid out. We have Bran the Builder who's using architectural magic and/or technology not seen in Westeros before or since to build all these fabled structures that last throughout time. LML and Aziz I think, have an excellent clue as to where to look for who might have been behind that in the Great Empire of the Dawn. One of them, the base of the Hightower, was built by Brandon or his son Brandon. A Stark ancestor is Brandon of the Bloody Blade killed a heck of a lot of CotF, which I think is probably tied into whatever the GEotD was doing in Westeros. Brandon seems unique among the children of Garth Greenhand to have an appetite for this sort of thing. So, I imagine Bran the Builder's archaeological prowess indicates that the Starks potentially (along with Dayne, Hightower and Lannister) can be traced to the GEotD. Another maybe hint is a bloody blade that has far more durability than bronze would indicate. So I'm of the opinion that it was Brandon's son who built the Hightower on Battle Isle.
And I think this family application and LML's wanting to tie Azor Ahai to both House Stark and Essos really fits his theory well.

I want Night King to be like the Witch King of Agmar type of character. This way the prophecy of Ice and Fire will make sense when the Jon Snow series comes out. Jon is basically Frodo, who was subverted and portrayed as Aragon of the story while Daenerys is the gollum who is portrayed as Arwen, while sharing some similarities with Aragon and Boromir. If there's going to be a new series, it should be about Jon Snow dealing with the real great other with the red herring succeeded in fulfilling it's purpose.

E.G. Robert's Rebellion, with Ned playing the role of BE, casting down the AE and in thus bringing about the long night, only this time with the characters moralities reversed, with the BE figure being a 'good guy' and AE(rys) being evil, which also feels a lot like George (hence the title of this video).
