    Is anyone else mesmerised by how the markings on the road "move" thanks to the time lapse video?

    Surprising amount of LPS lighting still on the M60!

    • @mezykin
      @mezykin Před rokem

      Ah yes I miss the days where you can identify which part of the motorway you're on just through looking at the lighting but with all these new LED lights that all look the same those days are long gone now. Remember the suspended lights on the M1 after the junction connecting to the M25? No trace of it left. 😔

      @@mezykinoh yes, I see those catenary poles there empty and think of days gone by

    That part of the M60 where it meets with the M62 and M66 called Simster Island interchange near to Bury and Oldham is the most notorious Junction for congestion. Has there been plans to build a new link road for the M60 to be a continuous orbital motorway that circles around Manchester. And to keep the traffic moving.

      Lets hope

    • @Andrewjg_89
      @Andrewjg_89 Před 4 lety

      Maybe a 2-lane Clockwise flyover or underpass (tunnel) could be built for M60 traffic to avoid the M62/M66 Simster Island interchange roundabout.

      Why can’t they extend the M60 to go to Wigan

    • @premraghvani
      @premraghvani Před 8 měsíci

      Even on the counterclockwise - its a bit daft that only one of the 5 lanes on approach to simister island allows you to slip back onto the M60 bypassing the traffic lights...
      Plus even more daft when I had to drive from/to junction 19 to M66 where I had to actually go from the left to the right in tje span of a minute

  • @manomaylr
    @manomaylr Před 5 lety +3

    So unfair that the M60 gets full MS4s on their smart motorway sections but the M25 is stuck with measly MS2s when there’s no ALR. Why can’t they fit MS4 systems throughout the M25 wherever there’s VSL (near Heathrow they don’t have MS4s only in the north where there’s ALR)

    • @blueberrysavers3547
      @blueberrysavers3547 Před 4 lety +1

      Well because the M25 smart motorway has been constructed between 2009-2012 (Junction 16-23 and 27-30) and the ALR has been constructed between 2013-2014 (Junction 5-7 and 23-27).

    • @manomaylr
      @manomaylr Před 4 lety +2

      Apple Bryner that’s true but MS4s have existed on smart motorways since 2006 so how come they weren’t rolled out with all variable speed limit schemes? And also, J6-7 does not have MS4s.

    • @blueberrysavers3547
      @blueberrysavers3547 Před 4 lety +2

      I've driven on that road before and I mostly see MS4s. You can also check Google maps

    • @manomaylr
      @manomaylr Před 4 lety +1

      Bossy Bryner M25 J5-6 and J23-27 have MS4 systems and variable speed limits. J27-30, J1-3 and J6-23 all have lane control and variable speed limits but not MS4 variable message signs (MS2 VMS are used instead.) what I’m saying is the entire motorway should have MS4 systems.

      I'm unlikely to get a video until it's complete - smart motorway roadworks aren't particularly interesting!
