You are a force for good. I am grateful.

🤯 I almost lost my mind when I saw this pop up. Dan Carlin and Lex for 3hrs is the meeting of the minds we need.

I woke up this morning and found myself in one of those terrible internet holes where I made the mistake of watching a violent video too long. And then i got another, and another. I read the comments on these videos, and found so much hatred. People fighting amongst themselves over the fighting in the videos. It made me really sad. A terrible way to wake up, that too many of us fall prey to every single day.
Then I threw on Lex and tried to get back to sleep. But I couldn't because I was so moved by his relentless positivity about there being more good than evil in the world. I then went to the comments to find the most kind people in the world, all together, boosting each other up, helping, discussing, and even disagreeing - but not disrespecting. It turned my mood from feeling helpless to feeling so hopeful.
I have been watching you Lex since day one. It was an accident I found you. I thought your voice was the same as this crazy conspiracy theorist guy and was trying to connect the dots to see if you were him. You weren't. This was back when you would post videos of you playing guitar and things before the podcasts. I kept watching by accident too. I just wanted your soothing voice to put me to sleep.
And here we are many years later, and you have executed your vision. Still wearing your suit. Still talking softly in a monotone voice, but there's something new now. You've united all the good people in the world. The thinkers and the lovers. The egoless.
And it dawned on me....
This mf just started the revolution that will break the spell of hatred throughout the entire world. He did it with a soft voice, a clean suit, and love.
What a thing to witness.

Yes, good sir Lex, sincerely, how surreal is this interview? To be watching it in 2022 and see that it was recorded BEFORE November 2020, with all the weight that that particular moment in history carries, and somehow the rhetoric of the "context of the times" in present-day [redacted] America echoes... things we're not currently allowed to even discuss on these so-called platforms of discussion. Things like "Germany Awake." The deluge of the masses, was it? The eye of the beholder thing? Huh. Thank you for your work.

This is my favorite Dan Carlins podcast as a guest. They actually talk about history. Whenever he visits Joe Rogan, they just talk about how great podcasting is for three hours.
3 hours is not nearly enough. These two just sitting down and talking is beyond my ability to describe great.
Dan Carlin sometimes is wasted on podcasts. He is a history buff so that is what they mostly should be talking about.

You shouldn't love/hate the person more than its legacy.
@@austinferrin2633 You are looking for long range results and legacy and if that is overall positive (according to your data and your understanding) then you can look for the "real" person in order to find out if you want to act like or support this kind of person. Unfortunately, a good legacy is often inhibited by finding the "real" person and a destructive legacy is often romanticized by "new evidence" (Stalin was seen feeding a stray cat).

I never knew how amazing history was until I got out of education and started learning about it on my own. It takes way more effort that popping in a movie, but fiction can't compare to so many of the amazing stories of good and bad that make up the story of man

I dunno, Lex might be a genius with AI algorithm but he seems pretty dumb in alot of other aspects about life, Dan Carlin is one of the best podcasters out there, he has the charm and personality, the ease of words and the historical knowledge to accompany it all, and yet Lex starts off with the most obvious question, is evil real? then he himself comes out and tells the answer right away, its a matter of perspective, truly gives Dan nothing to work with, I felt bad for Dan, he must have thought why am I even here

As a Polish person, who grew up in the Eastern Bloc, but at the age of 14 moved to the UK with their parents, I appreciate Lex's view on the discrepancies between the two cultures. It really rings a bell. Except, of course, as Polish people, we hated the soviet union with a burning passion haha

there is a whole list of guests that have been on JRE i would appreciate to hear Lex have a conversation with. Randall Carlson is at the top of the list for me and a close second is Graham Hancock.
I was really disappointed when Randall Carlson didn't make an appearance this past February, there were rumours that he was meant to be on JRE this year.

I have to say that I could almost dedicate my precious and limited existence contently to sitting and absorbing your content. The variety of guests that you have and topics that you discuss, the calm intellect the insightful honesty with which you dissect these topics or engage your guests sets a great example for thinkers of today and I would say society as a whole very cordial professional intelligent unreserved I just I could spend my whole life listening to your podcasts and almost feel that it wasn't wasted, almost. Unfortunately I must go and do what it is I do for the day but I will listen as I do that. As a clinical psychotherapist I learnt early on that all people think they’re doing the right thing. The question then becomes what are they doing and what is right or wrong about it.
The section when Lex talks about Russia is phenomenal. This is one of the first times where it feels like it's Lex being interviewed by the guest. Fantastic.
I love these podcasts so much. It’s absolutely brain food. I love the structure, the questions, the tone and ambience, the magnitude and weight of the topics. The philosophical framing and the raw, open honesty. I just love this podcast so much.
His knowledge of history and historical figures, and the insight that comes with it... Great... but his story telling is his greatest skill. One of the most memorable orators of our era.

I was skeptical about Lex when I first heard him on Rogans podcast but he’s slowly but surely gaining my respect. He’s doing a great job with this podcast
I used to just skip JRE episodes with Lex. I just thought he was boring and came off as a smarmy know-it-all (kinda like Tim Pool). But after seeing more videos of him, I've come to conclude that he's much more open-minded with more layers to him that I overlooked.

Smartest conversation I’ve listened to. Many things I’ve been mulling over but couldn’t articulate. This helped me go from a gut feeling to nuanced articulation.
Dan Carlin's Narration is second to none. While listening to his description the battle of Midway in his last Supernova in the East Podcast the vividness it elicited in me was like watching a blockbuster movie
Very motivated in his trade.
This was my first introduction to Hardcore History, and I have to say Dan Carlin is one of my number 1 Podcasters of all time.
Same for me, I listened to this around the time it came out and immediately went down one of the most informative and entertaining rabbit holes I think the internet has to offer. I'd recommend Blueprint for Armageddon if you haven't already found it, Dan brings WWI to life in a way that only he can. Kings of Kings is also really interesting. You really can't go wrong with anything he puts out. Enjoy!!!

Some worrying comments here. Very Candace Owens like. These comments would not have been made until recently and it shows my theory that knowledge about the second world war would fade as the survivors of it die of old age. Just as I cannot understand the first world war so the modern day generation do not understand ww2.
