Absolutely loved this video & found it extremely helpful! About 2 weeks ago, I encountered a blind guy on campus, saw that he was having trouble walking down the street to eventually cross over, so I decided to help out. I had never encountered anyone like him, so indeed I made a couple mistakes as we walked to class. We have to walk from one building to the other by using the crosswalk with lots of traffic. I felt so bad because upon getting to the building where he was going, after saying bye I said see you around. And immediately regretted that. I know he probably didn’t take it offensively, but I sure as hell felt terrible. I came home watched several videos & I’ve guided him 2 times after that now. This video was far more informative than any of the others I watched. I’ve found myself trying to learn about what his world is like & YT has been a great help! For next time I know, never count the steps🤣

After my first trip with Traveleyes, I was speaking my route.. *step up* *Step down^... and I noticed more around me. After a few trips with traveleyes, well, with seasoned VI travellers, I found the words alcohol and food, went hand in hand and you had lots of friends. But then I had been educated on supporting blind people by Amar, and I had a fantastic time assisting people with their trips and being their eyes. Easy Peasy :-)

Definitely now totally blind persons are capable to do much more in orientation and mobility. They even can differentiate colors, books on their colors and authors, cars on their color and models, etc. And to locate any needed object around, even in new environment. And walk confidently along roads and paths on their own without canes or guides.

So, I sort of did ok guiding a blind man in Jerusalem not too long ago… I asked if he’d like to take my arm and I let him know when there were gaps in the road for the light rail. I told him about a narrow spot coming up but didn’t drop my arm back to guide him through. This is great if I ever bump into him or anyone else blind in the future 🙂

I was talking to a blind person on a train and helped him a little bit (he actually didn't need my help but I guess he appreciated it anyway). Later I saw him again on a different train and I said "oh.. so we see us again ". I felt so awkward about my remark later.
