One of the best drummers I've seen. He was inches from giving up on music before he joined Interpol, so he definitely has a "no bullshit" style. It's testament to the rhythm section especially that they could actually make some noise with what are very dark, brooding songs... they are to post-punk as MGMT is to disco.
Sam is an effortlessly brilliant drummer. They are a wonderful group of musicians really. Carlos's bass playing particularly on 'The New' leaves me in awe.
This is one of the best things I've ever watched istg. The live versions of this song I've seen are honestly better than the studio version in my opinion
These guys opened for The Cure like in 2006, I went to see them and was literally right next to them in the front row. Tried to flirt with the bassist lol
Everything about this band fits perfectly together. The rich sound of Paul's voice joined with their fantastically unique music and meaningful lyrics. Amazing!
I love it when bands can actually sound good live too. I almost dislike concerts because so many bands sound so different live, it is not the stuff I have come to like from their albums. Thank you Interpol for being the same live as you are on albums. :) LOVE IT.
I remember the first time I heard this (and no it wasn't on a perfume advert). I just remember thinking "oh, so this is what to be cool truly means." A brilliant song. If you get time check out Lucid Rivers.
This is one of the first interpol songs i heard, i remember thinking "WTF! AWESOME" now im a huge Interpol fan and have heard all their work and this became one of my least favourite songs, but this performance still blows me away, so fucking solid!
we are all very fortunate to have the opportunity to see and hear this amazing band...Acts like Interpol only come around every decade or so, if that....
The funny thing is that Paul Banks said Joy Division isn't one of their influences. well anyway, they are a great band. i like the fact they are able to make a good live performance too and Paul's voice is soooo amazing
de cierta forma los strokes si salvaron al rock, se volvieron populares bandas garage como interpol y los white stripes, pero como no hubo bandas nuevas y poca evolucion musical duro poco
Love this song! I'll never forget when I saw them in Mexico City in Corona Capital Fest 2011. My sis and I were almost dead between the crowd... but still singing: ...Can't you see what you've done to my heart... and soul !!!
I like their diversity. Drummer from '60 (the bad seeds), guitarist from '70 (the killers), bassist form '80 ( some oi punk) , and singer from the best period of music the '90 (paul).

Not sure if MGMT to disco was the best comparison. Their only real disco song was Electric Feel
@@silverlink8805 Completely agree, I don't get the disco comparison. They always reminded me more of a modern/pop take on psychedelic rock.
@@silverlink8805 I think the comparison is more to pop
all your points are bs mate. non sequiturs.
It's hard to believe that's the voice coming out of that beautiful human being.
you can't do all that without that drummer
Lummox Lewis all class is this bloke.

A band that actually plays well live..

The bassist is just shredding

in some cases the word Shredding could be translated as doing it amaizing
Carlos V. Damn right
Jeremy Blatter
Jeremy Blatter
Tight as very few bands can ever be! And man, Pauls gotta be the handsomest man alive!
Loves me some Interpol...and Quentin Tarantino on keys is good too
I love his voice, it sounds so unique...like he's sick all the time but in a good way
This is one of the best things I've ever watched istg. The live versions of this song I've seen are honestly better than the studio version in my opinion

The Bass !! AHHH!!!
I love it when bands can actually sound good live too. I almost dislike concerts because so many bands sound so different live, it is not the stuff I have come to like from their albums. Thank you Interpol for being the same live as you are on albums. :) LOVE IT.

Amazing and perfect performance!
His voice seems Ian Curtis' voice
absolutely! it was my first thought
Paloma Viega For sure!
Their entire sound is based on Joy Division and the post punk genre so that makes sense.
Yep, complete rip off
@@lukasdonald1639 That's not what a rip off is.
those vocals ....awesome
yes! i've listenened to this video about 20 times now.... the bass playing is amazing.
2018 and im still in love with paul
i love this performance it might even be the best one
This is one of the first interpol songs i heard, i remember thinking "WTF! AWESOME" now im a huge Interpol fan and have heard all their work and this became one of my least favourite songs, but this performance still blows me away, so fucking solid!
WOW incredible! I saw them a few years ago, once of the best live bands I've ever seen!
"you make me wanna pick up a guitar and cekebrate the myriad ways that i love you"
just great.
They wouldn't be the same without Sam Fogarino's drumming - awesome.
He is a class act.
The best in whole indie!!!
Miguel Carrillo post punk ..

Que felices fuimos a inicios del siglo cuando gracias a Los Strokes tuvimos ese rock and roll revival.

¿No ves lo que le has hecho a mi corazon... y a mi alma? Es un lugar vacío ahora...

Damn I love this song, and such an awesome LIVE version!!!
Why this song never was in Guitar Hero?
+sodiamoyan23 This song song was in "Guitar Hero: Warrior of Rock" if I remember correctly.
+Jesus Gil no it wasn't unless it is was DLC I missed.
+slayerslash25 Yes it is, it is part of the original game, not DLC
Diana Mollocana because guitar hero is for lame asses
Luis Lopez it was in Rock smooth
