    Great video again Mark, love the new winner/binner graphics 👍👍. As for the product I use it every morning to wash the truck off after pounding the motorways the night before. I use it in a spray bottle at 10:1 (can only carry so much stuff in my work bag) and yes it doesn't bring the cab up sparklean 🤣🤣 it does take a lot of the traffic film off and make it look more presentable. Another plus is the price of this stuff especially when you dilute it down even more.

    I used GS 1:50 on a customer's car as a prewash, rinsed car before, was in my garage (so not in direct sun light), waited 2 mins and sprayed off. It left a horrible film on the car. I still can't explain or figure out why? I had to clay bar the vehicle it was a HUGE mess. Prior to that I have used it 20-30 times on my own vehicles as a prewash without issue 🤷🤷

    I've used this on my car, about 30:1 dilution, and it's awesome. Hot water is better when using these types of products as it foams better and actually gives the APC more bite and cleaning power ( IMHO ) - but, your film on TFR blows this away....think I'll use TFR to pre-wash from now on, since it's great for a trailer/ trucks, then my car will also reap the benefits of the TFR cleaning power...it's only fair, seems silly not to

    • @SparkleanAutos
      @SparkleanAutos  Před rokem +1

      The only thing with the TFR, even a non-caustic one like that, prolonged use still carried the risk of fading uncoated materials (black plastics etc.) The stronger the chemicals the greater the risks!
      I tend to keep the TFR on standby for vehicles that need it - commercials or something that hasn't been cleaned for a while and has little to no protection. Personally I'd avoid it as a regular/weekly maintenance product, as good as it is 👍🏼👍🏼

    • @lifeslooker
      @lifeslooker Před rokem +1

      @@SparkleanAutos I get it, but, when you use a degree of common sense, then this won’t really be an issue. Given the fact there are loads of good plastic restorers out there, for getting the debris on the car off in one shot and then using a contact wash, as long as you don’t let it dwell for silly amounts of time, it’s an economical way to clean your car. And you’ll have less reliance on a citrus pre wash. Even with the latter, really good ones carry the risk of harming the plastics. Chemical guys do good restorers, so there’s that option. Also depends on age of the car, etc

    Are there 2 or 3 products you could recommend for the exterior? I don't want to spend a fortune buying wheel cleaners, bug removes, iron removers, tar removers, special wheel brushes, snow foam, shampoo, stripping shampoo, paint prep lubricant, IPA panel wipes, sealant, glass cleaner etc. I was thinking maybe I just need a snow foam that will work as a shampoo, lubricant, glass cleaner, wheel cleaner. Then just a iron remover, clay towel and sealant. As well as a wheel cleaner can green star also be a snow foam / shampoo / lubricant for your paint and as a glass cleaner?

    • @SparkleanAutos
      @SparkleanAutos  Před 9 měsíci

      Ideally you'd want a shed full of products but that's not always suitable for everyone so if you had to narrow it down to 3 products I would say you need;
      1. An APC/pre-wash/bug remover etc. For that id recommend the product in this video - www.in2detailing.co.uk/collections/koch-chemie-1/products/koch-chemie-green-star-universal-cleaner?ghref=3377%3A554508
      2. A Shampoo (obviously lol!) - there are a number of fantastic shampoos to choose from but one of my favourites is the Garage Therapy one, just 20ml in a bucket of water...
      www.in2detailing.co.uk/collections/car-shampoo/products/garage-therapy-one-car-shampoo?ghref=3377%3A554508
      3. Some sort of protections - will stop dirt bonding to your paintwork and make it easier to clean - I'd recommend a spray & rinse sealant... My personal favourite is Magiseal from Autobrite Direct - you'll get 6-8 weeks of protection and only takes a couple of minutes to apply.
      www.in2detailing.co.uk/collections/autobrite-direct/products/autobrite-direct-ceramic-shield-ceramic-magiseal?ghref=3377%3A554508
      Hopefully that answers your question 🙂👍🏼

    • @SparkleanAutos
      @SparkleanAutos  Před 9 měsíci

      If you're wanting to add in decontamination then it'll be very hard to keep it at 3 products as these are dedicated products for a particular purpose.
      You did mention using a snowfoam as a shampoo but the problem is that, while they may appear similar on the vehicle in terms of suds etc., they are typically very different - snow foams aren't always the strongest cleaners and don't generally contain lubricants... shampoos don't generally breakdown dirt without contact so aren't really cost effective as pre-wash products.

      I'm fully aware that some instances require acid wheel cleaners - I've been cleaning cars for 30+ years .. my point is that it's completely unnecessary and potentially harmful to use them regularly - yes the paint itself may not be susceptible to damage from the acid cleaners, but surrounding parts might be - plastic centre caps, unpainted wheel bolts, brake/suspension components.
      Every type of cleaning product has its place, but not every product is suitable for every situation. I wouldn't use acid wheels on a regular basis in the same way that I wouldn't use a polishing compound on a regular basis.

    I use surfex hd how does this compare

    • @SparkleanAutos
      @SparkleanAutos  Před rokem +1

      I've yet to do a direct comparison but as someone who has used surfex for years also, I would say on pure price, surfex is better value due to its price for 5L... But I would reach for this just as often - I find it more enjoyable to use, more pleasant smell, and it doesn't seem to leave behind a residue that I sometimes find with surfex.

    How does it compare to Koch Chemie MZR ?

      I haven't had a chance yet to use MZR so cannot give you a comparison. Perhaps it's something I can look at down the line 👍🏼

    Top video Mark. You really can't fault Green Star. Such a great APC and at £6 a litre it's fantastic value. Why anyone would buy a rtu APC or pre wash with this around?? I don't personally think it's got the bite of Surfex but it's certainly one you'd split hairs on. That said I do find it more enjoyable to use than Surfex as it foams a little more. Just personal preference though. Love to see it in combo with gentle snow foam from Koch at some point. Iv heard people use this combo

      Thank you Andy 😊 completely agree with you, surfex might just be a little stronger, a little more versatile and a little cheaper, but there is something about this that makes it more pleasant to use 🤔 maybe it's the foaming, the smell, the colour 🤷🏻‍♂️
      I've seen/heard of a few people trying it with Gentle Snow too, definitely one to pick up in the near future 👍🏼
      Thanks again 😁

    Exterior use is 1:5. It might be useful to read instructions before presenting it to people. 1:10 for wheels does nothing. 1:5 for wheels does magic.

      Sorry Alex, I had a look for your expert channel but can't find anything 🤔 strange. Anyway the following information, directly from Koch Chemie's website will probably help you in future - I wouldn't want you making an arse of yourself 👍🏼
      "Depending on the dirt accumulation: cleaning vehicle exteriors and engines use a 1:5 to 1:30 solution."

      Agreed, as you would see in every other video that I mixed products, this time I didn't... Doesn't really matter as I was adding the water slowly from a jug. That would only be important if it was from a tap
