This is just a quick video showing you guys my Altoids survival tin. I take this with me whenever I go hiking and it is still a work in progress. Hope you enjoy!
I’ll give you mad props my friend I’ve built quite a few Altoids survival tins and I’ve gotten pretty good at it a lot of people make a bunch of mistakes for me fill them but you did an amazing job keep pursuing your passion and eventually your passion will pursue you. Great work
at 8:56 you say that it may not be the best but in my opinion it is a vary good Altoids Survival tin, ive watched many videos on Altoids survival tins and i think this is vary well put together bud, i enjoyed the video :)
Dude, that's actually a really well thought out kit. Great job. If it was me, I'd dump that paracord compass thing and add a Nano Streamlight flashlight. In the summer, I'd carry one of those larger perfume sample vials and fill it with bug juice. It sucks being eaten alive by bugs. I'd add a couple more larger safety pins too to that sewing kit, and drop that carabiner. It's not good for anything really. I'd also drop that Chinese fishing line and get at least 30 feet of good braided line. If you want to use that foil for a cup, you REALLY need to check out John's channel at commonsenseoutdoors and he shows how to fold and roll foil and make a VERY cool cup to REALLY boil water in and it works. The way you have your foil now, I promise it will leak and not hold water. Over all, it's a great little kit though. Keep up the great work. Oh, one more thing, you might want to drop that Neosporin and add another vial of TINCTURE OF IODINE. It will work on cuts AND treat water. Here, this is from EPA.GOV web site on emergency water treatment: You can use tincture of iodine to disinfect filtered and settled water. Common household iodine from the medicine chest or first aid kit may be used to disinfect water. Add five drops of 2% U.S. or your country’s approved Pharmacopeia tincture of iodine to each quart or liter of clear water.
Great job guy, I was into this when I was a scout and I have used it all my life. I'm soon going to post my kits on CZcams be sure to check it out. I have some features you might want to add to your tin.
Very cool, man! I like how you arranged the stuff in the tin. Also, I think including a bill is very clever. Who knows exactly what situation you have to break out the tin for, yeah? Weighs almost nothing and volumes almost nothing... why not? If nothing else, maybe use it as tinder? Right on, dude!
while its is not the best as you stated out of all the ones I've watched today I like this one the most and as far as the knife to school thing it's ridicules how much trouble you would get in for that knife these days you would probably get expelled for that tiny little toe poker although if you do forget and it follows you to school all you have to do is forget about it if your worried all day people will want to know whats up and the more that know the less likely of you will get away with it
The dollar store, that's where I get most of my budget stuff. As for the knife, I got mine at a dealer but you can get them online anywhere fro cheap, just look up spyderco bug series.
Yet another wannabe. How does your kit work in a REAL survival situation? I'll issue my standard challenge: Bring your kit to South Dakota. We, you and I, will spend a year in the Black Hills National Forest. If your kit is worth half a shit, you'll walk out with me. If not...Are you up for it, amatuer? Same challenge for you commando. Are either of you seriously interested in how good you really are? Or, are you satisfied with being ex-spurts?
Sorry too many other important things going on in my life. Also this kit isn't something i'd put my life on, the idea is to pack a survival kit in the smallest container possible, that's it. However, if you have something better I'd like to see it.
You opened it up and I was like "WOAH!" It seriously looked like a mini tactical case. I'm impressed. Great job. :)
The Morse code is great, you are wise beyond your years. Good work.
This is a great video and the grasshopper is an awesome blade. Way to use the altoids tin effectively.

That was really good. Great ideas…
WHEN YOU MAKE A MORSE CODE CARD BE SURE TO INCLUDE NUMBERS AS WELL AS LETTERS, OTHERWISE YOU WILL HAVE TO HAVE TO SPELL OUT NUMBERS
best kit seen yet
One of the best kits out there : great job !!!!
Gismo Planner Thank you!
nice that's great!!!!!!!
Add steel wool or char cloth for fire, also a condom for holding water. Also have flint in steel in case the matches get wet.

This is great but a lighter would come in handy as well
Defiantly, (v2.0) coming soon.
instead of the handy wipes use some hand snitizer thats what i have in my budget bag
Also where did you get the paracord compass and the little knife?
The dollar store, that's where I get most of my budget stuff.
As for the knife, I got mine at a dealer but you can get them online anywhere fro cheap, just look up spyderco bug series.
how do you fit all that in there dang
dude nice work. throw a mini bic lighter in there. their the best . find some room for one
No this is for comedic purposes...not hating...
This is my favorite knife. I love it. It's my brother 0-0
But other than those things everything is good
You forgot to put LSD in it.
eh needs more fishing line and power bait
And especially don't buy your power cord at the dollar store
Get a new compass
He said he's going to. Did you not hear him
