  • Bad Fusible Link Symptoms. In this video you will learn the common symptoms of a bad fusible link, how to troubleshoot fusible link issues, and when to seek professional fusible link replacement service.
Specific fusible link failure symptoms covered include no-start conditions, weird electrical gremlins, constantly blowing fuses, engine performance issues, dimming headlights, and more. Viewers will gain critical knowledge for identifying common warning signs of a potentially compromised fusible link in their vehicle.
A fusible link is a wired electrical connection designed to protect an electrical circuit by failing before any other wiring in the circuit does. Essentially it acts as a safeguard to prevent major damage. In this DIY auto repair video, a professional mechanic explains everything you need to know about fusible links including what they do, how they work, problems they can cause, and how to test them.
This video will teach you fusible link warning signs like burning smells, dimming lights, stuck windows, and glitchy electronics. You will also learn how and why fusible links fail more often than fuses. Key fusible link topics covered include voltage drops, intermittent issues after a jump start, identifying bad wires, no click when turning the key, battery drain, computer problems causing stalling or no start, headlights cutting off while driving at night, and engine no crank conditions.

Ok, my 2002 Toyota Tundra keeps draining my battery, I didn't have a single light in my dash. I charged my battery went to Auto Zone and they couldn't tested because the battery was too low. I'm a 65 yo woman and I used to work on my own 66 GTO but these newer cars are to hard for me to understand. So I didn't have any lights on in my dash, is it the visible link or one of the other fuses?

I replacedmy battery first, then my fusible link and alternator on my 2008 4runner. Car starts but no electrical components work such as ac, radio, power windows, lift gate and will not shift out of park. Wondering if it is my ecm?

Can you explain how a fusible link would fail, other than blowing as intended? I've never seen one do anything except blow; they are, after all, a fuse. If there is a bad connection, that is a mechanical issue, not a "bad" fusible link. Can you explain how you justify your post?

Hi, A fusible link can fail due to corrosion or physical damage, causing it to degrade or break down over time. This can result in intermittent electrical issues or a complete failure of the circuit, even without "blowing" as intended. These issues can be mistaken for a "bad" fusible link. Thanks for watching!
