70K for an XLT at the end of the day is absolutely absurd
It's not the price of the truck it's the value of the dollar
Usually I don't complain about vehicle prices because I know in general they are expensive but you are so right. $70k for an XLT is out of this world. XLT used to be barely a step up from a work truck. Now it's much nicer and outrageously priced.
Welcome to bidenomics
My 2018 platinum was 67k sticker. More than just “inflation.”
Xlt should be 57k dollars
They refreshed the price 😂😂
But hey it’s got a 🆕 GRILL! lol
Ya.... I'll just keep old truck hahaha 😆
and who hasnt ?
They bend you over first then give you the old
how u doin .
The more widgets, the more issues, the more the consumer will be broke😂😂😂
At this point, which ever truck builder offer the best discounts, it will be the best seller.
GM and Ford both at $9K right now and 2% financing.
Be careful though. Tundra’s which are traditionally the most reliable are having major issues right now. Including blown motors. I blew mine at 113k on my 2016 F150 and swore I’d never buy a Ford truck again. But after researching all the others, I’d buy Ford again. They have fixed the issues from earlier years.
Not in Ohio. 2% was only for leftover 2023 models. 2024s are 5.9% @@plmn93
not true i work for CJDR and out trucks were insanely discounted and yet we dropped 35% in sales nobody wants a ram even with $10-$15k off
Ford F series trucks have been the #1 selling vehicles in the world for 47 years in a row.
So it has the $5,000 tail lights? 70k for a 1/2 ton....insane.
Everybody wants LEDs, but nobody seems to understand how much they cost. In 20 years a burned out light will total the vehicle.
LEDs are pretty cheap in my experience.
@@phild9813 F-150 LED taillights cost four times as much as incandescent bulb taillights and over 100 times as much as just replacing a bulb. Because you can't just replace a bulb with LED lights. You have to replace the entire assembly, which is ridiculous.
@@plmn93 That's more Ford being greedy.
$70k for cloth Ford Focus seats lol.
$70k for a F-150 XLT is why I just spent $10k to overhaul the Powertrain in my 2013 F-150 XLT.
It's almost always cheaper to fix a vehicle you own, than it is to buy a new one.
I priced a new F150 in February, a 2023 F150 extended cab XL 4x4 coyote V8 at $50,000 for the least optioned truck available. I bought a used Nissan Frontier crew cab 4x4 with 25,000 miles for $25,000 and I'm very happy with my choice. I refuse to spend the kind of money a new full size 1/2 ton 4x4 costs.
You and I think alike…recently priced virtually the same truck at $56k. They’re insane.
Gonna cut out my rusty cab corners and rockers soon and keep cruising my ‘13.
I also just got at frontier. Mine is a pro4x. Very happy with it. Such a great truck. It's a simple, no nonsense truck. Easy to live with. I agree these prices are insane, especially I'm Canada.. here a f150 sport is roughly 72000.. no thanks.
I turned my lease back in on a 2021 f150 xlt and bought a used frontier 1 owner 6ft bed crew cab 45k miles 17k dollars. All new vehicles are overpriced. Also looked at 50k Tacoma didn’t even have power seats.
@@rbird7193I wouldn’t even look at a Tacoma knowing they are 50k ✌️ … I don’t care if all the prices are up, I ain’t paying
I ordered a new 2021ram1500 classic tradesman quad cab 4x4 v6 with lots of extras took 3 months to get 40,500 $ with taxes and extended warranty great simple truck 🚚 🛻 👍
Lmao 70k for an xlt. Say no to crack!
The day I can't open and close my tailgate is the day you can take my keys away from me.
LOL I was just thinking man that's cool tech but what happens when it breaks, can you still open it manually?
What keys? With push button start, they already took them.
Exactly 💯 I agree 👍 with you
These features help when you get older ... trust me I cannot lift what I used to and climbing in and out of the tailgate can be a pain. I still work every day and these features help me get my job done. Ford is doing their research and I think doing it well. I do agree the lower end should be far more simpler than today - How about an "X" that does not have radio screens, rubber mats, maybe manual windows, no power anything, AC as an option ... simple simple simple for the buyer who wants it or cannot afford the fancy stuff. I bet that X truck could be priced around $29K - also only four colors, white, black, blue and red!
If you sleep in the back, it’s nice to be able to close the tailgate from the inside. It’s a niche feature for sure, but it has its uses.
Biggest issue is the digital button to open; I ran into this very issue after my truck was in an accident that disconnected the wires to the latch mechanism and found no way to override to open the tailgate even after I removed the back panel on it.
The color of the cuffs on your shirt make it look like you have duct tape on your sleeves 😁
I thought the same thing.
Came here to say the same!! It's all I could look at...
Old Soviet trick
Hey, he had to give up something in order to buy that truck .... the shirt off of his back ..... comes to mind .😂😂😂😂😂
Cannot unsee
I’m still driving my 2010 F-150 XLT with 122k miles on her! She drives and looks brand new so I’m keeping her as long as I can! I also just love the 09-14 body style too!
Of course I would love to have a newer F-150 but I just can’t justify spending the prices. At least, not in my current financial situation.
It should have another decade left, as long as rust doesn’t kill it
I was in the market last summer. Looked at all the options and the Lariat checked all the boxes. Went with a used 2020 because I couldn't see spending $70k for a 2024. Saved over $30k in December.
I work at a Ford Dealership and $75-80 for a nice XLT is unacceptable. That was the price of a king ranch or platinum in 2019.
You were smart to hold the price of the truck till the end of the video! MSRP $70K, what a joke!
I bought my 302A 5.0 XLT FX4 with BAP for $48k.
If you’re actually paying MSRP you can’t negotiate worth a shit, I got over $10k off.
Much rather spend money on a restored older truck, back when they were simple mechanical and you can work on them yourself in maintaining and fixing them.
I only like Fords in the 70s. 4 speed 4x4 single cab with a 360,390 in it. And perfer shortbed.
Amen!!!!
The Man..The Myth...The Legend...great review as always Andrey...Cant wait for the Tremor and Raptor R review. 🤘😁👍

Great Job TFL... Very informative as always ! Appreciate all your videos and the work you put into them.
Thank you for the kind words.
They need to lower their prices
Wish in one hand and shit in the other, see which one fills up first.
If they are still the best selling, then their prices will continue to go up. In 10 years, we will be saying $50k for a base truck is amazing. $80k for a high end truck will be a steal.
@nathanmcdonald610 yeah yeah
These will look great sitting on the lots not selling.
First off, i'm not a Ford guy. But a work truck with the Coyote V-8 for under 40 grand? Sign me up!
The F150 Powerboost Hybrid truck is amazing! Real world 6100 miles across the plains and the Rockies to the top of Mt Rainier and back 22.8 MPG! Done in a 2021 Powerboost a bit heavier than Andre's XL truck. Return trip was thru Utah to Ike Tunnel and Golden, Co. and across plains again.
Top of Mt Rainier? That's quite a climb.
A Maverick would have done 36 mph. .A Tesla 3 long-range would have used 1/3 the energy.
May not have worked for you, but much more effective light transportation alternatives exist that are much less expensive.
I was just playing with Ford's build site. They list the Power boost as $2k more expensive than the 5.0. However, later there is a hybrid discount which makes it only $500 more. So it is reasonably priced.
Least reliable truck made. And on the trucks to avoid list
LOL 😂, if I was worried about gas usage.... I'd walk.
Always a pleasure to watch Andrey present new trucks and information. Looking forward to the 2024 F-150 Tremor review.
Thank you for the kind words.
I had a 2021 LARIAT w/2.7 Ecoboost. 95k miles. Not one issue. Just did oil changes and tires. Not even brakes. Awesome truck! Loved it.
Just received my new 2024 XLT. 2.7 EcoBoost. 500 miles in. A great truck. Sticker was 58k. Overall well pleased. Looking to see if this one is as flawless as the last.
Why tf would you get rid of an awesome truck that you loved? $ to burn?
@@MarkWitzel no. It's my company vehicle. They lease 3 years / 75miles. Trust me I would have kept the 2021 great truck.
The options on this XLT were luxury in 2014. (LED light modules with BLIS sensor) I do like radar cruise and trailer sway control, but the rest is bloated. My 2008 XLT Crew had backup camera, adaptive cruise, and trailer sway. That was plenty.
I thought the XLT had the gear selector on the column. Is it available as an upgrade or do I need to stick with the STX?
As a contractor and overlander, I need the ability to use my vehicle as a truck, motel, command center, work space, fishing/hunting base and storage unit, and my 25-year-old 4x4 Suburban covers all bases with a 500-mile range, plus, it’s paid for. I pity those who forsake reliability and sensibility for vanity…
In Canada, my friend recently bought a XLT with some équipements but not fully loaded and he pay 75,000 plus 15% tx.
I talk crap about Ford but I do like the utility of the hybrid system with on board power is super cool. Work and camping with no worries about power. But I love my GMC. Thank you
Cross shopped pick up trucks this past winter and ended up ordering another new personal '24 Lariat Powerboost and two new XLs for the job site . My '22 Powerboost has been an excellent truck, we love it, and actually just got it back from the collision centre after a deer hit me. Thank the Lord I can get out of the Toyota Singer sewing machine I got as a rental car for 6 LONG weeks.....
imo, if you don't mind the look of the tremor. it's still a great buy over and optioned xlt considering the upgrades in suspension, etc.
That's a good looking truck! It has a lot of features for an XLT but they cost too darn much.
you could also remove a lot of the features and pay less. it's surprisingly competitively priced. not just ford or pickups with the higher prices.
Funny thing is… my ‘21 XLT has all of these same features, minus wireless charging, and I paid just over $50k for it.
@@kgthakid2911 congrats. That’s 3 years ago before the prices of everything went up. I was buying peppers for a third of the cost they are now. Plus the 12” screens and 360 cameras are standard now where before they weren’t. And the xlt starts at $55k
@@KingLuis1985 yea that’s the point I’m making too. It’s funny that the same features on this truck cost so much less in ‘21. Just shows that they aren’t offering anything new except a higher price tag.
I like the review by Andre and TFL. I don't care about any 1/2 ton truck hybrid or otherwise at a $75,000 sticker price. If the Platinum starts at $75,000, it's going to be $90,000 on a stealership. That is ridiculous. The hybrid is $66,000 it's going to be $80,000, respectively. People's paychecks aren't getting more generous because if they do, the IRS is there to take that money. Ford and other car manufacturers' executives need to get with the times. People can't afford these trucks at these prices. Manufacturers, you're going to be hating "giving away" your trucks. That time is coming, and the people are not going to be savvy with you getting bailouts again. You did this to yourselves. Just like before.
The reason trucks are this expensive is not because people can’t afford them, it’s because a whole lot of people can afford them.
Or more accurately, still buy them even if they can’t afford them.
I suggest you look at Repo Reports and payment defaults. The banks are in crises. No, people can not afford these trucks.
@@Cloud30000 Exactly right, People finance these things for the maximum and spend nearly their entire living expenses in monthly payments on these trucks only to use it as a status symbol. It's why you can always find 100K fully loaded F-350's parked in shit ass trailer parks. They finance to people who have no earthly business financing something like this.
@@alvinwoods639 banks in crisis lmfao
@@Cloud30000exactly. If I’m Ford (or any other auto maker), why wouldn’t I keep increasing prices if people are still buying them?
A couple things. First - it's awesome to hear what these hybrids are capable of, or even the complete EV's. Only negative is, they take forever to recharge. Second - with all these additional electronical features, it continues to just keep adding additional failure points. The evolution of these new features is occurring too fast, and most dealerships are not equipped to fix these issues.
For me, I still feel it's best to keep things as "simple" and straight forward as possible, which is a hard trim to buy these days. Not to mention, the majority of these new trucks are too expensive for people to purchase, while adding additional features that are more likely to fail.... Quite a combination and I don't see this commonly talked about....
Looks like a great truck. I like the trim level and the features that are included I've been in the market for a new truck but I'm not going to buy one until the prices get reasonable. Looks like I'm going to have to keep driving my old truck around for a while longer and I don't mind it's still running fine. Ford isn't the only one that's got overpriced trucks though. No matter what manufacturer you go to you're going to be paying a lot more, a lot more than I'm willing to pay that's for sure. I'm going to wait it out for now and see what happens but I do like this truck. Thanks for these great reviews, keep up the good work
I remember my dad buying a brand 1986 XLT for 8k in 1987! This pricing is more than inflation and its insulting.
I currently have a 2018 high line Lariat with the 5 litre V8 and love the truck. For a laugh I thought I'd go see what a new one would run me configured pretty much the same as my current one. A few issues with how Ford has changed the options and equipment. Not a big fan of leather seats so thought I could get away with the XLT, but can't get power folding trailer mirrors which are essential for me as I only have 9 foot garage doors. I have to go back to the Lariat for that feature. Really want the B & O unleashed sound system...have to go to the high line lariat for that. I really like the power deployable running boards...no longer available in the Lariat have to go to the King Ranch for that option. Can only get the 3.5 eco boost in King Ranch...no 5.0 litre V8 in King ranch ( I would never pay the upcharge for the King Ranch regardless as it's insane). There isn't a truck I can buy right now from Ford that ticks all my boxes. When you have to spend the kind of money they are looking for you really want to get exactly what you want. Maybe in 2025??
I agree with Andre that many of these features are really nice. However 360 cameras, pro back up assist, push button start, power folding shifter, wireless charging shelf......etc. it's like everything has been re engineered for maximum complication and cost. I'm only going to work and running errands ffs.
Modern trucks are sadly taking on the German philosophy of overengineering. All the fancy parlor tricks and gadgetry wow people into making the initial purchase but ask any long term BMW or Mercedes owner and they'll tell you what a colossal pain in the ass it is to get their cars repaired when all of this unnecessary overengineered crap starts to fail. The days of the simple, humble reliable work truck are dead.
But they sure are nice to use! Once you drive a luxury truck it's hard to go back.
@@DavidHuber1 I have to agree
Please Make a Truck for work purpose and not for mall shopping. Do not compromise on the safety features like BLISS etc but i think premium interiors like leather seats, 200 way adjustable seats, Huge screens are not needed.
Up here in Canada for a 2024 Platinum it’s $107,000 so you guys in the States have it a lot better than us. I agree it’s pretty expensive but all manufacturers are the same in my opinion. It all comes down to who you prefer. I’m still a loyal Ford guy.
People complaining about the prices of a new truck. This thing is much more highly optioned than a truck from 10 years ago. Base model of the XLT starts at $54k, go order one of them. I get it that $70k is a lot of money. $20k is a lot of money too. I passed up buying a new Lariat in 2023 and went with a used 2020 Lariat for $30k less than the 2023. Buy what you can afford.
In my opinion doesn’t matter which brand truck they are all out pricing what the average person can afford. At some point these manufacturers most realize that with the price of their trucks and the high interest rates no one can afford to pay for a truck
65k for an xlt is crazy my 15 plati brand new was 63k, crazy how expensive trucks are now
The weird thing is people will brag about what a deal they get with $5,000 off a $70,000 MSRP truck. Even $65,000 is too much. Now they have mortgage level payments for a vehicle depreciated the day they sign the paperwork.
I think the front end with those blacked out headlights is money
I think what a lot of people need to realize is this XLT isn't the XLT of even four years ago. XLT now is basically lariate with cloth. The STX is going to be more in line with what the XLT used to be.
I think so too
Makes sense
Yah, since they are simplifying their trims, it would make sense that the combinations we're used to will probably have to shift a little bit to fill voids from the trims that are going away.
True, however the prices are still insane. I used to sell Fords
@@aviator1228everything is more expensive with this current economy.
Oh look, a bunch of changes for chevy to eventually rip off.
First Chevy will mock the changes and eventually copy it when they find Ford had great success. They shoot themselves in the foot all the time. The tailgate man step, downsized turbo engines, aluminum body, and so much more.
FYI you can lease these with the power boost for really cheap right now.
If you have a trade in, and X or Z plan, it’s $350 a month for 10k miles, the sticker has to be 66k.
They take off $1900 for the power boost
$2000 for an XLT discount
$3750 for another rebate
And $2000 for trading in a vehicle.
Add maybe ~$50 for 15k miles.
I just did this, put $0 outta my pocket, got a check back for my car. $380 with 12k miles.
Leasing a vehicle is not a smart financial decision
@@c.s.n.7695 buddy, you’d have to get a 15 year, 0% interest loan to even come close to that payment. In certain cases, it’s fine.
@@c.s.n.7695it can be for the right price
@@c.s.n.7695 when you can lease it for what would essentially be a 15 year 0% interest loan, it’s not bad. Your loss is lower in this case than the depreciation would be if you bought it outright, even in cash.
@c.s.n.7695 fun decision everytime u get the newest ride lol
Great looking trucks. 65K for that FX4 Powerboost with full digital screens and blue cruise capable is reasonable. Same truck was just under 60K for 2021 with no digital cluster or blue cruise capabilities.
These pickup trucks have so much stuff in the engine compartment that it’s hard to imagine how routine maintenance can be performed. A useful part of each review of every pickup truck would be to cite the costs of routine things like changing spark plugs, replacing drive belts, replacing water pump, etc. TFL does an excellent job of comparing mpg (fuel cost) and should expand that into the cost of routine maintenance by quoting each manufacturer’s flat-rate manual prices.
Fords are known to have so much stuff under the hood that you can't even see the engine.
Ya that's a ford problem
@@PeterRabbitWhatsup toYota is the same, can’t see the engine
$20k more than a similar XLT Ranger and only 100 lbs more payload. That’s crazy.
Also only about 100 pounds more than the Maverick.
A Ranger used to be a full size Ford truck and a Maverick was a piece of garbage Ford car.
A Yeti cooler, groceries, strollers, designer skinny jeans don't weigh very much. 😁

@@Kahless00 Poor cupcake, have fun paying 200 thousand dollars for a pickup in the future. 😂 oh ,that's right... an all electricsoyboypickuptruck.
You have to consider that XLT is now 2 trim levels up from XL with STX taking its spot as 1 above XL. XLT now has equipment that was previously only available in Lariat, 302A used to be XLT high and now it’s mid with the addition of 303A. Yeah the base XLT price went up $3000 but $1300 of it is 2.7 being standard now, the rest is made up with the addition of more features that don’t appear on the window sticker where previously most of the options were itemized add ons. 302A in 23 was $6k and now it’s $4700, If you actually compare a 23 and 24 XLT with the exact same options the price is almost identical.
Totally agree about the price. Way too expensive! I want one and I could buy one, but I cannot justify paying that kind of money. I'm more likely to buy an older pickup and have it updated.
I ❤ TFL
It's priced to absorb about $9K in rebates and still be profitable for the company. When supply is low MSRP is the price. When supply is high, MSRP is more of a suggestion. No more pandemic pricing. Personally I wouldn't look at any vehicle with hands free driving. Also I would never finance things like a bolt on bed step or a bedliner. Those things are add ons that can be paid for in cash and installed after you purchase the truck. I do think that a nicely optioned truck though should sell from 50-57K out the door. More bare bones models or new 2023's that are still hanging around should be priced under 50K.
No Coyote available above Lariat trim? Why is that?
Good morning Andrey..I would go with a F150 XL Long box
Next time come in July. We go up to 130 degrees in coachella
Wow Andre… I live in Palm Springs… welcome to the desert… are you at Fiesta Ford in Palm Desert?…. Love all your Videos of this channel..I love your style..
I love the Fords and like the Chevy and GMC, you can still get a bench seat and column shifter and a V8. The Rams are great and so are Toyotas too, I like those as well but in a 1/2 Ton, I’d like to have a V8, column shifter and a bench seat up front, you can’t get that anymore on some trucks.
You gotta do a review with the updated 2.7 ecoboost f150
when are you guys going to do a zr-2 vs ranger raptor off road comparison?
I have a 2022 F150 XLT Powerboost Max Tow and I’m lemon lawing it. At 28k miles, rear axle bolts broke. At 33k miles, transmission was replaced and second set of rear axle bolts replaced. At 40k miles, another set of axle bolts replaced. I’m at 50k now and the transmission is shifting harshly and the rear axle bolts need to be replaced again.
I own a 2022 but I will not be buying another mainly due to the price!. The prices are INSANE and not to mention the quality is not there anymore. Mine has been to the dealer for issue after issue after issue in just 36k miles. Turbo replacement, rear diff replacement, image processing module replacement, and now my transmission is having issues. I partly question if it’s cause it was built during Covid, but still it’s a shame. $70k for an XLT is criminal. I paid $50k for my 302A in late 2021.
It's nice to see such affordable prices these days! Thanks to Ford👍
Still no auto 4x4 or push button start in a $65K XLT. Push button start I can live without. But I will never own another truck without 4A.

I absolutely love the look of the headlights and grille on the XL,XLT AND TREMOR models.
Yeah... I'll just stick to buying used with these prices
Simplified offerings mean cheaper production costs for Ford, but higher Prices for consumer :(
I like the more traditional look of the F150. Silverado side profile is weird looking, especially the side mirrors.
I don't mind the F-150 but I think the Silverado, Ram, and Tundra all look much more modern. This platform is 10 years old now and the design language goes back 20 years. You call it traditional, I call it dated. But that's totally subjective.

Who tf needs a 3500 for a load of sod?
I wish trucks had option to git rid of the Infotainment screens. I have a smart phone that I use for maps, thats all I need.
I like the previous Tremor grill and prices are high
Does it have a digital rear view mirror like dodge and GMC yet ?
They got rid of the NA V6 because it was too reliable.
Although pricy, there’s good reason these are the top sellers!!!
The loss of tailgate trim panel on thenhigh line trims is a HUGE NO for me. I have come up on several new F150s that I would think were XLT and thebtrucknwould be a KR or Limited.
I paid 58k for my fully loaded (minus tailgate speakers) 2020 Sierra duramax AT4. I paid 70k for my 22 powerboost f150 lariat. I think I might have to change professions and stop driving pickups. edit: On my powerboost with livernois tune, I get 23-25mpg in and around atlanta. I get about 700 miles on a tank of gas 89oct, I have gotten as high as 800 miles while driving up the east coast from GA through to VA. Might seem counterintuitive, but having a good amount of weight in the bed helps your mpg.

@DB-pb7ckis it a problem?.
Ford bought back my 2020 F150 XLT super crew after it had a death wobble that Ford could not figure out. It went to multiple different shops on nine different occasions. Ford sent a representative to Florida to try to figure it out and couldn’t. I’m not sold that is the best pickup.
When are yall getting a 2025 ram
The GMC looks waaaay better imo.
I bought my Bronco in 2023. No mark up, but still $49,990 with all the features 2 door V6. I thought THAT was too expensive. Last new vehicle I’ll ever buy if these prices never come down again.
Hi! I’m thinking of getting a used F-150 as daily work truck. I have a commute of 40 mile one-way (1.5 hrs) then another 1hr drive home in horrid SoCal traffic. I haul mostly network cabling installation equipment in the bed, and do not tow.
What model year, engine and grade do you recommend? I would like to have some of the newer active safety features such as the automatic emergency braking system to avoid front collisions, but not as critical as long-term reliability and durability. Any suggestions for a late model
F-150 with Direct and Port Injection. Also, what immediate and affordable engine and transmission mods for reliability and durability are recommended? I’m not looking for more power, just long-term reliability and durability as I don’t have too much money and need a truck for work and personal use. If not a F-150, please suggest alternatives for a reliable, durable and affordable pickup truck. Thank you!
Its insane to me that the msrp of a well options xlt has gone up from 63k back when i bought mine in 21 to over 70k. I get ford gives out rebates and discounts like candy but its still ridiculous for a flagship product to increase in price like that.
Did TFL Truck go to the Mud Fest in Shelton, Washington?
Nope
I’m not a Ford fan but that truck really has a nice interior.
No it’s made of little tykes plastic
that huge fuel tank would be nice to have.
A funny thing that I learned when I bought my 2019 F-150 XL: the base trim level has the same towing and payload capacity as the Platinums😲😲😲Too many people think they need a loaded truck.
It’s actually on the contrary. Lower trims always have and always will have more payload vs loaded trims.
Why is the 3.5 ecoboost rated to tow more than the 3.5 power boost since the power boost puts out more power?
Haven't the new 24's been gone over already? Is there anything new in this video that hasn't been gone over before?
Why does a vehicle need a Barking sensor??
Did they fix the cam phasers in the 3.5 eco boost yet? Until then no
Only took Ford till 2024 to get a heads up display, way to go ford!
