In this fantasy adventure tale, Connor MacLeod (Christopher Lambert) and his kinsman Duncan (Adrian Paul) are "Immortals," members of a secret clan who can be killed only through decapitation. Connor and Duncan find themselves thrown into a tournament where Immortals both good and evil battle one another in a bid to become the last of their kind. Both Adrian Paul and Christopher Lambert made Highlander movies and TV series so awesome
I love how he always loved Heather and never forgot her
Bruce Payne is great at portraying the villain in movies.
Hell yeah he is. So under rated.
In this movie, The haircut of Lambert is the real mistery
He was too old even for his age, 43. He looked like a 56 years old man.
Mistery loves company…
Hair is not immortal.
Hair today, gone tomorrow.
There can only be one movie, the first one
In the original movie and tv series nobody can beat Connor McLeod the Highlander. This movie is like another Conner.
You could tell this wasn’t going to be a death match. Because it didn’t take place in an abandoned factory, or a roof top. Or look like it was three different fights edited together.
Was so good to see these guys again together since episode 1 of the tv series.
Jacob kell just loves to speak 🙄 every time he swings the sword he has something to say, OH SHUT UP! 🤮
"You on the other hand, are on borrowed time..."
The dude is over 400 year old, what have you been waiting for? Connor's first wife and greatest love died of old age. If you've really been hounding Conner all these centuries killing people he loves, you've been pretty sporadic about it.
Guess we are not suppose to notice that! Ha!
This entire movie was a weird anachronism in the Highlander lore. Not only did they insert Duncan's wife from absolutely nowhere, they made Connor into this colossally moody mess for no reason other than this movie's plot. They just didn't care about what came before.
@@StarWarsMoments Hence why the going phrase in the fandom has long been "There can be only one." There's the original, and then...yeah.
I'll grant that I'd take this sequel over just about any of the others and that Connor always had an undercurrent of sadness to him, like some part of him wishes he'd just died on the battlefield that day. But to go full-on Sanctuary mode was definitely a choice.
@@markgundle4150 As much as I love Christopher Lambert in the role .. im hoping that they can pull off something with the Reboot with Henry Cavill.. maybe a trilogy with a cohesive storyline because they definitely ruined the story with pretty much all the sequels...
Bruce Payne did a masterful performance.
Glad he wasn't just another Kurgan impression
I don't know what was worse, the movie or Christopher Lambert's bob!!!
There can be only one
Highlander flick.
The first one.
Kell beat Connor without even trying. Duncan could never beat Kell. So I accepted that seeing Connor's spirit threw him off his game and Duncan could quickly take advantage. I can accept that an invincible fighter has one weakness.
Conor had given up on life. Man cant fight that way.
@@antondelacruz9362 Yea but come on, Connor was literally top of the food chain. Not number 3 or 2 he was number one. Always was then he just forgets how to fight? I understand Christopher Lambert was just getting old, and Adrian Paul was younger, better martial artist etc, but dang. He schooled Duncan his whole life and now he can barely hold his own at all. Horrible send off for a legendary character.
@@picallo1 i didnt say it was good storytelling or he forgot how to fight. Imo he just lost the will to live, so didnt fight well. Thats all.
It's almost like breaking the rules didn't pay off long-term for Kell, since breaking the rules of life and death did for him.
Don't disobey the Highlander code of not to fight on consummated ground..
Connor McLeod's incompetence is so damn funny!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
For an immortal McCloud sure ages a lot. 😂
MacLeod
I feel like the hair and makeup department should have made *some* attempt at reducing the age difference in Connor between this film and the original.
well technically he is suppose to look like a burn out, he spend a decade being drugged up and sleeping remember, and he just got up and shaved a few days ago, can't expect him to be in shape and smell like roses
Andy Thompson that's one reason what is sugar made this movie he's getting old for his age
What's crazy is he's only 42 here - Hell, he's only two years older than Adrian Paul.
I want to thank Endgame for making Highlander 2 and 3 so much better.
Bwahahah agreed
Jacob Kell was savage AF!
Donnie is one of the greatest in my book...
Connor beats the Kurgan then losses to Colonel Klink?
Pshhhh… 🙄
The highlander was to me the most inte5esting series ever made.i loved it but the makers never quite knew how to end it .
They didn't have to end it actually. They could have done something like Dr Who, and continued the series with another main character.
The concept ends when the game ends, which is why the 1st movie was great and the subsequent movies were crap. They had to keep making stuff up that ruined the cool mythos.
EveryOne is mentioning how old Connor looks. I got up and walked out of the movie during this scene, it was so bad.
Wow. That’s a massive statement.
Bruce Payne's terrible overacting didn't help either.
@@yokiryuchan7655 thought his acting was great. However, him and Lambert were sick during filming. Think on dvd extras Payne had a cold or flu or something going on during filming.
Highlander as a special gift for this, but Jacob's sword looks incredibly unwieldy. Credit to the editor for making it look like he could fight quickly.
This is like the terminator franchise, it ended, Terminator ended for Fans after no. 2 this ending after no.1.
Everything after the first Highlander became a mess
Basically there was supposed to be only one movie. He won the prize. The End. Connor McCleod. The show was good but I pretended it was in an alternate universe.
The producers stated that the series IS part of an alternate universe.
@@tyrantgregcagkaiju71 Really????Thank God for that!!!!!
Kolos Farkhasiu Yep. This movie was intended to bridge the gap between the movies and the series. Which was an ultimately failed attempt at filmmaking.
Pretty much. Two different Earths in the Multiverse.
@@tyrantgregcagkaiju71 every entry in the series was a failed attempt at filmmaking. Great stories, interesting characters, flawed execution in virtually every category, and EXTREMELY wasted potential of the writer’s original concept(s)
He had me until he said "Call Ya"
I think the premise of this movie and some of its parts were very good but the overall execution was very poor
Why they had to make all the sequels after number one is beyond me, he went from being the immortal champion to being a pushover in this movie. They did this just to pass the torch to the TV series what an incredible waste Of a singular story that was so awesome and unique, A true dumpster fire, I feel sorry for Christopher Lambert, I don’t know if he was contractually obligated to do this piece of crap or if he just needed the money, either way it’s a sad ending to a character that he made his own.
raiden with the sword 😂
This was the one that really had me like 'tf is this".
Darn Ninja always a ninja
About to explode Pirate a charger
i hate how they made Connor a talentless grunt under Adrian paul's Duncan. It's like Hey the films where amazing but were gonna let the Telly guy have the glory.
Because the television show was an extremely big hit both in America and internationally. The TV literally saved the franchise and Adrian Paul looked like fabio with fighting skill and charm
2Good2BeTrue45 But Connor in my opinion was more believable. He was a normal guy haunted by the past. Nothing against Duncan but he was too much of a James Bond type. I couldn’t get away with his rather typical action hero persona and his pretty boy look.
james belcher If you believe that Endgame is canon then I would probably agree with that.
james belcher You could also forget that they’re immortals and from the Planet Zeist.....cough.
james belcher Not a lot of good stuff to choose after the first film. Nuns, no sense of humour.
Kell should've just Tied an Arm behind His Back, to make it Look more Impressive!
Technically all three of them are highlanders
Супер. Без крови на мечах)
Only one...
He was the best Punisher.
He is not the same actor
Bruce Payne: master overacter. Lol
"dont you want to be insiiiiiide me?"
Highlander ended at 1986 for me...
Nah, the Series ended in 97 and was often better than the movie.
where is this Bruce Payne nowadays!?
0:59 Is he rapping???
The old immortal? That's funny 😆
Esses filmes são lendário
The only thing was he did not see me coming,.
By kill count, Jacob Kell was untouchable. Call ya
Man Lambert was only 43 here he looks 6p haha
Such bullshit. They really make Conor out to be some sort of shitty swordsman in this film and even kill him off. Ridiculous.
then you didn't pay attention, clearly kell has mindfucked and tortured him for eternity, he was tired of the life and gave the gift to duncan, the brother that truly deserves his power + duncan is awesome, eventho endgame wasn't that good of a movie, the storyline and goals of it where nice, and now duncan is the most powerful immortal in the world, but they had to drown the highlander franchise / series completely with the source, wich was absolutely shit. and should be buried deep into a ditch
yeap
Don't forget, he just came out of a 10-year coma. Naturally, he'd be quite out of practice.
Its not really that its the fact hes not a match the movie makes it clear Kell could kill both Duncan an Connor at any time he chooses but he wants to play with them they are nothing to him because hes so powerful.Which is why Connor chooses death so Duncan can have a chance.
Connor forgot to use both hands.
after 10 years of comatose, it is normal he is out of practice
He also forgot to put on his plot armor.
i dont know what it is but connor mccloud of the clan mccloud doesnt look 18 to me!
born 1518, made immortal 1536!
born 1518 made immortal 1583 is more like it!!!
Fear finally got him.

Хороший сериал !!!👏👏👏👍
Duncan is the illest...
they fought i holy ground. I thought they couldn't do that
Isaac Waite lol i think in the comic or whatever that if you fight on holy ground dead immortals come back to life. Guess they decided to leave that out of the movies.
they didn't fight on holy ground, as Kell waited outside the cemetery bounds and Connor voluntairily stepped off the cemetery. The fight happend just outside holy ground. Kate was also outside of it, however Duncan was still on holy ground (within the bounds of the cemetery) when he was watching the fight. Watch closely and you can see the cemetery bounds.
They can't kill on Holy ground. Every time they had a quickening near HG on the show, day turned into night and Duncan had a more painful quickening.
The things they ignored from the show like this, without consequence, are some of what make this movie trash and not in the TV show or movie universe.
Basically, Highlander was doing the multiverse (with EVERY movie and tv sequel) since wayyy before Marvel movies.
@@ItsShane79 when Connor was "rescued" from Sanctuary by Jacob earlier in the movie it was on Holy ground. Jacob just went over and killed a bunch of immortals, breaking the HG rule and also the one immortal at a time rule...at the same time.
This fight was like watching Ivan Drago fight Apollo Creed.
Me and my dad used to watch this I was like 4/5 at the time 😂
4/5 of what ?

$300 and catered subway sandwiches once a week
Connor’s sword was far too short. A wakazashi is a bad idea to fight a claymore or broadsword. A katana is a better idea.
most of the swords in this "universe" are bad types for the styal the user fights with or the person they are fighting i mean look at Richie Mac trained him to fight using slashes and counter strikes then gives him a sword made for stabbing and parrying

there is a video that tells why kell sucks....have to remember kell likes to talk when he is fighting....saying stuff like "you can not beat me" "you will never beat me" after awhile of hearing that pretty soon you start to believe his bullshit....then kell has you....
I love Lambert but Adrian Paul was more believable as the best swordsman
Bruce Payne is the only nice thing in the movie.
I thought Adrian was too
Conner macloed was unbalance emotinal distracted by hate and what the guy stood for he haded him he wanted to kill him but he was unable to focus on what he was taught all these distractions made him lose this fight he got tired of waiting killing he misss the ones he loved he evan said this has to be the end he wasent even trieing to fight ducan he was wanting to die i belive he would have won the prize he is the highlander
You are making stories up to excuse bad writing. :D
Let me try to translate this absolute gibberish: "Connor MacLeod was unbalanced emotionally and distracted by hate and what Kell stood for. He hated him and wanted to kill him, but was unable to focus on what he was taught. All these distractions made him lose this fight. He got tired of waiting and killing. He missed the ones he loved, and even said 'this has to be the end.' He wasn't even trying to fight Duncan (during their later fight). He wanted to die. I believe he would have won The Prize. He is the Highlander."
I am Danny McCloud of the clan MacLeod
Connor was unbalanced and emotionally unstable that's the only reason he lost here not because that bastard was more powerful
I dunno man. 600+ heads is a LOT of collective technique and experience. If an immortal is truly the sum total of his conquests, then Jacob Kell was one bad motor scooter.
hell yea he lost though because connor is off his game!
Kell is supposed to be in this film the be all end all immortal the ultimate evil like a super immortal. He could beat an or kill both Connor an Duncan at any time but chooses to let them live for his amusement because hes obsessed with vengeance.Which is why Connor chooses to die because he knows its the only way Duncan can even have a chance.
@@hazelgoodshepherd9315 who cares about his 665+1 heads?
Duncan had the combined quickenings of Kalas, Grayson, Xavier, Hyde, AND Kronos, not to mention a bunch of other really strong baddies.
Connor had the quickenings of Ramirez AND Kurgan. A bunch of small, weak immortals does not equal the power of Duncan or Connor.
@@davidm4566 Sure, I mean the movie clearly demonstrated the difference between quality and quantity. I definitely agree. But at the same time neither of them would have been a match for him alone. Because the numbers game is ultimately important as Dawson explained to them from his Watcher records. The fact is the average immortal could not stand up to Jacob Kell alone. It just wasn’t going to happen. And even our heroes the MacLeod’s who were both well above average could not do so either. There comes a point when the numbers are just too high and plot armor has to intervene.
Beyond that, we aren’t given any indication whatsoever of the caliber of the enemies Jacob Kell has defeated up to this point. For instance, in slaying his cronies, remember that he takes out the extremely powerful immortal Jin Ke with a single casual attack. You have to wonder then just how many times this sort of thing has happened as he’s traded out and rebuilt his wrecking crews throughout time. The massacre definitely wasn’t a mistake or a coincidence. If anything it seemed almost ritualistic.
so tell me again.... how is it that a Scotch guy plays a Spanish one... and uses a Katana
Seba1805 they live forever.... They get around
A ethnically French guy plays a Scot and makes it work. Somehow he succeeds. The aforementioned Scot playing an Egyptian/Spaniard also played a Russian Submarine Captain and made that work.

Lol bro you good? You kinda trailed off into gibberish
The choreography for Christopher Lambert is sooo bad. His fighting stances are so cliche. 🤦♂️
Tell me about it. As much time as he spent training, it wasn’t nearly enough. There’s no excuse for that kind of sloppiness in EVERY Highlander film he’s been in. One of the most laughable examples is when Connor and Ramirez are sword training in the mountains, and their feet are stationary. Hell everything below the waist is completely still and motionless. Unless you’re doing something like Jesse Glover’s Non Classical Gung Fu, that’s never going to work in a fight. ESPECIALLY with a weapon. On top of that, a lot of the sword strikes I’ve seen in this series aren’t actually aiming for the opponent but rather the opponent’s weapon. Reminds me of when we played sword fighting with sticks as a kid lol.
That’s on him AND the directors. Not to mention every other thing they did that was so unnatural and overactive it completely broke the viewers immersion.
About 10 seconds in and I'm reminded why I hated this movie. I had such high hopes at the time, merging the classic movie series with the TV show - but this was just overacted dreck.
Plus they contradicted the series and cheapened Connor's victory in the first one.
I wish Lambert never took part in the sequels. They were all absolute crap. Highlander was the only movie that was any good.
The same can be said for Star Wars, Aliens, Predator and Terminator. Movie writers need to come up with some new stories.
The final movie (The Source) was the absolute WORST.
Toryboy1807 - Terminator 2 was good and so was Aliens 👽
@@VeinyDickTracy Agreed. These films usually have one quality sequel in them before falling off a cliff edge.
2 was fun, even if it made no sense...it also laid way for the series.
3 was ok even if it was a rehash. It did have some new flashbacks and was going at the same time as the Series with Duncan so that was nice.
Sorry but this is pure BS...Connor took the Kurgan + Kane, Duncan took the Four Horsemen, Kell is not the most powerful of the Immortals...the franchise died after first movie and TV series.
SUSS HEY SUSSY CUANDO TENGAS SUEÑOS COMO ESTE HABLABME MANDAME UNA SEÑAL PORFA SÍ
I loved Highlander. A great movie. But the rest of the films and this Highlander tv show were absolutely awful. Made purely for money. Made a mockery of everything else.
I agree that only the first movie was good but the tv series was honestly better than the original movie
The Adrian Paul tv show was great. Agreed on the first film being really good as well.
Cheap crappy sword.
The film itself is interesting, but the choreography is just terrible.
1) I understand that the writers were tired of Connor, they loved Duncan more, but ... How weak they made Connor here, in the battle in the cemetery, horror. He was a skilled warrior and defeated the dangerous and powerful Kurgan, and then ... Here he seemed to have been studying fencing for two days, really.
2) Let's say Jacob Kell has 660 wins, but what quality are they? How many times has he defeated the Immortals like Kalas, Grayson, Kronos...? Or only the weak, wounded and prisoners mainly? I don't get the point either.
3) Jacob Kell did not show anything special skills in the final fight, but he humiliated Duncan and hacked for about five minutes, and then Duncan spat on everything, jumped over 2 meters in the style of Tony Jaa, jumped over Kell and chopped off his head. Why couldn't he do it in the beginning?
And anyway, why Duncan couldn't tell Kate that she couldn't give birth anyway, that possible Immortals couldn't have children either? А lot of tales...

So terrible, so lazy. Why wasn't Donnie Yen the main villain?
Not a particularly good movie.
The ONLY "Highlander" that was ever good was the Original 1986 movie with Chris Lambert, Sean Connery and Clancy Brown as "The Kurgan", accompanied with the awesome Queen Soundtrack. EVERYTHING else that came out after that movie, sequels and TV shows, was TOTAL garbage......
Worst villain ever.
Cristopher Lambert as highlander.. cmon. Guy is just.. too boring- face for the role if highlander. I can imagine him as a cop- detective, in not very violent crime drama or as professor or scientist .. but sword fight ..?
We saw how Clive Standen manipulate with cold steel ( Rolo.), Chaning Tatum ( The Eagle..), by my opinion best actor for role of highlander is Liam Neeson.
This whole movie is BS. All of the Highlander movies after the first one are BS. Conner won the prize by beating the Kurgan. End of story
