    Beth, you're a superhero! I don't have kids so I can't fully relate but for sure you've been through a lot. Thank you for your content and for this video (I'm a Sims 2 fan but I'm also a fan of your content in general :). Happy to hear you're both healthy and happy after this long stressful story.

    Congratulations on the new blessing. All babies are a blessing. Give yourself time to heal, having gone through 2 early births, both of them c-sections. They did take a while to heal from. You look like a calm young woman, which is a strength & a blessing. Just enjoy the blessings, and rest when you can. Congrats to your family, etc.

    Oh honey! I understand. I have three children, my first was traumatic in a sense where I wasn’t listened to, and my second was an absolute dream. My third and last baby I was hoping to have a drug free experience, that I would go into labour naturally (I was induced for both my other babies) but unfortunately nothing went to plan. Everything I was worried about happened. The epidural stopped working at one point and I struggled to cope, and baby struggled as well. She came 37 weeks on the dot, and struggled to take her breath. They needed to give her the oxygen mask, and I honestly thought she was going to die. She got stuck on the way out, I tore quite badly and the after pain of that took like 6 months to heal as stitches came out too soon. I was stuck in hospital 8 days on my own as babies weight wasn’t high enough, and she had jaundice too. We ended up being sent home for one day, then she was admitted for another 24 hours the following day. She had tongue ties, and had a hard start to life, but she’s a happy 2 year old now. :)
    The hardest parts for me was not hearing her cry when born, then the hospital stay itself. We had further restrictions, so I was in hospital by myself for two days before she was born, as I was stuck on antibiotics, then another 5 days after she was born. I wasn’t allowed visitors, and I wasn’t allowed to leave the room, so I was literally in isolation, and it was extremely traumatic.

    Beth you’re so beyond strong physically mentally emotionally! I can’t even imagine how brave you had to be for your baby. Also Paul sounds like a such a perfect and amazing partner I’m so glad you’re so supported and your babies have such a good unit caring for them 🥺❤️ truly such a wonderful little family you have im glad Emi made it out and all is well after such a traumatic experience

    I am so happy at the end you two could go home togheter ❤
    I myself was in NICU for two months as a baby, and I congratulate my mother for surviving all that.
    I'm so happy that you realised something was wrong with her movement and you decided to ring the hospital. Unfortunately so many women go a whole day without baby moving and then It's too late 😢. Good luck on further recovery from C-section, It's such an invasive and difficult surgery to go thru. Sorry to hear about the covid too :(
    Thankfully the lil girl is all fine now. I hope one day you can find out why her sugar dropped.

      Oh my heart goes out to your mama, that would have been such a long and difficult 2 months! 💕💕
      I am so thankful that I went to hospital when I did too!

    I am so so glad that Emi is fine now. 💕 That must have been terrifying.
    The road back home after my c section was old and rather 'fun' like that and yes recovery does suck.
    Tip: Plastic chair in the shower. I was rather glad of it as I had low blood pressure and low iron after my daughter, without it I may have ended up on the floor as well.
    That couch after a C section, ouch Beth.
    Thank God for wonderful midwives and nurses.
    It's okay to be disappointed about not getting birth you planned and imagined, grateful that she is here and healthy which may make you feel guilty about those negative feelings. I will forever be annoyed at not being able to get a epi when trying for a vbac after being told no worries while pregnant, but birth is always unpredictable, doctors differ in opinions and whatever way you feel is okay. 💜

    • @anachibi
      @anachibi Před 6 měsíci +1

      I second the chair suggestion! I've always had to be a bit careful with hot showers, extremely so when I was anemic and could barely have my arms up long enough to wash my hair. Super annoying but gotta listen to your body. I can totally relate to being frustrated about recovery. Hope you have a lovely, cozy holiday!!

    • @TeaAddict
      @TeaAddict  Před 6 měsíci +3

      Yeah I will need to look into something like that for the shower! - it's funny because I have sometimes noticed those bright squiggles in my vision while showering but never known what it was before - now I know if it gets really bad in in trouble lol, so definitely something to watch out for.
      And yes all of the staff who looked after me were so wonderful, the neonatal nurses were so kind and helpful and I got to know a few of them quite well during my stay ❤️

    Wow, when you said emergency c-section I knew things didn't go as you hoped, but I had no idea it was this much of a rollercoaster. I am so glad for you guys that everything turned out the way it did and that you did decide to go to the hospital and followed your gut feeling! And I'm also so sorry you had to go through all of that! It must be so much to process. I never went through childbirth, but I can imagine that childbirth is part of the journey of the pregnancy and that you sort of need that to process the whole journey. So going from one moment being pregnant, to the next having a daughter and not being able to hold her, it is definitely something I can imagine not feeling complete, or missing closure and that bringing all sorts of emotions you need to process. Give yourself all the time and the love you need, you more than deserve to do anything and everything that feels right, right now. ❤🤗
    So happy for you that you are all safe and home and get the time to heal as a family. ❤

    Beth I know it feels so so hard right now with not being able to care for aidan as you want to, but just think how many years after this you have to care for him how you want to, it won't take long at all for him to click back into the norm again ❤

    • @TeaAddict
      @TeaAddict  Před 6 měsíci +2

      Thank you, yeah that's kind of what I am telling myself too - this is a "short" time in the grand scheme of things and very soon I will be able to pick him up again and get him in and out of the bath and bed and his highchair and do all of those care things again, and most likely he won't remember anything different!

    Hi Beth, this whole birth story is truly a miracle and so much to be thankful for! My third pregnancy was traumatic before during and after and by the grace of God he is 34 now. Remember your wellbeing is very important for your household so do look after yourself and a good cry every now and again still helps me to this day. My drama taught me that it is very easy to give less attention to the others that needed me (not that our circumstances are the same) but yes I only saw that in retrospect. When I saw the photo the first thought that came to me was that she was not just the prettiest most beautiful baby girl but that she looked contented. All the best to all of you.

    • @TeaAddict
      @TeaAddict  Před 6 měsíci +1

      She is a super calm and content little thing!! I thought that my son was a pretty settled baby, Emi is almost even more settled than he was 😂
      Thank you for sharing your wisdom; I've definitely been working out how to balance taking care of myself, and giving my son, husband and dogs the attention that they need too. It's going to be a learning process especially as life shifts back towards my husband and family going back to work and I start to do more solo days with the kids. Actually really grateful that this has all happened around Christmastime so I've been able to have so much help and support!

    There is nothing like sleeping in your own bed after being away for a while. I so glad that you guys are all on the mend and feeling much better. I'm sure Aiden will come around, all kids go through phases of having a favorite person.

    Hey Beth, first of all: happy holidays to you and your beautiful family!
    I am so relieved to hear that Emi is doing well and thriving again after the initial scare. I think it’s absolutely normal for you to grieve the birth you were looking forward to, while also being very grateful for the C-section that surely saved Emi’s life (your doctors and midwives sound really awesome though, sounds like you were in great hands!) The postpartum hormones and surgery recovery definitely don’t make this entire process any easier… You’ll be back to holding and lifting up your baby boy in no time though (the pictures of both of them together made my heart melt 🥹) you are a superhero mama and this too shall pass! Wishing you a speedy recovery and can’t wait to see the fun adventures next year has in store for you and your loved ones 😊

    I have cried for you and Emi and this whole experience. Having 2 little ones as well, I cannot imagine the stress of that. So grateful that you listened to your body and took action when you did. I was going to play this while gtting some gaming in and ended up glued to my screen listening to the full video. Emi is a strong and beautiful girl and this is just the beginning of her amazing journey in life!
    C-section recovery sucks big time (had it twice and this second time is definitely muhc harder). Do be gentle with yourself, and as others said, take time for yourself. Let you feel the emotions and so glad you have a therapist ready to talk through the trauma. I need to get one myself lol.
    A dramatic and memorable welcome to the world emi!!! So excited to see her grow and be apart of your beautiful family.
    Much love Beth, thank you for sharing your story with us.

      Your second Cesar sounds so stressful Dani, and knowing that you had little Theo at home at the time - man, that must have been so hard! It's comforting to know that we can make it through these really hard periods and come out the other side.
      At the moment I'm just trying to give myself permission to rest and recover but I find that very difficult to do lol, house needs taking care of, I want to exercise, play with Aidan... NO Beth, calm yourself down 😂🙈

    Congratulations! I am only here to make this comment today because of a c-section. I'll be 36 in a few days. My mom was way overdue, induced, and I never even dropped. Eventually I went into distress and she needed the c-section or I'd die. Can you imagine how many moms and babies passed before c-sections and before modern medicine that makes them a LOT safer? I am so glad those advances were made and that you are here with your little girl. :)

      Oh your poor mama. Yes I think about that often - if I hadn't gone in and cesarean sections weren't what they are, my baby would have passed 😭 heartbreaking to think about!

    So sorry you had to go through that but so glad you’re all doing well. My youngest was born a month early after my water broke and I was so nervous. She didn’t cry at birth and things got a little complicated fast. I got PPD from all the trauma. But 5 year later we’re all okay.

    my first was induced at 4 weeks early due to toxemia, He was in the neonatal ward for 5 days out of the 9 days I was in hospital. It was such a traumatic time being separated from him, especially the first 24 hours as I couldn't walk under my own steam. The epidurals in those days were only full block. I can totally relate to the emotions going through you, I know I spent a lot of time crying in those early days. Take care, Beth, Emi is so beautiful!

      Yes it was so hard!! I just wanted to hold her and hear everything that was going on and know how she was doing - as much as they were updating me I still felt like I needed to know how she was doing, constantly, and make sure she was okay!
      Thank you Joy, I know I'm getting through the emotions slowly, I let myself just cry thinking about it whenever I need to 💕
      And yes, she is stunning ☺️
